I think it has to do with your camera position, it seems when I put my camera facing down on my character certain shades turn purple, but at steady level they look normal. I'm sure it has something to do with the reflection they are render...

The effect is great, it's actually one of my favorite that I've seen in game. But I get the notion that it makes what Seraph went through ordinary and vacuous. But regardless, it is a neat effect and will be cool to see on players.
