I've /bugged item stability in CR2, it seems to be very accelerated compared to the old system. I've lost over half my bandana's stability in one day of light missioning, which is absolutely unacceptable. It took weeks to level up a character and farm Sakura, and it lasts for only a short amount of time? Unnacceptable. I noticed the stability issue on QA as well, but hoped it would have been tweaked... apparently it hasn't SMILEY

I know it's been mentioned before this, but I compeltely agree.  The stability of items needs to be addressed in light of the new system and the constant rain of damage there is really no way to avoid.

Agreed

I've noticed this with my guns. Just today, in a manner of hours, I went through 2 sets of enhanced dual pistols (lvl 45's).

And gosh darnit! Coders are hardest to find when you need them to repair something! SMILEY

We should go for the removal of the decaying system. I think that has happened in other games. Its hard enough to get some items (u need to be a certain lvl, for instance, and u never get a chance to return there after lvling too much).
#35600000823 03/30/2006 09:42:26 Re: Item Stability

Yes I agree on the Item Stability part and know that the decay rate increase is
because people are getting hit much more often.  It seems that it does need
to be adjusted a bit.

Now if anyone needs a coder on recursion to repair an item then just
let me know.  If you have something special that you don't want to lose
then I will be happy to decompile it for you and then have it in my recipe
list to make future copies.  You do have to know that decompiling is not
100% success although I can get my decompile skill up to the max.
I also have a decent list of items and can quickly look up things on
my spreadsheet.  I still have to update my spreadsheet with all the
new buffs for everything.  That may take a while because I have over
3000 items that I can make.

I agree its definately a problem right now.  My bedlams lost 2 stablitiy points during a pbox 4 box.  They are easy enough to get right now but if that was a hampton drop like a needler it would have hurt.

I do remember reading a post from a dev saying they had to look into it.  I never saw a follow up to it.

at the current decay rate my new bandana and wm lenses will completely break in less then a week... this needs to get fixed ASAP otherwise those items are just useless

Okay the decay rate has been reduced. Please keep the feedback coming on what it's like with the new rate!

Do we have to wait for another patch, or was it a server-side fix? And was this on the EP server or on Live?

This was a server-side fix, on the Live servers. It was changed while the server was down to remove the Event stuff last night.

Thanks for reducing the decay.  My angelic shoes lost 2 stability points during the event and I had to repair my bedlams twice.

Did ya'll remove all the event stuff? Because I'm still seeing Blue Sky Billboards at all the venues.

Collectors are also still around. Think they'll stay till next update so you still can trade your frags/earn frag-package from the critical.

Will do. I know my draggy took a beating from that event. However oddly enough most of my other stuff suffered minimal damage. (Had a half green when CR2 went live, this morning it is now a half red... I cry for it)

I'll run around like crazy tonight trying to finish off my draggy (which I hope fails)
#35600000885 04/04/2006 16:21:58 Re: Item Stability
Well the good thing is none of my stability dropped last night...

problem is I only got to mish for about 4 hours... so I need to do more testing.

I will say it at least seems to be better already.
#35600000907 04/06/2006 07:58:39 Re: Item Stability
I still lost 1 1/2 stability points in one day on my sakura bandana, I think that is way too much, I used to not be able to lose 1/2 stability in like 4 days, please decrease it some more.
#35600000910 04/06/2006 12:15:05 Re: Item Stability
Same thing here.

My draggy died on me yesterday after just a couple missions (it was already at half red dot).

To save the poor thing I have unequiped it.
#35600000931 04/07/2006 05:07:26 Re: Item Stability
So are we going to be able to get back into the Archives to get more Widows Moor Lenses?...should they even lose stablity since they are rare drops???
#35600000944 04/09/2006 06:06:42 Re: Item Stability
Just throwing a concept out, perhaps the basic decay system could be changed so that 'purity' affects how susceptible to decay an item is, the less purity, the easier it gets damaged... BUT, you can always repair it, just have to repair it more often if it's got no 'purity' left.
So purer items are still good to have, but items are never actually 'lost' entirely.
#35600000945 04/09/2006 08:54:18 Re: Item Stability
I've lost 2 pairs of Heavenly Footwear in a few days. This is UNNACCEPTABLE.
#35600000971 04/10/2006 21:26:50 Re: Item Stability
the stabilty issue still exist...my items are losing stabilty right and left and its really annoying...

#35600000972 04/10/2006 22:53:19 Re: Item Stability
decay on some of my items seems to have slowed down quite a bit while others are slower now but still faster than pre-cr2. hasnt been long enuf to be more precise than that, sorry.. some lvl50 armored pants lost a point today while doing the antediluvian mission.. but of course, thats probly cuz of the ridiculous number of bullets sent my way =D
a thought; next time you can, tone down the decay a tad more. you can worry about fine tuning it later. its a quick and easy, and cheap, way to make the players happy. its win/win. have you ever heard of a player that wants high decay items, cuz it builds character or something? xD
#35600000976 04/11/2006 09:31:59 Re: Item Stability
We should just get rid of the decay rate on items period.

this is still a issue, my sakura bandana lost 2 purity in a 30 minute pvp battle....unacceptable imo.
#35600001445 05/27/2006 23:33:23 Re: Item Stability
I can remake all my clothes, but it takes time farming for clothing subroutines.  My shirts and weapons are only lasting a couple of days.  I looted almost 2 mil before getting a replacement Meson riffle.  My ma hit lvl 35 today, so it's not like I can keep returning to One Zero to get future replacements once I level again.
#35600001528 06/05/2006 08:01:00 Re: Item Stability
While using duelist the damage that guns take from swapping from abil to abil is far too much.

also most clothing is still taking huge damage to stability
