One of what everyone else said  and ...

The Corrupt spawns were just out of control. We had level 40s and 50s (players) leaving two corrupt behind them when they HL'd out of a location in the barrens and the slums, making it near impossible to use HLs to do missions without the death effect.

I'd suggest the Corrupt left behind that way despawn after a few minutes. Honestly, I dodged the same pair of lvl 48 corrupt in Stamos for over an hour - each time I went back, thinking they'd be gone. I certainly don't blame the higher level players for this in any way. The corrupt would sometimes spawn right as their target HL'd out, so I'm sure they didn't realize they had left a deathtrap behind for us lower levels. It's just something that should be addressed in future events.

Probably would have been my favorite event had it not been for crashing at every important juncture. A variety of important LE characters were involved, but I missed nearly every one of them due to timing out.

I liked the story. I liked having to find the Assassin's locations through the clues (this is ignoring the unfortunate leak of info); I liked the idea of killing him (done nicely by dividing him into copies to give multiple chances to destroy him); and I just liked the overall atmosphere of pervading danger throughout the event. It's just a shame all of this was marred by the constant lag and crashing I experienced. It honestly caused me so much grief that I cancelled my subscription.

Maybe this issue will be addressed in the future and I'll return to this game that I had such high hopes for.

#10300000697 10/02/2005 20:36:20 Re: Death of the Destroyer: Feedback Thread
You know me, I'm a straight shooter.

The Good

- Welcome back to live event wonderland.  This is the reason I bought this game, so I'm glad to see it continue.

- Flit Gun = Awesome.  Sure, some people said it was stupid
becuase they will never use it again, but the whole fact that you put
it in, and gave it a pretty nice animation makes it worthwhile.
It gives me confidence that there are plenty of things in this game
that I don't know about and always something new to see.

- It gave a fitting end to the Assassin, and I think the story was
something everyone universally understood, instead of having people
walk away going "What just happened..." The debriefing was definetly
the best, because it gave that satisifying ending to the event.

- The sky.  Everyone loved the sky.  I don't think there was
a person that didn't feel an omninous sense of doom from the sky. We
need more environmental indicators of what is going on.  This was
a great start.

The Bad

- The "Pseudo-LET" characters, such as Flood, or Tyndall, or Agent
Gray, who were set to spam those annoying messages.  It's nice
making it look like the LET is around, but that was just annoying,
useless, and people are going to pass on the information from a
character's system message speech anyway.  It just needs to be
said once and then posted on Data Node One, not spammed 50,000 times.

- Entire Organization Meetings are still a bad idea.  Especially this event because of crashing (see, "The Ugly", below).

- The Leak, but as everyone else said, that can be forgiven.  People would have spammed the locations everywhere anyway.

The Ugly

- Server crashes.  Why do I keep thinking that if the Merger
didn't happen, we would have less crashing, or no crashing?  The
servers are overloaded for live event purposes.  That needs to be
addressed, pronto.

- The Assassin's Mask.  I do not agree with the mask's buffs or
the way it was distributed.  Masks should not go to people who
simply get lucky.  I even said at one point that I could have run
in from my position at where I thought the "secret hardline" was and
get in a killing blow on an Assassin without doing any of the work to
injure him or bring him down to that last 1% of his health.  I
could have popped in and gotten a killing blow by complete
accident.  That's not right.

Also, I was expecting that the Mask would just be a nice wearable item
that would commemorate the death of the Assassin.  It does NOT
need those buffs.  No item needs what that mask provides.
That's probably what angers me the most about the Mask.  Sure,
give it to 5 people.  But don't give just 5 people a stupidly
powerful item.  I'd rather have a non-functioning mask with
perfect purity than a super buffed mask with crap purity.

-The lack of the secret hardline.  I do think that it could have
been pulled off, and it would have made the event that much more
cooler.  This is why, during the entire event, I was trying to
figure out where the "secret hardline" was.  And when I thought I
had it, I camped it, thinking the Assassin would run in, use it, and
then I could tail him personally on his barge.  As it turns out, I
was following a completely false lead, and I missed out all of the
other Assassin parts.

Why did I do this?  I knew that I wouldn't feel right if I had ran
in and gotten a cheap killing blow and gotten the mask.  I wanted
to work for a mask by locating his hardline and getting the ultimate
honor of seeing his barge.  It could have been done.  I know
you guys could have done it.  But no.  I wasted my time with
something that didn't exist.  That hurts.  I could have been
out doing more, but I wasted all of my time on something everyone
thought existed, but really didn't.

Overall Event Grade: D+

This simply isn't the quality that I've seen with The Race to Find the
One, Nightfall (especially Nightfall), and The Hunt for Morpheus.
I thought Sony were the kings of the online world, as they like to tell
people.  I thought that WB sold The Matrix Online to Sony because
they were better equipped.  I thought we were here with Sony
because they knew what they were doing with online games.  But it
seems that from Sony's decision to merge our servers, we've been
screwed out of what could have been a better live event.  It also
seems that we lost what was an experienced Monolith LET team that was
just starting to really get things together and going, and now we're
back in square 1.

I pray for the LESIG.  I really do.

The Good:

LET interaction, and a live event. Better than nothing....kinda.

The Bad

Waiting for hours for the Assassin to come, then when he did, he
didn't show up at every spot, and then the Org leaders had their
meetings 20 mins after he came....I don't even think he died in some
places.

The Ugly

The whole mask reward idea. Why would you reward players that
simply jack in, get told to go somewhere by their faction mates, press
a button, and kill the greatest foe ever in MxO, (One player who got
the mask told me this was exactly how he got his, and laughed at his
luck) while other players wait 10 hours for him to come, then nearly
kill him, only to be killed by unblockable lightning and watch
helplessly as he runs away to be killed by a player with 1 day of
playing time. This entire idea was just horrible. The last player who
hits him gets the mask? Wow..just wow what a horrible idea....I don't
know what you could have been smoking when coming up with this
idea....but clearly anyone who understands this game at ALL would not
have gone through with this....

How to fix it:  Take away the buffs on the Assassin mask, and give every player who did damage a TRADEable mask.

