I'm not new by any means, but I am new to the Meson Rifles.

I'm in love to put it short.. it's the most unique gun in the game, not easy to aquire.. does stun, but dies in 15mins MAX, im talkin full purity, AND it's non repairable. Now correct me if i'm wrong but, why make a gun with 3 dots, and only one dot can be used for such a uber-short amount of time. I ran one mission to test it out, by the time the mission was over and I was starting the next, I goto into the building and my 15 min old gun is now fully unstable.

At best thier should be a place to "recharge" these guns or at least let us repair them, OR even better let them last maybe half the time of a normal enhanced weapon. 15mins is weird.

I noticed another strange thing too.. The Heavy Meson Rifle Mk II dies in 15 mins, The Heavy Meson Rifle dies in like 30mins.

Why?

Is there already a place to "recharge", is this normal for them to die at a uber rate, and why does one have a "p" on it and the other doesnt (both Heavy Mk II's)

Indeed a very good question, a few days ago a friend of mine brought me their Meson rifle to fix, even with 2 full points of purity remaining, the weapon was 'unrepairable"


Im curious as to why.

Screw the Meson rifle.  Just use the Stinger shotgun.  It has the same stats, much easier to get, and has normal stability degradation.

agreed, introduce a new meson rifle, more powerful than all the current models, which can be repaired normally. cool gun =D

Stinger and Meson do NOT have the same stats.

Stinger only has 16m range
Baby Meson has 20
Big Meson has 22

Stinger does stun longer than either
but like someone said "DOES IT HAVE THE RED DEATH BEAM?"
And the 5% stun on a stinger is once like every 15 shots.. the big meson stuns once every 4-5.

Clamor's are cool but the damage sucks, the duel subs suck when yer an expert rifleman

...or we can just skip all that nonsense, and they can solve the issue (lots of ppl like this gun and wanna use it, except for the part about how it sux) by introducing a new gun, lvl 50, with the same cool effects but also repairable. ta da. use your brains you weirdos. forget jumping thru hoops lets just try to get what we need if its just a little thing they could do to make lots of ppl happy =D

Can we get some kind of info from a DEV please, because i've scowered the forums, and found not a single dev  talking about meson's stuperfast decay rate.

I'd love to hear them say it's been something overlooked and it's being fixed promptly, and I come in game and the lil "non-repairable" tag is gone, Or find they have been upgraded to 45 and 50 w/ more dmg, same stun, and longer range.

Now that would pwn major Walrus stugots SMILEY

not positive.  I have had mine for months, but I don't use it sery often.

As another patch rolls by, I cant help but think either the devs arent listening.. dont care to respond.. dont think anything is wrong, or think this topic is just for show..

DEVS THE MESON RIFLES ARE BROKEN.

No other item in this game decays like it does, and the ones that did were PROMPTLY fixed.

They did give us Lvl 50 guns. I have the Cramer-Seavey Heavy Shotgun. Good damage. I need to find the other lvl 50 guns and also the enchanced versions of said guns. SMILEY

In short, Meson Rifles are working as intended. Their decay rates are functioning as they are designed to.

Yes guys liek NoRepro said, the Meson Rifle is working the way it is ment to be! It wasn't repairable since beta SMILEY and has never been repairable and the decay rates are also the same as ever.


And once you can access Zero One you cna go there and get a new one.

Indeed, the Meson Rifles are supposed to decay super-fast for the
reasons someone stated earlier - they aren't supposed to exist in this
version of the Matrix. So enjoy them while they last and then go get
another one!



Oh, they also work great for calling Agents on you, if you're in a neighborhood where you haven't tagged the access node yet.

I bought a Heavy Meson MkII once for 1mil info...worst purchase I ever made, it broke before I even completed one mission. I have used a Stinger and Lancet ever since, and STILL using the same ones after like a year.

I would theorize that the reason the Mesons break, is because, well in the archive they are weilded by robots, who probably recharge them.  So if you take one from a robot and run around firing it, its relatively small internal power supply runs out and thus it degrades SMILEY

it makes sense.

If you have an item that decays uber fast and yet is pretty good, you'll want to go to 01 to go and get a new one every few minutes.

Going to 01 means pvp. which means elder level fun

saddly. no one cares enough about this gun (it isn't worth it)

Have task master drop better weapons/items  and give us a  better reason to go to 01 SMILEY

Actually I found out about the agent magnatisim of this weapon on EP before all the nice guns got converted over.... I've never bothered to tag most of the access nodes in the game.

Well at least we know that's what these critters definately should be doing.
