Nope, sorry.
Then you've been tabbing a bit too many nodes, Gerik, or else you're referring to the threads title in which case.. you're right on!
I really would like some reasoning from SOE as to why this is the case. People should be able to see us on that list of games. Did we do something wrong? Legal Issues? Talk to me.
MxO is still listed on the main page though

Some people are paying for it and aren't even using the product any more, and it could be a problem for us if they realize that they still pay us every month for something they're not using."

I wonder if that question on the station forum will be ignored by SOE staff like a good number of other MxO related questions.

Wanna bet?
img>What's the point of these threads? SOE doesn't own The Matrix Online. They license it. Everything must be approved by WB. So when you don't see MxO on something it's because WB either took to long or said No. So making these threads and then busting SOE is stupid. Bust WB balls.

There is no point. Boredom is the mother of chaos.
I just realized that the link points to the station store (which i've never been to) and is promoting other procucts such as clothes and strategy guides related to the various games. If MXO doesn't have any of this to offer then OK. In reference to the licensing, does anyone know if SWG is owned by SOE or licensed? If they are licensed as well, how are they included in the store list?. When you click the link it says something like "no products available" (or something like that). So they have no products to offer, but they still get listed? We should at least be listed and get the "no products availabe" screen. It's all about giving the game an opportunity to be seen by those who don't know about it, even if there is nothing to sell. It's like we exist on some island away from the rest of the games on the staion pass. As far as WB, i just can't see them not wanting to see their game bringing in new players as it helps to keep the entire Matrix Franchise alive and relevant. Maybe SOE is not requesting anything from WB on the game's behalf?

WB has NOTHING to do with this:

If SOE went out of ther way to de-list MxO from their available product list, that's a reeeally bad sign.

WB has NOTHING to do with this:
Agreed, SOE has advertised the game on their site before, they still have the license. I don't see any reason why WB would stop them from doing (what little it was) what they were doing previously. It's not as if they were using Matrix images or doing anything but promoting the game by name and link.
If time for approval is an issue then SOE could have applied for approval earlier. This is simply just another sign that SOE are happy just to keep MxO online as part of their Station pass. At this point I believe that the only thing SOE are willing to provide for us other than the continuing running of the servers is Virrago.

Good point. Unfortunately.
edit: lol you guys post too fast, seriously, the complaining seems to be the most eager thing on the forums these days
Before you flame me about your right to complain, refresh your memory about how complaining about MxO has been going on since launch. The game was not great back then either, just new to you and me, that newness is not something we can ever get back and is the singlemost reason why most MMORPG's don't last.
MxO is in far better shape now than it ever was after launch. SOE may not be doing what you think it should be doing for this game but SOE is still the only reason this game is still here. No other company, including WB and Monolith would have been able to sustain it for this long, why do you think they sold it so quickly after release?

There's a right way to do things, and a wrong way to do things.
Edit: The reason we complain is because we care about this game and don't want it to Epically Fail. You should worry the day we stop complaing. Also, it seems people have a very selective memory. We have been the least "complainy" player base in most all MMO history from Launch up until a few months ago.
So I absolutely disagree with your contention that we've always been whiney whiners and serial complainers since day one. Aside from garden variety run of the mill player personality conflicts. Perhaps you should compare any mmos forums with any given thread on MxO from March 2004 to November 2008.
Should we sit on our hands and be afraid to offend SOE's ddelicate sensibilities? Be afraid to speak up and only think la de da Positive Thoughts? This isn't Oprah's The Secret you know. Ignorance is not bliss. Again, You should worry the day we stop complaing, and no, we're not doing it because we're "bored" as someone upthread suggested.

In fact the only interaction we have with someone from SOE seems to be with Virrago but there's only so much he can do unfortunately.

There's the way they do things and there's your perception about what that means. There may be a better way to do things but that's different than you're suggesting SOE is out to snub MxO:

It's a store and MxO has no products to sell in a store. Did they go out of their way to delist it because they want to hate on MxO, or is it just that there's nothing to list so they didn't include it?

Well, I for one am trying to get other people I know into MXO. I think we should all do the same. MXO has a really solid community of players, and we should try and increase our number by recruiting our friends. This game beats wow is just about every area, it's time we showed other players that.

You got a good soul, but I think that is what we players (not SOE) have been trying for the last many years and to me it's getting kinda like a sit com. We got fansites, promotion sites with trial key's, forums for every organization, we got lots of other site's that tribute to do this and still not a single word from SOE or any of their employeers. To me it is just another slap in the face to us players here at MxO.
Over the last 2-3 months there have been many threads about this issue and it might go on until we get bored of that to, be cause we don't get a answer or respond from SOE...do we?

Who cares about other MMO's? You can disagree all you want. You're still wrong. There has always been complaining and SOE bashing. It's old and tiresome now. Everything you've said has been said many times over before starting long ago now. I've been playing and reading the forums since launch. Go back and refresh your own memory.
If SOE had listed MxO in the store with no products to sell for it, would you still complain or be happy when someone pointed it out? The answer is obvious, you still complain. Planetside and SWG are in the store with no products. That's just lame anyway.
This little issue is so trivial it's not worth a discussion. Save the SOE fanboy insults for someone who cares. You're crying about every little nothing you can conjure up. Now I'm the one speaking up about it. It's ironic that you build yourself up for not being afraid to speak out but try to put me down for doing the very same in this thread. Nice one way street you live on.
New players come into this game and find MxO is a very cool game with a lot of cool content to explore. Then they point out that the worst thing about this game is all the veteran grieving. You want to tell me your complaining is doing the game good? You're running off new players and then begging for a server merge so you'll have more people to play with. More irony is all it is.
You're your own worst enemy. Only you can change that.