#10300000699 10/02/2005 20:39:01 Re: Death of the Destroyer: Feedback Thread
oh yea!!!

whats up with this whole side story on the general with the criticals and cinematic and there's nothing to do with it for the event...whats up with that? lol

it just seems that the last cinematic with the barge should have been released for this one and the general one should be for the next event...all the LET characters even referenced that barge cinematic for this event as if it was for this one...are we one ahead of the storline with them now?
#10300000700 10/02/2005 20:39:33 Re: Death of the Destroyer: Feedback Thread

The Good:

Nice to see a live event again. Had TONS of fun. Took out tons of corrupted. Had great fun chasing the assassin on saturday. Don't judge my enjoyment of the Event by the shortness of the paragraph in the Good. :robotvery-happy:

The Bad:

Lack of character interaction. I know you guys are busy but this is an area that could be improved. This weekend I catch wind of the Oracle at debir court, by the time i get there.. gone. I get a message about an urgent meeting after waiting all day at the church in manssen (no assassin despite a clue pointing there ... ) and get kicked along with most of the people there. Get back.. meeting over and Niobe gone. Never even saw her or heard a word she said. Had to hear third hand that the assassin was dead and the event is over. Pet Peeve of mine. I've seen lots of the assassin. Got crushed by him many times over the months. But what about the folks who are supposed to be on our side? *shrugs and looks around*

I left another game because MxO has the LET characters. I put up with a great deal of things, bugs, lag, transitions, scaling back of events, just because there are these things called Live Events and LE Characters here. I'm happy just to sit there and listen to speeches to be honest, but there isn't enough of it ... AND ... I'm still not a happy camper about you all taking Morpheus out of the scene. I thought this would have been a great time to bring him back but I guess you all have your plans eh? It just mystifies me why you would remove him from the picture in the first place.

The meetings inside clubs, which lag a lot of people anyway it seems, should be moved to somewhere less likely to crash and kick everyone. In my opinion. The old meetings in places like parks seemed to work pretty well.

The Ugly:

Low level new redpills in my faction were getting pwned by much much higher level Corrupted. This was, of course, incredibly frustrating for them. I'm not talking about standing around at Mara C. They were out trying to do missions not teamed with a high level person. Surely there must be some way to make it so event mobs ignore somebody twenty or thirty levels lower than them, or at least not spawn and go after them.

You know what... I think we are....

#10300000702 10/02/2005 20:47:55 Re: Death of the Destroyer: Feedback Thread
There wasnt enough RP in this event. Some of the most fun i've had in
this game was RPing with the LET characters. This event had no RPing at
all, everything was just figure this out and run here.  Although I
did have fun during this event, I enjoy interacting with others and
Roleplaying above all. This event just made me feel like I was under a
time crunch, that I had to get so much done in X amount of
hours/minutes or i'd miss everything.  Spread it out more and add
more organization contacts whom you can talk to.

#10300000703 10/02/2005 20:56:58 Re: Death of the Destroyer: Feedback Thread
The Good

1. We got a Live event and there were actual LET and not just npc's thrown in.

2. Being able to track the assassin through the event again brought back good memories of the Hunt for Morpheus event.

3.  Fighting corrupt and piecing together the puzzle was fun even with the leak.

4. Lag was not as bad as past events.

5. One of the better live events to date.

6. Merv Cake

7. The Sky was really cool.

The Bad

1. No way of knowing if LET was on at any time because we couldnt add to Vector.

2. Couldnt send tells and interact with org leaders or the Assassin.

3. Would have liked to see LET ingame more than for about 30 min at a time.

The Ugly

1. The way the reward system was handled - It was more a game of luck

2. The Decayed codes didnt stack

#10300000704 10/02/2005 21:01:29 Re: Death of the Destroyer: Feedback Thread

This event was very bad im afraid. I have partisapated in the last two in way way or another on a ground floor bases.

FIrst the info leaking was not acceptable. I know people make mistakes but the event was ruined at that point because people knew where to go.

Secondly being unable to send LET characters privet messages kills the aspect of involving yourself with the story and on a small scale changing the matrix.

Three the assassin mask think should have been planned out better. I Know its not SOE's fault MOnolith has prepared so much infomation and such for future events.

#10300000705 10/02/2005 21:25:47 Re: Death of the Destroyer: Feedback Thread

I'll keep my reply short, since i'm sure none of this will be read anyways.

On syntax, my faction and I were staked out at the church of the deciples, one of the 5 places the assassin was supposed to appear. However, he didnt show up... So there we were, among many other players waiting for hours for the assassin to show up, and he doesnt come. Thats enough to really get you steamed. Since he never came to our location, i cant say much else. From what it sounds like, that mask basically makes whoever wears it invincible. And there was no proper distribution. The flit gun is useless now, and we have received nothing for participating in the event except for those 5 very lucky people, who i'm sure will have glorious things to say about this event..... My rant ends.

Well, I wrote my little rant in another topic, but I'll respond to this one as well...

Good

- Nice to see another Live Event

- Pacing did feel a little slow, but it was great to see the new sky and an increase in the corrupted spawn rates... it really did feel like The Matrix was heading to hell in a handbasket.

- Even without a ton of variety and some questionable balance, the constantly spawning corrupted made the world more dangerous and fighting them off was something else to do

- Private LET interaction with selected people/factions... even if my faction wasn't chosen, it was great to at least know they are still doing it

Bad

- The time of the conclusion was too early.  I'm not the only one who feels that things should have happened at least an hour or two later, and things shoud have been controlled such that it didn't end in 20 minutes.

- Suckage for lower level players.  I don't think a level 12 should be able to take out the Assassin or anything  (unless they get REALLY lucky) but lower level players couldn't even run missions without a higher level escort because of the high level corrupted left roaming the streets and rooftops.

Ugly

- I'd say the server stability and lag issues, but I missed the conclusion entirely so I can't speak on them.

- Annoying problems... Gray seemed to dislike spam in the new machine criticals, but then he started using it himself.  Implement in-game email, send everyone the appropriate email containing the alert message once.  Problem solved.

Sad

- Me... finally an event where Seraph, my favorite character, plays a decent role and I miss every single time he's on or around.

A few suggestions:

- Even more LET interaction. Sure the LET shouldn't be out and about contacting everyone, as that would just water down their effect, but the chance should be there to experience communication with them at all times, whether there's an event going on or not.  And I mean real communication, not someone reading a script and then disappearing.

- If there is not going to be a scheduled "event time" or even a scheduled "hot window" then there should be another way of letting people from numerous time zones and with varying schedules actually experience the critical parts of the LEs.

- We need to be able to know when something is going on.  I don't listen to Awakened Radio but, even if I did, I find it odd that I would have to rely on a 3rd party outside source to fill me in on what's happening.  I don't have a TON of contacts and I don't have a huge faction, so I can't just spam /t's until I find someone who knows something.  At least having the LET on our buddy lists gave us an idea when something was going to happen, but now we can't even do that.

