Overall, I enjoyed the event... I liked the way there was more than one assasin to hunt. That helped with the areas not being so overcrowded. However, as someone who plays a dedicated Patcher during events (Hey, someone has to keep the team alive) I do have to question the fairness of only rewarding the player who strikes the last blow. If that is the case, a patcher would never have the oppurtunity to recieve a reward for their efforts. (I was kept very busy rezzing little wadded up players that had been crushed by the assasin *grin* ) Giving a reward to the team that does the most damage seems like it would be more equitable.

Corrupted
Spawning at player level was great. Except when they were left behind
to kill newbies. My patcher and I took on more L44-49 Corrupted than I
care to thnk about. The Corrupted should have timed out after awhile,
as the second problem (the first being newbie ganking), was there
tendency to find all the spots to get hung up and spike Server lag.
Decaying Code
This stuff was great. If had been stackable and tradable, it could have
plagued the matrix forever. PvP players would gravitate towards the
edge, whatever the risk. But without stacking we could only squirrel
away so much of it.
Decaying Code Fragments
Random, hard to piece together, boring, boring and boring. Those with
the strongest chance of sorting it out were the players who already
knew where the old haunts where anyway, who really didn't need the
fragments to go there.
Critical Missions
Were a great idea. Except they had nothing to do with the event
whatsoever. It's not like these require a great deal of real coding.
They should have been themed to sorting out the Assassin plot. Ya, know
use the critical missions to reveal the info, not just have Flood bark
it to us in system broadcast.
*Use a Mission Widget on Corrupt remains.
*Find out who attacked Ookami
*Get Insecticide
*Get Flit Gun
*Attack the Assassin (who splits and runs away, oh my, we still get to the live event!)
Live Event
The servers couldn't handle the load. People crashed and lagged so bad
they couldn't participate. Many others couldn't participate because of
a bug that prevented them from getting a Flit Gun. The most seriously
aggrieved are those who didn't want to participate, but couldn't play
the game because of the severe game-wide lag and constant attacks.
The Reward
The Fly in Amber will appease some, except those who will be robbed of
their reward again by a critical mission bug. Of course, the Masks are
vastly overpowered but in limited enough numbers that they will decay,
disappear, and be avoidable.
The Mobius Code is also neat, but won't be winning many battles. I use it to avoid having to rest as long after...whatever.
. This was the good of it.For the bad, other than lag, which I could handel, the huge crash, the area recompiling, then the inviso assassin. I didn't mind not getting the mask, but I was extreamly upset that I did not even get to see the assasin get killed, mainly because he was invisable. And he was killed 2 feet away from me, but on my screen there was nothing, nobody, and it was the same for half of my faction.
The Ugly, The way the live event was compleatly screwed up, great story, just, the way it was either ran or carried out, it was extreamly messy, I don't want to say it was unprofessional or anything, because I understand probably how hard the LET had to work to get the servers back up and then to manage them, and now how hard they are going to have to work to take care of all the screw ups. I'm just dissappointed about how it all turned out... I was extreamly devoted to this game, but now, I kind of feel like all this time I've been wasting my time. I'm a big fan of the 3 strike theory, and this was just the second strike in my book, so, I'm going to just wait out and see what else is messed up, then maby I'll cancel my account. If SOE can make a pretty decent recovery, and kind of make all those who feel kind of robbed, and crappy about it all, maby then they can redeem themselves. I was, nothing short of furious after the little incident, and I just unplugged my computer and I had the hammer in hand. Any ways, I'm still trying to vent all my anger and frustration out, so, SOE can do what they do best, and not pay any attention to it, and just ignore my opinion compleatly.
With Love,
Arandul
-The Lag - it was awfull, and lead to server crashes as you know.
-The times - I know its difficult to get it right, but im on vector,
and the assassins didn't show up till midnight, an hour after I was
able to jack into...althogh looking for him was fun, when we realised
he wasnt there and I resigned myself to not getting a peice of the
action, I felt somewhat dejected.
The good:
A whole lotta fum. Good clues. Good story and good chase. I had a great time this weekend and I know it's cause of all the hard work they made Walrus do...so thanks Walrus! You the Ma....uh whale horse!