I quite literally LOL'd. Good Night and Happy Gaming!

Wow, I just read this whole thread, and I have to say is "Code-dude, are you friggin serious?"
Are you really trying to say :
A. we have complained since launch
B. have a lot to be thankful for in SOE, and
C. We are the cause of a lack of playerbase?!
OMG! HAHAHAHA You are one funny guy. I mean really, to say that we have complained since launch is ridiculous. I was here in beta and then in and out until present... And never in the forums have I seen the complaints you swear your alligence by. I want you to go through these forums and find a single (non-player caused) complaint that was not justified by an action taken by SOE; what do we have Monolith leaving, "Server Merge" complaints from the beginning, "Killing Morpheus", "Bringing back Morpheus", Walrus leaving, LESIG Team removal, Cinematic removal, event removal, mission removal, Rarebit leaving, and now losing more advertizement. So we really aren't justified in our complaints? In some low hope of SOE hearing, we are not allowed to mourn the loss of these things in our game? Hell Id like to see if you didnt complain in SWG or Everquest if the same happened.
And thanking SOE? Really?
Monolith: Made MxO, made the LETeam, laid down the basics of the game we have today.
SOE: Offered more money than Monolith had for the licience to this game so they could get DCU... REMOVED LET, and added nothing to the game, other than... oh wait the lowered the amount of servers we used.
Wow, Thank you SOE.
Where is your source for why New players leave? What was the last Trial player you saw on the forums, other than one complaining about the lack of players. PEOPLE LEAVE BECAUSE THERE ARE NO PEOPLE. We dont get new players BECAUSE there are no veterens. Old players left because the game died, new players leave because they see that its dead. Most gamers arent very willing to pay 15$ to be technical Necrophiliacs dude.
There is no harm in voicing your opinion, unless your opinion is wrong. "The Earth is FLAT, believe me or die" mentality is not worth listening to Code... Now "The Earth is ROUND, believe me or die." Is understandable.
If you can prove your idea of SOE being the next generation of gaming greatness for MxO then by all means demean us and show us the light oh holy one! But until then, Shut the -blank- up, and deal with the QQ Player base.

Took the words right out of my mouth.
This guy said:

Well at the moment I don't, I only care about this one along with many others, which is why we're complaining when we're getting right royally screwed by SOE.
Funny that, for someone who's been 'playing since launch', his eyes are screwed shut from the reality of whats happening. So unless he or someone else who seems to be living in that dreamworld can point me toward another Matrix MMO, as soon as SGW or TOR or ST:O comes out I'm out of here and I suspect a good deal more have the same plan.

Appreciate your chipping in on this Virrago but I don't suppose you could tell us what it gets spent on? I realise asking for figures is out of the question. I can only think of staff and server maintenance but considering Rarebit has left and the monthly sub has not gone down it is quite puzzling.
Also you do realise that you will be quoted quite firmly on this from this point in?

I'm glad you posted...I hope you can at least do some "rumor control" at the very least. Still as Villemar said anything official from yourself or even Walrus goes a long way to keep the rumour mill in check, even if it does creat more questions!
Is this like thread 105 in the MXO wake postings or what? Either enjoy the game or find another to play.

Indeed, it's just a shame that it seems that most of the subs we pay seem to go toward supporting other games. This view could be dead wrong (Although I doubt it is) but we don't get told otherwise, hell we don't even get any type of communication on the forums from the Producer anymore.
That view is dead wrong... I can honestly say that 100% of all MxO Subscriptions go towards MxO.
So how close are things to not being able to afford the server bandwidth?

Virrago can barely manage to show up once a week to spawn a few npc's at mara , really does nothing but monitor forums , and claims to know how SOE spends it's $$ vis a vi mxo subscribers. Sure. Next he'll try to sell someone a bridge in Brooklyn. The pollyanish view that things are ok here is absurd. People criticising SOE are doing so in the hopes they will get SOE to CARE ABOUT THE MXO!!! If you don't see that you are blind. Other mmo's have player bases and customer support. MXO does not and WILL not unless you stand up for yourselves and demand it.

I don't suppose you could tell us what it gets spent on?
Actually, no, I can't.
I don't mean to be offensive but I'm not sure that's good enough.
I bet all the subs go straight to Virrago, Dracomet, 9mmfu and anyone else still in our office. They're just sitting on piles of individually signed 15$ checks counting into the 200's in number (not cash value).
XD, but no, I can only imagine the amount of electricity for the computers, and servers plus cooling systems, maintenence payments and just paying these 3 to five guys a decent amount must cost from those subs.

Dracomet and 9mmfu are working on the Agency now, so it's just Virrago that's sitting on our phat $15 checks.

Actually, that isn't part of my job description really... I just do it because I thought you guys enjoyed it. If no one enjoys my visits I can stop doing it.

Pay no attention to him, Virrago. It's greatly appreciated and encouraged. In fact, you should take over the city some time with uber spawns.