In conclusion, this LE was far from terrible, but there is major room for improvement.  Get that LESIG going, and make sure that their suggestions (and demands) actually get listened to and implemented.
#10300000707 10/02/2005 21:29:56 Re: Death of the Destroyer: Feedback Thread

Overall I rate it just okay.  There was a lot of potential and possibly it was a great event on the other servers, but on Vector, it was a bit of a let down.

It was a great to have 5 Assassins to try and spread out the lag issue and let more people be involved. Maybe 10 would have been better though.  It was an awesome idea though and I hope future events are like that.  Unfortunatly, he was way too easy to kill on Vector.  10 minutes and they were all dead?  I have had longer and more engaging battles in Mara.  An entire weekend of build up and anticipation for an ending that lasted10 minutes.  If I had gotten up to get a drink, I would have missed it.  I am sure everyone is complaining about that, so this is more of a /sign.

I agree that It was very difficult to target or see him because his name was red and so many other red names were mixed with his, but thats just part of making it more difficult to kill him.  But I think his abilty to slow down your movement when you are already dealing with lag was a personal kick to the face.

The server crashed when everyone ran to jacob's ladder and after everyone was able to get back on, why not resume with the planned meeting?

There seemed to be a lot of leaks, so I didn't even try to figure anything out on my own.  It felt pointless when you know everyone else already knows.

#10300000708 10/02/2005 22:59:59 Re: Death of the Destroyer: Feedback Thread
Spread the events out, so its not only in Richland (and therefore crashing the server)

Some sort of warning of something needs to be put in, as well as Flash traffic be used (remeber that thing you devs worked so hard to get going for an evert ?)

Event timing - need to let everyone enjoy the event (as opposed to corrupted shooting up everyone everywhere). Time events to happen in peak time for non-us players as well as other timezones, not just PST.

Other than that, nothing else to add other than I really didn't enjoy this event. The storyline is going way off the rails as far as I'm concerened, and personally, am not willing to renew based on the last month or so...
#10300000711 10/02/2005 23:40:38 Re: Death of the Destroyer: Feedback Thread
Spread the events out, so its not only in Richland (and therefore crashing the server)

The event was overall enjoyable for me, it was kind of the same as every other event but any event was better then no event in my opinion.

I'm not complaining about the mask's as I simply don't care about what the buffs are, if the people complaining about the mask had it....5 bucks says they wouldn't complain about the buffs.

As for 'only in Richland' I do believe the LET does that so even the Lower Level characters have a chance to participate(Sorry, it isnt strictly level 20+'s that take place in LETS) and Richland is generally a fair and equal place for the events to happen so players of all levels can enjoy it without worrying about Agents or purple mobs ruining it.
#10300000712 10/02/2005 23:59:58 Re: Death of the Destroyer: Feedback Thread
The event was great, except for the crashing at meetings.

One thing I really loved was the critical missions placed during
certain parts of the events. Makes all players feel more involved. I
hope to see more of those type of criticals in future events.

Edit: One thing though I would love to see is in criticals released
over the period of the event (such as the two we got in this event) is
some kind of hostiles to fight. An example would be in the mission for
the Fly in Amber, it would have been nice to fight off a couple more
Corrupted... So it's kind of like an aftermath clean up to the event.

#10300000713 10/03/2005 00:21:19 Re: Death of the Destroyer: Feedback Thread
Basically most of the events to date have followed the same
formula.  This has produced every time insane lag, crashes and
frustration.   Methinks the future of the events reside in
more player vs. player interaction combined with the format of the
regular missions such as :

1) don´t let X die / lead X to point Y (where X is a storyline character)

2) bring to Y collector X drops (which drops are informed at the
starting time of the event and need to be farmed in a haste) ... etc

Avoid the lagfest by having the possibility to achieve the objectives
at multiple locations simultaneously and inform properly in system chat
when the task is achieved and by whom.

There should be 1 general reward for all that participate (that is
complete the criticals prior to the event) and a special one for the
team (the whole team) that achieves the goal.

My 2 cents.

#10300000715 10/03/2005 01:32:20 Re: Death of the Destroyer: Feedback Thread
Basicly it breaks down to this:

If you guys are reading through this and picking out the most mentioned
problems with the event (I'm holding out hope that SOMEONE from SOE
is), your list should look something like this:

1. LAG AND CRASHES

2. LAG AND CRASHES

3. LAG AND CRASHES

4. LAG AND CRASHES

5. NEW SERVERS

Don't focus on improving the EVENTS themselves.  Just improve the
conditions under which they occur and you'll get a much better
response.

I had a great time doing this event.  The Assassin was seen
several times by me the rest of the Awakened Radio staff and it was
awesome to be able to fight him.  Sharing this experience with
everyone was awesome.  Me personally ... I have no other qualms
other than the one present in almost every post from a player on
recursion:  THE LAG AND CRASHES.

The bottom line:

Spending a little bit of cash on improving the server conditions ISN'T
A BAD THING.  It'll help increase POSITIVE response to the events
and filter out a lot of the people just flat out belly aching because
they didn't see the assassin due to lag/crashes/etc.  I mean,
hell, it might even get them to stop telling people new to the game
(like myself) or NOT in the game, that it's not worth playing.
Coming into this experience with that kind of misnomer is never a good
thing and it was experienced just weeks before I joined and still
happens to this day.

You guys rock, I love this game, I'm officially dubbing it Matrack, I
had a BLAST during parts of the event, I had even MORE fun reporting it
LIVE on AWR but PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE
PLEASE get some NEW servers.  Reporting something live to 550+
people is never easy when you can't make it to the thing you're trying
to report! :p

And so the entire population is running around on the Richland/Westview server(s) ?

Just read about the chasing the Assassin that happened, and most mention the lag of having large crowds around... And the Assassin never went to International & Richland.

And you really think a level 20 or below had a chance to hit the Assassin really ? or that only low levels are involved in the LE ?

I'm just really sick of people defending this bearly there effort of an event when we know that much better HAS been run before.

#10300000718 10/03/2005 02:10:42 Re: Death of the Destroyer: Feedback Thread
if the people complaining about the mask had it....5 bucks says they wouldn't complain about the buffs.

That may be true for a lot of people, but certainly not in my case. If I had that mask, I'd still be complaining about how it's unbalanced. About how it contains buffs that should not be on that type of item. It's pretty much the principle of the matter. But these really are things best discussed before the event takes place, hence once again, I have to mention the need for LESIG. That really must be in place and helping plan and discuss the aspects of events before the next one, and it really should be up and running while the memories of this event are still fresh.
#10300000720 10/03/2005 02:55:49 Re: Death of the Destroyer: Feedback Thread

I am still a little upset.  Ever since tyndall asked us to go to jacobs ladder for a meeting, I got a thing come up saying that you time on the matrix has timed out.  since that time, and still going on I can not log on to the server at all because it still says the same thing you have timed out and will be shutting down.  first it was nat getting the mission for the flit gun and now this.hmmmmmm??

