Alright, in that case, I would recommend going back to the PC. There is no reason it should be timing out on your PC based on a software firewall, unless you are running a software firewall with port blocking, which the Windows firewall do...

Yeah, I really doubt that is the cause. You may want to verify that the modem does not have any built in firewall, but I have certainly never heard of an internal 56k modem with one.

He is on dial-up phi. I have never heard of a dial up modem with built in firewalls, but I guess there is a first for anything. Are you on an external dial up modem provided by your ISP, or is it an internal model.
