As it stands right now the only way your forum name will be changed is if it violates the forums TOS. This could change in the future but I'm not sure.

hmm ok I just did a test and it let me use the same name again. So I would say yes that if the name was first used on the the account then you should be able to use it again. Key word, should :/

As far as I know not matter what after a name is used you can't use it again. I could be wrong and I would expect phi or jeffers to correct me if I am .

Moderators can edit out sigs and can't edit out avatars without having to get one of the administrators to look into it, thats the only reason I can think of.