I hope you all had fun at this event.  the only fun I had was killing a bunch of corrupted or being killed by them.   And yes I tried running a few missions to see if it would come up but no change.  This all happened in recurrsion.  since i couldn't get back in I decided to use my other charecter in syntax and it loaded up just find but it was TO LATE!!!!!   but I would like to know what the problem is with that server?

FINALTOM

#10300000722 10/03/2005 03:40:12 Re: Death of the Destroyer: Feedback Thread

Im just glad they did a proper event rather than the one appearence every couple of weeks thing AOK talked of. THANK YOU

They timed the finale nicely, was good for both PST and EU tho the rest of the event was BS timing for EU.

I agree with the flash traffic/in game email thing tho im sure they're working on it.

And one thing that must be done and i dont care bout it ruining things, is give us a time window for when LET characters are gonna be in-game! doesnt have to be precise, just an hour or so window, PLEASE!

Oh and the criticals reflecting whats going on at that moment in the event was good.

Oh and my main criticism and hate is this, misinformation! we need regular updates from walrus or someone as to whats happening game-wise e.g the mobius code misinformation.

Oh and the lag, we seriously need some better god dam servers

Oh and the spamming, i thought LET got tools that let em cut out spammers?

Oh and... wait, i think thats it lol

I thought LET got tools that let em cut out spammers?

They do have tools, it's just they've been using them on the wrong people =(

But another comment (sorry mine aren't all in one post but I'm working too so it's a bit of time here and a bit of time there) control of the Zion population needs to improved. At the moment it's non-existant. And with the majority of players being Zion, this is causing unnecessary strain on the servers.

Meetings for Zion (or whatever is the largest org on whatever server) need to be held in limited numbers, via an invite system. And held multiple times so that all those on the server get a fair chance of attending the meeting if they so wish. Same with meetings that are open to all. They need to be held more than once, with limited numbers in attendance - at least until the servers can actually handle all the players on the server being in one spot.
#10300000725 10/03/2005 04:07:10 Re: Death of the Destroyer: Feedback Thread
2 out of 5

1. Didnt get the mobius code

2. Odd stuff like the corrupted

3. RSI problems on the Assassin

4. Flit gun is useless after the event
#10300000726 10/03/2005 04:08:14 Re: Death of the Destroyer: Feedback Thread

the good:

event specific critical mission (picking up the flit gun)

finale time adjusted back by a few hours (even though vector was pretty late ill take the time it happend over 4am in the morning gmt anyday )

assassins uber area attacks (gotta love fighting against the odds)

oracle showing up to dish out some words of advice

corupteds new animations.

the bad:

assassin to my knowlage didnt turn up in sobra / manssen on vector and ended up with 3 in stamos (i was camping in sobra eventually headed over to uriah/middian so as not to completley miss it SMILEY )

trying to pick out the assassin from a sea of red names (maby move the names up a bit higher than normal hight next time?)

lag , although this is natural when so many  people are in 1 area it can become frustrating at times.

the ugly:

the mask issue, theres been alot of whinning about this item and that the last blow was the deciding factor. i accept this sure, but a more fair way of doing it would have been for the person who did the most damage to get it since they kinda earned it SMILEY

the server crashes at the org meetings, pulling the entire org into 1 club was bound to cause problems. i think it crashed for us mervs when everyone tried to use francine at once hehe. although this was fixed when it came back up the merovingian came back with a new francine rp'd about how we "crashed his francine" which was a nice touch btw allso he hanged around a bit more than he was going to as a result. but i belive that when this happned to the other 2 orgs the meeting was written off(could be wrong feel free to corect me )

#10300000727 10/03/2005 04:18:05 Re: Death of the Destroyer: Feedback Thread
One thing I really enjoyed was how the entire megacity went to hell in
a handbasket when the corrupted started spawning. Everywhere I went I
saw mass chaos. Corrupted attacking everywhere and dead RSI's littering
every hardline.

Splitting the assassin into 5 was a smart move to help alleviate some
of that lag. I had many a personal enounter with the assassin this
week, From him dropping in on my factions last stand outside club
sanguine to chasing him around in Uriah last night. I'm fairly sure one
particular LET member thinks im stalking him :smileywink:

The prize.... well. I'm not really sure how 5 people can get THE assassins mask but hey, good on them :smileyhappy:

Lastly, what becomes of our flit guns now? Will there be a collector we
can take them to for a redeemable reward? or will the have another use
in the future?

#10300000728 10/03/2005 04:26:54 Re: Death of the Destroyer: Feedback Thread

In a nutshell

Please read our posts because we took the time to type them :smileywink:

The Good

- Holding a live event – 90 % of the players play this game for the Live Events

- Bringing closure to the Assassin saga and providing the motor for the storyline to move on

- Apologizing for the information leak.

The Bad

- Lag/Crashes – many players were unable to function/participate due to the server instability – MAJOR (people who pay for a service were denied)

- Certain players were denied Mobius Code and Flit Gun due to server side technical errors

- The information leak – players that missed out on the “leak” spent hours farming and solving while others just “showed up at the right place at the right time”

- Failure to compensate for the information leak by “tweaking” scripts – Ex. The live events team could have improvised ad hoc in order to advise operative of several new locations (Niobe/Flood/Pace could have held a meeting to provide “new clues/breaking news” and the LET controlled Assassins could have moved)

- The Final Hunt – the Assassin reward should have gone to the team that delivered the most damage similar to the loot system currently employed (why fix it if it isn’t broken?)

- Cake for everyone? Organization items should be organization specific. Ex. Merovingian Cake should be exclusive to Merovingian players just like Machine Agent Earpieces should be exclusive to Machinists.

The Ugly

This may be a bit harsh but it’s the truth. You had a great opportunity to reclaim some of your former customers and gain market share. Many former repeat customers came back for the live event and I know some of them will be cancelling their subscriptions. Time will tell how many will ultimately cancel. Moreover, some of your current subscribers have openly posted that they are going to cancel. Management needs to:

1. Fix the technical bugs that have been around since BETA

2. Remove the nepotism/favoritism between MxO Staff and players

3. Hire LE staff that are accessible daily and hold a live event every 2 weeks in order to keep customers - satisfied
#10300000729 10/03/2005 04:28:31 Re: Death of the Destroyer: Feedback Thread
This event was... it was pathetic.

