I can't remember which move I used, but I was either code nuke 3 or code bomb 2 (both under the artilerist tree). Anyway when used in IL these moves have a high tendancy to do the silver bullet animation.

This happens to other top level buffs ie gunman, Grandmaster, Artilerist, etc. They fixed it once on EP however it seems it came back in the last update before it went live.

As far as your numbers changing... I noticed in CR2 that your numbers on your Combat details screen can +-3 pts... perhaps the range is wider now? Check your details screen change tabs and then look back at it... it should change again.