The bad:
Lag
It's been this way in every event. Simple answer: Better servers and we know SOE's got em in a closet somewhere.
To SOE: It's an obvious issue. Every event has been like this and will be like this until you step up to the plate and throw some muscle into the hardware to help prevent server crashes.
Additonal suggestion:
Have three copies of Niobe, Flood and Agent Gray throughout megacity. One of each in a different construct. Sync them so they say the same thing at the same time. Both Recursion and Vector crashed after the Niobe speech (don't know about Syntax) so spread peeps out. If you have a Niobe in Downtown, International and Richland, for example, I will go Downtwon as a level 50 and others will be spread out too.
It was good that you did this with the Assassin, and there were still crashes (I bit it three times chasing the assassin and I am running P4 3.0 with 2mb LCache, 2 gigs Ram and NVidia 7800GTX 256mb GDDR, way above recommended specs), but the server didn't go down until you invited all of Zion to one location. So it makes sense to use the 'copies' for meetings too.

this also happened on Enumerator as well...we were always the very last to get anything happening, can't you guys mix it up a bit?
Well, for me this was near the bottom of the pile of live events for a number of reasons.
The event dates were not advertised in advance, so making plans to get out of work wasn't possible. I was online before I went into work and there was nothing particularly exciting going on (I got to kill some corrupted and got the flit gun which I had/have no use for). I stopped home on break Sunday afternoon and log on (around 5:15 cst) only to find out the event is over, and I can get some cake (small consollation).
Over the course of the weekend I was on for a total of maybe 8-10 hours and saw no LET members and didn't see the assassin once (and I was stalking his haunts). The people who read the leak also had inside knowledge of where he was going to be, and the rest of us didn't, though through the forums I had a pretty good idea. Anyhow, the frag puzzle which would have been the main thing I could have participated in (due to being at work during the entire time of any LET interation) was pretty much a moot issue due to the leak (except if I could have decyphered where the HL to the barge was).
So yeah, all in all, I give this event an F (at best a D-, because at least there was an event that moved the stagnant story forward some more). A lot due to my disappointment in feeling left out (due to the dates and schedule being kept under lock and key). Also the rewards for those 12 people seems rediculous (the buffs anyway). And it seems this fly in amber only has the effect of taking 400 of my health, unless I'm missing something?
and I really wish you guys would have made it go to the person who did the most damage cause its not fair that FA had done 99% of the damage to one assassin and one guy came in and did one attack or so and got the item. Congrats to the guys but still...

should have done a different system that gave out rewards to factions,

happened to be at the right place at the right time./end rant*sigh*
frustrated. Fighting him was cool and it was a joint effort by
all of FA, but we have nothing to show for it even if it.
the Assassin since a week before The Hunt for Morpheus Event. I think
that would be like 5 to 6 months. So after all the times trying to kill
him, and fight him, all I get is this little piece of cake. I mean
don't get me wrong, I like the live events, but I wish I would have
gotten something more from this since I have been chasing him for the
longest time.
I Think the event ran alot more smoothly "at least for me" than the
past ones and i also think the masks were definitly a cool add on and
actuly gave us more of a reason to win.
One thing i think needs to change in the next event is the way that
system messages are broadcasted alot of our players have rep with
different orgs but are machinests and were receiving transmissions
based on their rep and not affiliation.
Not only does this alienate more RP oriented players but it has the
potential to give greifers especialy on a hostile server the
oppurtunity to crash events.
Another thing if possible i would like to see implemented is the
ability to keep players from casting passive abilities especialy
patcher AOEs at org meetings.
Although i am on a good computer and a good connection i even lagged a
bit when they were spamming those at Agent Paces event at avalon .
One thing i feel was a definiate trade mark to live events of the past
was the amount of un scripted player interaction that the team had with
players alot of us including me consider this the next matrix movie and
want nothing more than to have a few words with these new heros and
villians of the matrix.
Although from a control standpoint i can see ghosting LET people
because you were most likely being spammed with 100s of tells a minute
i feel this really alienates the RPers like myself from what we
considered the best part of the LETs of past.