The first thing we have, is that the event was almost IDENTICAL to the previous event that, not many people liked in the first place, both in what we got to see, and do.

The Assassin. He wasnt that good a chracter to begin with, and tbh, lots of flies don't really jump out at me and say "The Matrix", they jsut say... well... flies.

The Corrupted, they were annoying and not that interesting the last
event when we had them. To just re-add them again, was not a good move,
imo.

The multiple "Bosses" - Again, we have the same few bosses at certain
points to kill, and again with Fly Spray - which btw, again, just...
The Matrix? I think not - The only difference this time, was that
instead of "Huge Fly Monsters", we had a few "Normal Assassin Creatues".

The event was supposed to be, in my mind, a new beginning, especially
for SoE, to really show all those doubters, that they know how to run
this game and that they are working hard to bring it back up to what it
is supposed to be. To simply re-use the last event, and then to have so
many of the other problems, which I'll go on to, was such a bad idea.
All it has done, is prove everybody right, and force them to leave the
game, which in turn will make the game worse for everyone, until it is
eventually terminated. That is something I do not want to see happen, I
think this game has so much potential that is just not being used, and
I hate to see what is happening to it.

The story didnt make any sense. Why would he split himself up? Because
he thinks he's going to die? Well that's just ridiculous, he could kill
every single one of us in one hit, and there's nothing we can do about
it.

And what was going on with all the flies in the sky? Did not one
BluePill turn around during all this, what with everybody hyperjumping
through populated areas all day, every day, and firing big red-lasers
at each other, chasing this man made of flies and say "Hang on a
minute! Somethings not quite right here!!"? Where is the BluePill
awareness in all this? I'm sorry, but if I was a BP, then I would have
noticed all of this! Hell, the whole City would have by now!

And what happened with the cinematic? The event referred to a cinematic
that was released weeks ago, and published a new one now, which tbh, I
think was probably the wrong cinematic, and the wrong event. It seems
like the new Cinematic and Criticals were made to be realeased AFTER
this event, you really should get the timeline of this game sorted out.
The story is bad enough, and hard enough to make much sense out of, in
the way of how the Matrix should be, without everything being back to
front!

The lag - It was immense. Every single server had zones go down,
players crash out and constant lag throughout the whole event. Did it
not occur to the LET that after the game crashed out on the first
server, especially at the meetings to maybe bring in a second character
from each org to split the meetings up? So that it wouldnt put as much
strain on the inadequete servers? No, it didnt, instead, they continued
to rush the event as quickly as possible onto the second server also,
and have the exact same thing happen again. Did they think something
then? About maybe changing the system quickly? No, they didnt. I
understand that this may have been very difficult for them to change at
such short notice, but they should have considered this before hand,
and had those extra characters ready to log in if this did happen, so I
have no sympathy there. This was just bad planning, which tbh, i think
three months is long enough to plan out re-used content and and a few
system messages.

The assassins. Just what happened there?

They were running around, only killing maybe one in every ten players,
letting the players do their work in killing him, whilst he just stood
there not moving. He has a million abilities with which he could have
used to destroy those attackers. It would have been a much better idea
to actually make us have to work to kill him, and not just -  as
it happened on Vector - kill him in about 2 mintues from him logging
in, and then having THREE of the Assassins in one area all not
attacking! It's not fun to stand next to someone clicking a button on
your hotbar as fast as you can til it dies, whilst it just stands there
and stares vacantly at you. This, to me, showed just how little the LET
even care about these events. I mean, for god's sake, one Assassin even
managed to actually turn his PvP flag off!

And the rewards from them - To make it the player who struck the final
blow was quite ridiclous. It was jsut pure luck who got it, it could
even be a lvl 2, called xX-N30-Da1-Noobx0r-Xx, who at the last second,
after not even doing any of the "work",  Hyper-Jump Beta'd down
and sprayed. It should have been whoever did the most damage to him, or
maybe a better idea would have been to have it as a reward to some
other part of the "event" - Well, if there had been anything else to it
- It could have gone to a noteable player who really got involved.

To me, I feel like this event was such a slap in the face. It was
poorly constructed and a complete re-use of a previous event that
hadn't gone down to well. The servers were laggy and even knowing this,
no thought, it seems, had been taken into working a way around any of
this, resulting in numerous crashes, and frustration for almost every
player involved. And to top it off, this event just didnt feel like the
Matrix. Huge flies are not the Matrix.

Alone, I can usually cope with the bugs and mis-calculations of the
game, and just get on with trying to play and enjoy myself. But I've
been here for so long now, and things just get worse and worse. The
original Events were incredible. They are the only content this game
has anymore, and I just don't understand why they would be so ignored.

As for the LESIG, I would love to be a part of it, as I have so many
things I could put forward about how to do this right, and so many
problems that need to be addressed, but.. I do not want to continue to
pay for a game, just to then have to tell the Developers how to fix it.
I shouldnt be paying for something unfinished.

If you make THE MATRIX online, I will happily play it.

#10300000731 10/03/2005 05:34:36 Re: Death of the Destroyer: Feedback Thread

what i just cannot understand is why this  game is called 'the matrix' but tries not to be.

why did they (originally monolith now SOE) buy the rights to use the matrix content, but instead choose not to use it???!?!?

you want to know what events should be? fine. it isnt difficult. hell, anyone who has actually watched the matrix could do a better job. do SOE actually know anythign aobut the franchise they have bought into?

we have three organisations. in the matrix trilogy these three factions were rivals, each trying to control the matrix - zion, machines, and merovingians. In MXO we set our allegiance to one of these 3 organizations.

so then surely the events are obvious, simply have each organisation plot against the other two with LETs to explain what their orders are.  eg niobe, flood , merovingian etc  meetin with each of their factions. Hell lets face it, at the moment the organizations mean pretty much nothing apart from pvp purposes. There are endless possibilities for live event plots/attacks by one organization against another, and surely  having conflicting goals with other organizations would make things far more interesting!! I mean come on,  surely the leaders of each organization would actually give orders each week or so to their members if this was true to the matrix world set out in the films.

and that is my point. the matrix world IS set out in 3 films. why then are the devs forgetting that n trying to make their own world? get rid of this fly, assassin, general, corrupted Bullsh*t (just confusing and completelyirrellevent to all matrix fans out there) n actually base events on the matrix. geez it isnt rocket science.

think of the fun it would be to say rescue a kidnapped LET niobe from  LET agents, with each organizations factions all chipping in for their side in a huge battle.

it practically writes itself.!!! CMON! IT AINT HARD!!

