I've also read about this Pandoras Box mission that spawns lots of high xp mobs that makes it ridiculously fast to level. Not sure about when this was done, or if it still applies in CR2. Any legitimacy to the claims?

Viral Deflection. It's basically like Combat Tactics for blocking Hackers virus's. Aka: If your VD is higher than their Viral Transmission (VT) than the virus is "Blocked" by you, and you take no damage or states from the intended virus.
