Tactic Boosters improve your combat tactics which is essentially Accuracy. Defense is not Damage Reduction, this is explained above.

It's generally a good idea to watch them ordered with the archives. For instance once you finish the Chapter 5 missions, watch the Chapter 6 cinematic before starting the Chapter 6 missions.