There are alot of guilds in this game that have worked very hard to put
their org on the map and even build it to what it is today.
They deserve to have special recognition for this just like the people
who got the masks deserve to have it for getting the last hit on the
assassin.
I feel giving buffed items would be rather out of line and cause even
more issues of favoritism which we dont need but i feel having meetings
like in the past would definitly be in order to these groups that have
worked hard since the game was released in march.
Many of us play this game strictly for the story although i love PvP
and my guild this is definitly the biggest factor that keeps me playing
at this point in time being that in real life im a avid matrix fan and
memorbilia collecter. One thing i could suggest in the future is
definitly keeping detailed records of these events as well.
One of my guild members who goes by the name of Tetracleric was very
active in the matrix story and is a avid RPer such as myself he was one
of the few lucky people to have a personal meeting with the oracle many
meetings with flood and the merovingian and had dealings with the
cypherites ookami and more.
All of the records of his dealings with these charecters has been since
lost due to the fact that no LE records were transfered to sony after
the take over.
Although i would love to see the new team continue to recognize him for
his acomplishments at the shaper event as well as other ones i must say
thats an un realistic request. What i can suggest for future
players to have a much more smooth experiance is for you guys to keep
records of what happens to actuly follow through with what you say in
rp for instance if a player establishes a connection to a charecter go
hunting npcs with them for a few moments RP it out stuff like this
means the world to alot of us although its a rather small and easy
thing to do.
Another thing would be to possibly better utilize mega city in your live events especialy in private meetings.
There are many interesting off the map areas of this game which im sure
your all aware of why not use these instead of teleporting the mask
bearers to a building in tabor park wouldnt a dojo be more suitable for
a charecter such as seraph?
This last thing i request i may come under alot of heat for but i feel it might be needed to run events more smoothly on vector.
Maybe we should consider disabling pvp in certian areas for the events
on the hostile server it would help them run alot more smoothly for us
and for the team and considering these events are not that long in
duration or in frequency i think it would be a rather small trade off
to have a succesful and fun event.
Anyways thanks sony for carrying on the LET alot of us apreciate the
work your putting into this and were looking forward for the next event.
Trucidos
1. Flit Gun. A weapon that damaged the Assassin no matter
what level a player was. Lower level players could get in a few
shots and contribute to the event. Very good idea. I
remember what it was like being a low-level during an event, not being
able to contribute much to the cause.
2. Splitting the Assassin into four separate entities. Kept
the entire population of the server from showing up in one area,
reducing the stress on the server. It probably saved some players
from crippling lag, but didn't prevent server crashes (at least on
Recursion)
The Bad
1. Server crashes. A few areas of Recursion timed out
during the battles and afterward at the Zion meeting with Niobe, making
it near impossible for some players to participate in the event.
The Ugly
1. The Assassin. Toilet Face was a compliment :smileywink:

I thought he was cute.
on topic:
The good: Sense of community
The bad: The lag, the complaining of the mask
The ugly: NO AFTER-PARTIES IN RECURSION! /cry
As for the event I really liked it, the overall sense of community was
what I liked about it the most. Just seeing all those people in Midian
was crazy but fun at the same time.
I wasn't around for much of the event (which I'll touch on later) but
apparently there was a lot of issues with lag (Lag? In MxO? NEVER!)
I don't know the technical nuances of this game but it seems to me that
something is not right with it. I've seen screenshots from other MMOGs
with loads of players. Hell I've seen VIDEOS of the same thing. The
screenshots are not accompanied by "And then the server crashed just
after this" and the videos are not stutter-fests.
If other modern MMOGs can achieve this, then this game should be able
to as well. Either the coding is fundamentally flawed or the database
isn't streamlined enough or whatever, but it simply HAS to be fixed.
Masks were handed out to those that landed the killing blow. Yet
everyone knows when there are a large group of people, whatever happens
is purely a matter of luck.
I was standing in Kedemoth with ten CoZ the other day and I was lagging. TEN PEOPLE. Something is seriously wrong there.