I think it was Tatanya who said it best - these current events mean NOTHING to new players, wheras things like 'agents, the twins, keymaker' etc would all be instantly recognisable to players, and lets face it instantly LIKED by other players, as if thy didnt liek them they wouldnt have bought the matrix game in the first place!!! At a time when SOE desperately need to attract new customers if they dont want this game to go bust, surely returning events to the good old familiar matrix roots would be better for everyone.

I really dont think anyone needs to guess the outcome of a poll along the lines of:

As a matrix fan what would you prefer to see in matrix live events?

a) corrupted, general, flies, garbage disposal programs

b) agents, interaction from  LETs from the MOVIE(not mainly from random new charas ppl dont know), organizational plots/kidnappings , weekly orders form the guys in charge of each organization?

hmm well anyway rant over... again..

The Good -

MxO is still alive.

The Bad -

The QA Server has not been resurrected

The Ugly -

We're STILL suffering on these ridiculous servers (now that the X2's are out why not make the change?)

#10300000738 10/03/2005 06:07:20 Re: Death of the Destroyer: Feedback Thread

oh n to all the players saying that event was good and 'better than the last event'..... um can you please explain which part exactly was good..... cos i cant find any good points.

and did i miss the part wher this event was actually different to the last event?...

the old events.. namely nightfall... were EXCELLENT. the LET RP'd n interacted with players n would stay online for hours. the game was buggy but i put that to one side

now event quality n LET interaction has practically gone. but the bugs havent.

so i for one will check back in a couple of months (if MXO is still around)  n hopefully the events wil have improved and will pull me back in .

till then.... cya.. i aint paying for this

#10300000739 10/03/2005 06:14:48 Re: Death of the Destroyer: Feedback Thread
Over all I had a good time with this event, the leak of the information
didn't phase my enjoyment one bit, however It is my hope that the
people of SOE will take what happened numerous times on recursion and
finally do something about it. (yes I am talking about the crashes) I
have been told by many people that recusion is one of the servers that
has a huge player base, and I am starting to think it is true. I don't
think SOE was totally prepared for the shear amount of people that were
eaither hunting the assassin or going to the org meetings. I joined
this game shortly after the hunt for morpheus event, and I know we were
promised that live events team would have more control over certain
things. I know it takes time to write programs that would allow these
features to happen but I am hoping that the next event will run more
smoothly. I have yet to log back into the game after loosing my crew
and faction, I don't blame you somethings are completely out of your
control and unforseen. I hope to see improvements before SOE descides
to run the next event, if they choose to do so.

- Cake for everyone? Organization items should be organization specific. Ex. Merovingian Cake should be exclusive to Merovingian players just like Machine Agent Earpieces should be exclusive to Machinists.

I'm going to disagree with this point simply because the point of this event was cooperation. We all worked together, we should all get the same result. It says a lot that the Merv. recognised the actions of members of the other two orgs. and let them have some cake (whether intentional or not). That in itself was one of the nice touches and may even encourage some of the Zion mass to join the Merv.

i wanted to add another point...
in earlier events we've had just about every one of these problems with other events.
the thing that really kept them interesting and made everyone look past the flaws was the LET interactions and roleplaying that was involved with each event.
Now that we have a scaled back LET to nothing there is none of that aspect left in this game and all the people who looked past the problems with the game before this are now waking up to find a broken game with no roleplaying left.

PLEASE...LETSIG can help, but ultimately we need LET interactions. It will buy you guys all the time you need to fix this game for alot of people if you keep them interested in subplots and all the roleplaying that used to happen.
Bring back LET!

now that the event is done we have a population of players who will be doing nothing for one whole month till another event rolls out. There isn't enough ingame to help with people roleplay on their own...and no support from the game to help us make our own storylines. Basically, we'll be sitting around with absolutely nothing to do but to pick out every detail of the changes that will be made in the future. If we had something to keep us busy like LET coming ingame like before then it'd keep our minds off of the bigger picture and you guys can do your jobs.

The Good:-

   - I enjoyed chasing the Assassin around at a time that was before 3am.

   - Got some awesome screenshots.

The Bad:-

   - Rather unfair to hand the prize to whoever got the last hit, instead of to say.. whoever did the most damage?

   - Spam, oh god the spam.

The Ugly:-

   - As usual, server lag and crashes. I was thrown out of MxO multiple times, sometimes unable to log in for several minutes, and often chased the Assassin down alleyway's only to realise I'd lagged out.

Edit: Why are my lines double-spaced...?

Same here.

Got in some nice hits and chased the one at manssen for some time until i realized i crashed. Signed in again, sprayed him a little and crashed.  Kept going like that. missed his death by a second:smileysad:

Still after it was all over I was still kinda happy it wasn't too late. Next ones should be about this time too:smileyhappy:

All in all it was a nice event and besides, to look on the bright side of things, we got rid of the assassin! Now the storyline can move on:smileywink:
#10300000746 10/03/2005 07:12:57 Re: Death of the Destroyer: Feedback Thread

[Wow, wish I'd seen this thread before I posted this elsewhere. Oh well, Walrus, thanks for providing a forum for input.]

I start with a quote from Data Node One:

"That aside, the task at hand remains critical.  Those redpills who have gleaned from assembled code fragments where the regular haunts of The Assassin are located must stake them out.  And when he appears, they must kill him."

Given these instructions from Niobe, Flood, Merv, Oracle, Walrus, Devs or whoever you prefer to think they come from, I and a lot of other people staked out the Church of The Disciples on Syntax, which was the most apparently blatant clue in the messages. We waited and waited and waited etc, some for hours, but nothing happened except Corrupted (and some fun and chat). Yes, after a while reports starting coming in of sightings at other places, but given that we'd already had broadcasts to indicate The Assassin could be in more than one place, most of us stayed on at the designated location to take our shots at the clone and be a part of the multi organization co-operation to take him down.

Next, a message to report to Jacob's Ladder, where Niobe informs the assembled Zion crowd that The Assassin is no more. I can only report this second hand, as I and most of the people trying to get there crashed out and could only get back in after she'd left, thanks for coming. After some more waiting in the hope there might be some sort of communication for the 90% that didn't get it the first time, a lot of very unhappy players wandered off.

So, let's review. Instructions are given, but then situations are changed for reasons we can only guess at, so that the work of the past 4 days collecting and decoding fragments is invalidated. Then a 'Congratulations' meeting is held, at the same location that crashed a couple of days earlier, in spite of the fact that server traffic must obviously have been higher, given that it was the event's final day and a weekend. (Indeed, this is the first day I've seen server load listed as 'high' on logging in, and that was hours before the end)

Conclusion: Garbage (only the slightest pun intended). While I'm certain that some people had a great event, I ain't one of them, and it seems I'm not alone. In my opinion, parts of the planning and execution of this event have been awful. My feeling up till this point is that it had been improving as the days went on, but this was a huge let down.