2. Timing
Once again, anyone that wasn't within an hour or two of your timezone
got shafted. Everything happened at about 1am BST which is
unacceptable, no arguments.
Saturday night I finally got some time to stay up. The Assassin
"apparently" showed himself at about midnight. So we tried to find him.
"He's at X!" shout factionmates. We all run to X.
"He's at Y!" shout factionmates. We try to run to Y but only half of us
make it because after the first 20 people get through a hardline it
turns red (see Point 1. Lag)
The fact was he wasn't at ANY of these places. What sort of an event is
this? As I said at the time, if I wanted to do this sort of thing I'd
just get drunk Sunday night, lose my car keys somewhere in the house
then run around like a headless chicken on Monday morning.
At about twenty to 1 I went to bed because I got sick of it.
Also, how did my factionmates know the location to start with? Well they were listening to Awakened Radio. See Point 3. Communication.
There are ways around this, but ever since the first event things have
been this way and I'm amazed that with the tools at their disposal, the
team cannot come up with something better.
For example, have the Oracle as an NPC at a particular location. Have
Seraph as an active LET, stopping her being "Guarded" by arsehole
players. If that happens he can just stand next to her and move them
out the way, or even force them to reconstruct.
In the meantime he can stand around and duel people, conduct roleplay,
make everyone feel like they got to be a part of the event and meet
Seraph and the Oracle whilst getting the info they require from the
Oracle NPC.
I don't know who you employ as LET but it seems if they aren't willing
to do something like that then you need new staff. It's almost like the
LET show up reluctantly and only when they absolutely have to. If I was
given the chance I'd be on roleplaying with people all day, and all
night if I was on the night shift!

See Point 4. LESIG
3. Communication
Once again, communication was terrible. We got spammed by Tyndall
telling us the Assassin had fought Ookami about 10 times in 5 hours and
we were to rally behind blahblahblah but nothing actually happened
(until 1am that night, woo.)
The most information came through Awakened Radio. I was never a big fan of RFZ and I'm not of AWR. It's just a personal thing.
The few times I've put it on it just seems to be the stereotypical
"something loud with people shouting" that seems to be so popular
amongst people of "our age group" (i.e. 16 to 21, I'm 20)
I like that kinda thing but not all the friggin time. Apparently
precious few DJs have ever heard of variety and expanding your range.
Don't get me wrong I'm sure there are a few guys that do play a wide
variety but I ain't hearing it.
That's sort of besides the point. My point there was I don't listen to
it because I can enjoy my own music a lot more. But it seems that, by
NOT listening, I am being denied information.
Part of an event should be keeping us informed. Having that sole method
be via an unofficial radio station is not acceptable. Flash traffic
wasn't used at all IIRC after being hyped up under 'Lith.
4. LESIG
We've heard that this is "being worked on" (for the nth time). I'm sure
it is - I know from experience trying to keep things fresh in CoZ how
long it takes to implement big things.
However we've also been told that they will not be playing movie characters.
If that means they can play *new* MAIN characters (The Assassin, Ookami, Masked Men, etc) then that's fine.
However if by movie characters you include those, then I don't see how LESIG is going to make a blind bit of difference.
There is some real talent in the game who would do the characters a
great justice if you provided them with the necessary tools and
information. I'd kill for the chance to play a main character because I
love roleplaying and could finally give something back to the game and
the community.
5. Format
To be honest I don't really know what to suggest otherwise, but the standard formula is getting a little stale.
1. NPCs pop up and we have to kill them
2. NPCs start dropping stuff, we have no idea what its for. Some of us keep it, some recycle it
3. First "Super NPC" shows his/her/its face.
4. Half the players attack it with stuff they looted.
5. Other half attack with no effect and have to run around trying to loot the suddenly pitifully-few NPCs.
6. Super NPC disappears.
7. Super NPC reappears the next day and people run around trying to find it.
8. Server crashes
9. Meetings are held, giving out pretty much no new information
10. Server crashes again.
You see where this is going.
6. Use of missions
I think that, if LET is going to be scaled down, we are going to be less involved and get less info.
NOTE. Killing NPCs is not much fun, doesn't give us any information, and is generally pretty crap.
Critical missions rock. They give us tonnes of storyline info and are great ways to pass on important items (Flit gun, etc)
Why not give us more and work with them better? Currently the missions
are a precursor to the event. Some people don't even realise they're
there and are left wondering EVEN MORE what is going on.
Tie the storyline into the missions more. That way we get more missions
which can be done at our own pace and without crippling lag and
crashes. We get more information given to us, everyone is happy.
I think the event-specific criticals where great - getting the flit
gun, and the fly in amber from them. Although, I would've liked to see
more use for the flit gun here (a mission to take out a particularily
powerful corrupted, for instance - or having weak remnants of the
assassin hiding either in the Memento Mori mission, or another one.)
The return of the fly virus and thus a small 'bonus' to those who kept their fly virus immunity was neat.
As previously, I found it was quite unpredictale how the Corrupted
spawned - several times it seems one had to'kill-steal' corrupted off
of other players in order to get them to spawn.
Good to see the appearance of LET characters to a larger extent than I
was expecting (although I'm not really sure why Zion and Machine
players were allowed to buy cake off the cake vendor - if that was
intentional, or a mix-up...not that it really matters.)
The puzzle to find the assassin was kind of cool, although there were
so many pieces that it was nigh impossible to get them all for a single
player, or even a smaller faction.
The decaying code...interesting concept, though it would have been
better if they stacked, like consumables. It seemed to me that the
Corrupted dropped decaying code much more often than code fragments
(for me, it seemed to be a ratio of 1 code fragment for every 10
decaying codes...)
The Assassin: Splitting up into several weaker(?) versions was a cool
idea, and giving those who killed each instance the Assassin's Mask was
a good concept. As many others have said, however, maybe the mask
should have gone to the person who did the most damage instead of the
one who landed the killing blow.
I like the fact that the mask is very powerful, but like so many others
I think it was too powerful. I think the CT shouldn't have been on
there, and the health and IS regen should have been lower (50% maybe).
But I see no reason to 'remove the buffs' or 'give everyone a mask'
like some people are yelling about. I also like the fact that it was
tradeable, since it is a completely unique item, never to be seen again
(we hope...).
In addition, it could've been cool if his gun and/or coat had also been
given out - that way one item could've been given to the person who
landed the killing blow, one to the person who did the most damage, and
maybe one to the person who landed the first blow...
Except for the issues with the mask and the 'little mix-up' at the
beginning of the event, I think this was a good first one for SoE. I
heard there was horrible lag, but since I wasn't there myself I can't
really say. That is something which seems to be a constant problem,
though, and I hope it's being addressed anyway.
This is a little disturbing as I've personally yet to participate in
any LE's - which reminds me, was this a brief event then??
(90%) on Vector. Listening to the MxO radio stations teased me
with all the action on other servers, where the event happenings seemed
to hold out for hours. I spent most of the morning/afternoon
online holding out for my piece of the action and eventually took an
hour off for real life. I came back to find that the assasins had
finally shown up, in the expected locations, and that the event was
already over.
I would be less upset over this if I had any confidence that further
events would take place within the next month, but experience shows
that to be highly unlikely.
No flit gun... pffft. Thanks a million...
All right, where to start... I've been holding out for a while to see all what popped up so here's my take on all of this...
The
buffs don't need to be removed as it stands now. The masks are
only four to a server people. If everyone got one it still wouldnt be
game breaking, it would just change the playing field around a little
(I wouldn't advocate that though. Would do nothing as far as a feeling
of accomplshment).
The whole combat system is being thrown out the window semi-soon
anyway, so who cares. The buffs are FINE, leave that aspect of things
alone as all it accomplishes is an admittance of jealousy.
The
method in which it was acquired, however, was utter garbage (har har).
Before I get to that, here is a little sarcastic joke I see here and
there that I want to address. It goes somthing like this:
"OMG I didn't win the lottery like (insert arbitrary number here) people, *CENSORED* unfair they dont deserve the prize."
I
have seen many instances of it. Whoever first thought that up may think
they are clever, and then others follow suit or simply agree... but
theres a glaring logical fallacy in it. You ready for it?