Without doubt, I want to thank you for the timing, as a non-US player it worked out great for me, and given the server load it must have been good for a lot of other people too. Thanks for that.

I think in many ways this was a positive event, it was different and new (to me anyway), and shows that efforts are being made. Unfortunately the negatives seem to be a lot more harmful to the overall experience, and frustratingly people will likely remember them more than the high points.

Please, as a final beg, use the problems and mistakes of this Event to improve the next one (if and when). There is a lot of constructive and positive input in these forums, and I hope they are made required reading for the developers, event staff and LESIG.

Cheers!

PS: I've got a slot open in inventory and code library for the event commemorative reward. (I'll drop another post in a moment)
#10300000747 10/03/2005 07:16:43 Re: Death of the Destroyer: Feedback Thread

Firstly, I want some type of commemorative event souvenir. I haven't been able to log in yet to see about this new mission to win a fly (!!wow!!), but I don't really want buffs on it, just something I can wear if I want to show I was there. What good is a trophy if no-one can see you got it?

Along with others, I've previously suggested the unbuffed mask, seeing as all the corrupted had them there must have been plenty of spares. How about a T shirt with the Assassin mask pictured on it? Like the smiley face ones. Hell, I'd even be amused by the "all I got was this lousy T shirt" caption, as it would prove a sense of humor somewhere in the Dev Team (I'm copyrighting that idea, I want something if you use it!). No buffs, just an item to show off. (Reminder to SOE: You've had tons of that kind of give away item in SWG, why not MxO?)

Secondly, I don't really care about the buffs on the mask. I don't agree myself with how it was awarded, but there's a maximum of 5 people per server, it's minimum lvl 45, and half the buffs you can replicate and better with other clothing. The only really useful outstanding ones are the 100% regens, which only means you gain your stats back twice as fast as usual, you're not immortal, you can still get your *CENSORED* kicked just like everyone else, it'll just take longer. Indeed, it will give an advantage in PvP, but there's ONLY 5 people with one, who says they'll even want to PvP? (obviously excluding Vector)

I think there are bigger issues currently with things than what buffs are on a mask.

[Yes, I love the sound of my own text, the Walrus asked for input, I'm providing and venting so I can go back to enjoying the game]

#10300000749 10/03/2005 07:25:32 Re: Death of the Destroyer: Feedback Thread
The Good:

-The Assassin is deeeeeeeeeeeeead

-LOVED the Jigsaw riddle. sitting around with crew of the Swordfish,
Winter Brood and my faction mates in Eternity, pouring over the puzzle
looking at what spots he could be appearing was some great fun. Also
happy to we were 5 for 5 on figuring out those locations.

-The chase on saturday was some great fun. I loved following that bugger around

-Someone pointed out that it kept the servers on edge, I know that on
Syntax we had multi factional teams to help keep tabs on his location
so we could get the info out quicker and the fight on saturday
afternoon was a hoot.

-The messages from the controllers reminding us about flit guns, etc.
This is a bit of a good and bad for me. I like how they were looped so
that NOBODY missed out on the vital info, but next time give us a way
to turn the message off after we've heard if for two or three hours.
Did create some funny RP on Syntax though with a ton of us at a party
all doing a /touchearpiece then screaming "Tyndall, shut the hell up!"
"Flood Shut up!" "Gray if you want me to pay attention have Agent Pace
hand deliver the message!" hehe

The Bad:

-Some notice about the time the event stuff was going to kick off might
have been nice as I know my faction leader and a few other friends
missed out because they were expecting the standard time which was a
few hours after Assassin had shown up.

-The lag at meetings with Niobe. I crashed trying to open the door, got
a character in use message for ten minutes and got back in as Niobe was
walking out. Though I can understand that there may have been a ton
more people than usual since this is our first LE in a long time.

The Ugly:

-We are now faced with a month before our next LE and this normally
wouldn't bother me except that we now have vastly reduced interaction
with the major characters. One of my favorite memories of MxO was back
when we had Assassin logging in nightly and stalking Sobra Shores prior
to Morpheus' death, running in to him one night and taunting him for a
while just to have him run off and come back to attempt to punt me
while I was telling someone else what I had seen and then have him
whoop my butt with Kung Fu, then hang around the hardline, hidden
dropping viral attacks on us for a loooooooong time. While I understand
that you have scaled back your LET I will really miss things like this.

-The inability to add the LET characters to our buddy lists anymore. It
was very helpful to have an idea of if say Niobe or Assassin or
Morpheus was online.

-Last thing I can say about the ugly is the Assassin himself. That guy
had a serious hygene problem what with the flies and the garbage and
the buzzing, blech.

Overall this was a great event and once the wrinkles get ironed out I really look forward to even more.

#10300000750 10/03/2005 08:31:43 Re: Death of the Destroyer: Feedback Thread
Even though I only got to play on Sunday during the finale, the concept seemed great.
The execution was... lacking, to say the least.

Even though I hoped it wouldn't happen, I figured there would be crashes.
Method
crashed during some other events and even though the population was
lower, merging created a load at least a big as Method used to be 'back
in the day'.
Some areas are still down, why did you not do a reboot today?

You might take a look at this thread.
There
was someone who mentioned that they didn't like that the Crits and the
Event didn't mesh (maybe this thread too, but I haven't read it all)
but I think it's a nice change.
They may be related but since we don't know the next few chapters of the story, we can't say.
I think it adds more reality to the universe.
In that post I said:

One point in favor of the separate crits and events is that it makes it seem a bit more realistic.

Is there only one thing at a time happening in the real world?
Of course not.
There should be several separate stories happening concurrently.
It would help remove the 'nothing to do' feeling that happens now between events.

Granted, it isn't easily or quickly implemented, but would add a huge fun factor to the game.
Maybe separate 'mini-events' for each Org. Some interrelated, some not.

The
Dev's have a lot of work to do, bugs, rebalancing, etc, and I know the
'story' is basically set for the first year but I think it could be
added without affecting these things.
We don't necessarily need huge
in-depth stories, maybe something like 'floating contacts' that stay in
one place for a week or two then move to a different district.

I know we have the neighborhood contacts now and it would just be a similar system.
Actually,
I kind of think that the current neighborhood contacts should move
around their districts. Makes it a bit more work to find them, but I
think it would give a better sense of accomplishment when you do find
them.

Something to think about as a future goal.

That's funny I'm level 12 and I was hitting the Assassin just fine.....

I am not saying the events are low levels are the only ones involved in the LE, i'm saying it is not fair to try and exculde them from the event simply because you could not handle the lag. Oh trust me darling I was there chasing the assassin, I was there with the lag around him, but it was nothing turning my graphics down and turning all effects of didn't cure.

Well I say it was fun, but it really got on my nervs when I was working
with certain people to kill corrupts and get information that they
would gank me to hell. Now I know you couldn't do anything about that,
also I don't know why but I was fighting a corrupted and I was winning
when suddenly I died, no one attacked me and the corrupted didn't win
either I tried to read who took my down but couldn't find a name.

what
was
that
about??????????????

But the night was good, however I was far too tired and had to go before the assassin showed his *CENSORED* at Uriah.

I so wanted to even take just one shot....but it was not mean't to be.

#10300000754 10/03/2005 08:50:54 Re: Death of the Destroyer: Feedback Thread
well i couldn't be at the event friday-saturday-sunday, but i ninja looted the corrupted on thursday :smileytongue: and got some of the stuff. Anyway i'm curious about the buffs of the assassin mask, i've heard a high price is set for them.

So that was the event for me. Looting dead corrupted. And if i would
have been there at the meetings and final fight, i wouldn't probably
have had a chance, as i'm lvl37 and the lag.

The Good-

-Fighting off Corrupted that spawned during interesting times. There
were a couple occasions when I'd be with Pyro doing some missions and
then upon walking outside a building we'd have no rest--We were
attacked by the fly clouds.

-Fighting off Corrupted en mass at Tabor Park West. Made me think about Samurai holding the Huns at bay.

-Flit guns!

-Running after an Assassin with a brand new bag of tricks through the
Watcher hideout, shouting 'Die!' at him, and then getting special
attention while he personally murdered you after hitting him 20 times
with the flit gun.

-Roleplaying with others about clues and the conspiracy behind the Assassin's real purpose in the Church of Disciples.

-Having the ability to shout 'YOU GONNA GET CHAOS CLOUDED' in OOC
times, really amusing if only to myself and other people that visit
ytmnd.com

The Bad-

-Jobi wasn't able to jack in.

-Uncaring Hackers doing way too much damage to the Corrupted.

-A generally unresponsive Niobe.

-Crash during a meeting and it still going on even though it should
have been apparent to the LET that half of the server bombed.

-Apparently 2 Assassin clones being killed when there was supposedly 5 out there...?

-The Ugly

-While turning into Corrupted at one point was interesting, it was
hard to see where your character was and it generally caused a huge
amount of lag in my eyes. Perhaps we could see something like this in
the future but more purposeful...?

-Being the only one to see the Assassin, running over to him as he was
a millimeter of health away from dying, then having him stun you, go
invisible, and then crash once you die. It was the biggest bummer for
me as I thought the Assassin had something for Sykin, hahaha...

Overall, this has been one of the best events for me. I wanted to catch
Nightfall when it was out but I didn't get the game in time. Hopefully
the LET will become more active, I know it's possible Mr. Devs.

Take into account this is from a new player's point of view Walrus who just recently came into the MxO community.

My wife and I (Patcher & Virologist respectively) were essentially
glad the event was done..came as a huge relief.  My wife made it
VERY clear she was entirely tired of running through practically
abandoned areas only to have level 35+ Corrupted hanging out and
killing her in one shot.  I am forced to agree..the event for us
consisted of mostly sneaking about so we didn't get killed while we
tried to get to missions...and not succeeding at the sneaking part too
well.  Other than that..the event was mostly just a lag fest on
Sunday for us...could not do much and I think me and my wife lost about
4-5 points of faction due to this faction bug thing or whatever as
well.  Overall...neither my wife or I felt part, we mostly ran
from the corrupted because we couldn't kill them in MANY cases...and in
conclusion it was a "Hey you wanna play the Mystic and Paladin while we
wait for this to get over with?" scenario...that's not good, especially
if you have true newbies coming to play the game.

Lastly, knowing SOE from prior experience, I will also add this.
I play a 51 Paladin in EQ2..and have seen SOE walk all over players in
the past...quite honestly I believe SOE just does not care about
anything but the money they can get out of a player's pocket.
Moorgard over on the SOE forums is the community rep, and it's almost
painfully obvious he's a wordsmith, and a outright liar in many
places.  I ask of you, on behalf of the entire MxO community..for
all those people out there who enjoy the game, and have enjoyed it up
to this point..to not turn into another Moorgard..stand up to SOE and
if they are changing your beliefs on what should be done in the game,
give 'em hell.  Don't let the entire game become absolutely
wrecked like they are busily doing to EQ2.

#10300000758 10/03/2005 09:31:26 Re: Death of the Destroyer: Feedback Thread

While there are many criticisms and positives I could add here.  Only two are worth mentioning.

Recursion:

1.  "Area Closed.  Local Code Recompiling".  If this is going to occur due to overpopulation of the area, then there really should have been 7 copies or 9 copies or 50 copies of the Assassin.  I tried 3 different "known" locations he was to appear in only to be rubberbanded like a rag doll when trying to walk into the general locale.

2.  Assassin Health - This has bugged me with any of the major events.  The abilities of the LET should be expanded beyond the average player, however I notice time and again that the LET regen their health almost at will.  When the LET gets low on health, he/she tends to simply disappear.  No hyperjump, no teleport, just disappear OR they magically rejen 3/4 of their health bar.  Either give them a massive amount of health to overcome this issue or simply force an area kill to avoid death.  Either of those options is preferable to what appears (and obviously is since we shouldn't be able to kill em till a certain time) to be a magic trick.

#10300000759 10/03/2005 09:44:18 Re: Death of the Destroyer: Feedback Thread
Good :

- The return of LET actors (and some non-scripted parts)

- Interresting enigma

- A very nice reward to the lucky few

- End of a story that was stretching for a bit too long

- interresting mix of a critical mission to help for the live event (flit gun)

Bad :

- 4 days of corrupted collecting was too long

- New players that started the game were constantly menaced by too many high level corrupted

- Confusion between the parts in the cinematics/critical missions and the live event

Ugly :

- The reward is too good and doesn't reward the most worthy

Walrus Quote: "The game servers will be restarted shortly in order to perform post-event cleanup. Servers will return to service within 15-20 minutes. We appreciate your understanding"

Now, i've been in this game going on a year now. The cleanup from the database corruption, i would assume would take HOURS! I'm surprised we didn't all see a rollback like we did the last time. This was extremely ugly!

Other than that I agree with the post made by Hapalos. :smileyhappy:

Nice to see live events in any form at this point.