IT SHOULD NOT HAVE BEEN A LOTTERY IN THE FIRST PLACE!
All
12 of the people who got their mask deserve it under the system which
was in place, it is that system where the anger and resentment should
be projected. It's like only paying the construction worker who nailed the last board rather than the team that built the house. Any way you spin it, that is completely bogus.
Go
ahead, cite that Paul Chadwick comment about lifting the final critical
shovel, and I'll say it is still a horrible loot system and I doubt
anyone was thinking of it. Irrelavent to the fact.
Go ahead and
say that the event was leaked and we already knew ahead of time, and
I'll say that it is still a horrible loot system and no one thought
they would be the sole benefactors. Irrelavent to the fact.
Speaking
of spinning, I'm sure some of you will turn the words around in my
construction worker anology with this lovely little sentance, which I
have seen frequently anytime someone pipes up about their work in
reigning in the masked menace:
"What are you talking about, this isn't work its a game, blah blah blah etc."
Well,
I hope these people first of all realize it is an analogy, you know...
a situation that is similar in some aspects to prove a point? But
beyond that it's all just semantics. Hell, let's just play out this
little word game shall we? What is "work" then... Let's define it.
work (wûrk)
n.
- Physical or mental effort or activity directed toward the production or accomplishment of something.
- A job; employment: looking for work.
- A trade, profession, or other means of livelihood.
- Something
that one is doing, making, or performing, especially as an occupation
or undertaking; a duty or task: begin the day's work. - An amount of such activity either done or required: a week's work.
- Something
Ah
the joys of semantic debate. Word's have so many meanings, but one
ususally stands out as the key. To say that because it is a game and
therefor not work is evident that some people just don't know what work
is. Somthing that is fun can (and often does) constitute a physical or
mental effort, and in the case of an MMO, you are aquiring levels,
abilities, items, money,
influence, and friends as an accomplishment. Argue that its all
virtual? Off topic. Irrelavent to the fact. Work is present regardless
of the substance of the accomplishment, and furthermore is required to
partake in the enjoyable aspects of the game.
If you want to be a nitpick and decide
to use one of the other definitions there (there are many more) you can
go even further and say that there are people who enjoy their work. I
have a question though... tell me, who of you derive enjoyment from
GRINDING, hmm? I suspect not many, but at the same time people can
realize it's necessity in an MMO therefor bolstering my point.
Now,
do I think people have a right to feel cheated? Yeah, damned right I
do. The whole last hit loot thing was a slap in the face to everyone.
How they thought the majority of the community would not be angry and
resentful is beyond me. In addition, the fact that it is tradeable is a
joke. No one is going to trade that thing for anything less than real
world currency.
Now lets get down to why I personally am
annoyed. I spent the better part of that day looking for anything
suspicious in the Lucero Point and Stamos vicinity. I was looking
for the non-existant hidden hardline, and a few FA joined me there
while the rest were spread out at the four points. My goal was to
accomplish somthing for the faction, not just myself. To my surprise,
the Assassin found Orien in the Stamos construction site, and from
there we all flocked to track him down and began killing him. For the
longest time it was just us, and a few others appeared. We pumped
massive amounts of damage into Lord of the Flies, and when it was all
over someone else (who I must once again point out I am not angry with
for they did nothing wrong) gets all the credit from Seraph as well as
a mask.
Tell me, in what freaking universe does that make ANY sense? This backwards one that the devs concocted, apparently.
In
other stories I have read where the person who recieved the mask was an
active member of the damaging team/faction, and for that I am glad.
Your hard work paid off and I applaud you for it, three cheers. Our's
didn't, and not a single one of you can tell me truthfully that I am
wrong in feeling cheated. You would too.
Anyone who is running
around denouncing people for feeling cheated is just as angry, I'll
reckon, and is using that as an outlet for their frustrations. Anyone
who is attacking people and calling them whiners are, to me, in a
pot-and-kettle situation (i.e. a hypocrit). The claims are legitimate
and you are not. YOU can get over it.
That is all.
pretty much word for word what you said, so thanks for saving me the
time. :smileytongue:
Seriously though, your dead on with every word you wrote in that post. Those were my feelings EXACTLY over this event.

for the non-existant hidden hardline"
That reminds me of another point I meant to make.
In the cinematic we see the Assassin on his barge getting out via a
strange hardline. We also get told things about "a secret hardline
system" and hear things related to the Coroner's office in Downtown.
AFAIK absolutely nothing was made of this in the event.
Bonopi and other CoZ spent ages looking for the hidden hardline,
scouring Uriah (where we thought the barge was based on background in
the cinematics), etc.
Hell we've even catalogued (actually pretty much Bonopi) the meanings
and definitions behind district names, contact names, monument names,
and so forth.
So off we went to stake out all these places which seemed destiny-bound to be tied to the Assassin, and got nothing.
**When I say "we" I mean CoZ. I hardly played as the lag was unbearable whenever I got on.
2. Lag issues: Try to find a way to deal with it, the hunt for the
assassin was pretty laggy, but the worse lag i got was on the
orginasation meeting.
3. Moore riddles: Feels like this one was too easy
4. Leak: I forgive you, but that killed alot of suprises
5: Rewarding items: The person who dealt the most damage on the
assassin should have gotten the mask......and becasue information was
leaked any person could have just awaited to give the final blow.
Other than that, SoE first event was pretty good, nothing wrong with
the buffs on the maskes. Good cinematics...introducing new
characters....and a fun hunt eventhou there was lag.
Though I appreciate how hard you must work, the event was a big
disappointment. Especially on Vector, I'm from UK so I had to wait till
like 1am to for the event to start! And the lag was unbearable, cant
you or SOE get better servers? Bringing people together fair enough,
but make sure you have a good enough server to cope with it first.
PLEASE sort out the lag problems with this game, it really kills the
game. And I can imagine there are plenty of people who have or
considering leaving for good, if you sort this out and have more live
events then we will all be very happy!:smileywink:
Well theres no place to start but from the begining so here goes:
The good: um...some ppl got a item at the end of the event. Although buffed it just makes it that much more rare, however its tradable? hm..
The Bad: The fly in amber takes away 350hp or so and gives you 35 IS? im sure some ppl will want to sacrifice there health for more IS to either hyper jump away or escape interlock.
The Ugly: Lag, crashing, time outs, object server issues, Player already attempting to load errors, more lag. Just the luck of the draw to try to even get in game to play in the event, trying to get to the location of the assassin is even more luck, and to try to be the one that did the last hit wins the lottery.
Stress test the servers after a merger before an event so that the event that does come up doesnt get crashed out. Also have events that require farming mobs that spawn to spawn a little faster than 10 mins. If doing a mission have the event mobs not spawn, im sure a lot of ppl were mad about being killed by corrupted as they were doing missions.
The person controlling the assassin did a fine job, but i heard that he ran into areas where it was recompling and others could not follow. Even the assassin crashed a few times on recrusion and came back with full health.
We lost one of the coolest characters we have seen in this game to date
Could ya also post event times of the live events in a week or more in advanced so we can get time off to attend said event? also would be nice to have LET characters in game once in awhile during NON Event times to talk to certian players or factions and RP a bit.

I know I'm just repeating what others are saying but thats the point.
1. Event Times: really un-friendly to non-North American players. It would be nice to have one Euro server again although that would cause the problem of players having to start all over with new characters. At least times should be posted. Yeah that takes away the surprise element but its a lot better than playing 6 hours straight only to get no event at all.
2. Lag, lag, lag: even when I was able to be around at event times the game was unbearably slow. Couldn't teleport to important places and even got booted from the system and wasn't allowed to return on numerous re-log-in attempts.
For people to feel these events are worthwhile you need to make them accessible to as many people as possible. Players really need to feel involved in the action, and I just don't.

smelled. Worthless waste of bandwidth. If you can't do any better than
this, why bother? Two trinkets of almost no use, one of which had
nothing to do with the event, was no compensation for the days of
annoying crap as we had to tolerate constant corrupted attacks.
Loot distribution for the masks was garbage.
Yeah, that sums this nicely.
Typical SOE garbage.
