#36300559136 05/29/2009 08:33:14 The Patch

Many have been wondering lately how some things were possible, such as wings and coats never seen before. Bayamos and myself have spent the last several months before we stopped playing basically trying to figure out how to do everything. Here is the patch that I created that includes the stuff. The patch notes follow below on what is included with the patch. Just replace the rezmap.ltb in your main folder with the one in the patch, and the fx.pkb in your packmaps folder with the one in the patch. If there is a problem with this being posted, go ahead and delete the post. I just thought it would be fun for everyone to see what we have seen for the last several months. The RSI Captures list is the list of which RSI Capture is replaced with which Live Event character model.

Brilliant!

#36300559159 05/29/2009 08:44:38 Re:The Patch

This is awesome. Thanks for the effort, I'll definitely be checking it out SMILEY

If I install this, will everyone be able to see it or is it only viewable on my own pc?

#36300559161 05/29/2009 08:45:54 Re:The Patch

It's only viewable on your end.

#36300559162 05/29/2009 08:46:26 Re:The Patch

Client-side (your pc) only for this stuff.

Figured as much. Still as awesome though, kudos.

No problem, enjoy.

#36300559193 05/29/2009 09:13:57 Re:The Patch

I no nothing about all this technical malarky, but can you apply this, then set it back to normal after? It would be very helpful in helping me finish my comic (that with the end of MXO coming) i might otherwise not have time to.

#36300559194 05/29/2009 09:15:26 Re:The Patch

Just copy your current rezmap.ltb and the fx.pkb to your desktop, and then you can copy them back over when you're done.

Save the files that you need to replace to a different folder so you can put them back if you want the original settings.

Even better, if you have the space on your harddisk: Install MXO twice. One with the original settings, one with this patch.

#36300559202 05/29/2009 09:25:11 Re:The Patch

Vote Mathalos and Bayamos for new game Devs. lol

#36300559205 05/29/2009 09:31:14 Re:The Patch
Second!
#36300559259 05/29/2009 10:28:46 Re:The Patch

By the way, a lot of things that could be done were not included in this patch because of the way things ended up looking after the changes were made. If you see something you really would of wanted in this patch, there most likely is a good reason why it is not in it.

#36300559285 05/29/2009 10:51:43 Re:The Patch

Post has been updated with a new patch with a new change.

Thank you for this new content to have fun with, Mathalos and Bayamos and anyone else who helped.

You're masochistic for making a patch of like 50 mods, Seymour @_@

#36300559453 05/29/2009 13:16:58 Re:The Patch

Woah! Impressive...

That does explain a few things SMILEY I'll have to check this before the servers go down.

Great work, Mathalos and Bayamos!

#36300559460 05/29/2009 13:23:36 Re:The Patch

This is a work of perfection.  Although, I would like to see the following 3 charaters somehow SMILEY  :

1.  Pixie Licious so I can show Trill what character she most reminds me of SMILEY

2.  Lo Remnah, cause she's hawt SMILEY

3.  The elusive "Grey Marshmallow"....lol wut?

I'll have a guide up shortly which explains how to make the changes yourself, maybe one of us will make these changes to the patch later. I don't think Math left too many RSI captures to work with.

Crazy hawt.  There might be some easy V2 rsi caps to work with too, like Dernick, Zero, etc.

Winrar is your best bet.

1. Put the rezmap.ltb file in your main Matrix Online folder (C:\Program Files\Sony\Matrix Online, for example).

2. Put the fx.pkb file in your packmaps folder, which is just inside of your Matrix Online folder.

Save the original copies of these 2 files somewhere if you don't want to bother with patching again if you get tired of it.

Thank you thank you guys, sorry for being so rubbish at all this malarky (though i guess if you're gonna have all these really swish computer hackers in the Matrix, you need someone at the other end of the scales)

Best thing ever. The corrupter effect doesnt go away when you apply another RSIcap, but its cool!

Yes the only thing is unlike standard RSI caps with fx like Danielle Wright; when you switch to another RSI cap using the patch the previous cap's fx does not go away.  So you can stack fx this way, but if youre trying a bunch of them soon you'll have a visual mess on your hands (Complete Corruptor ftw).

The quickest workaround is to go back to the Loading Area and when you step out the old fx will be gone.

#36300559794 05/29/2009 18:16:57 Re:The Patch

These are brilliant! Thanks for posting this, will really help me out.

One question though, is there any way to get Agent Gray, the Architect and The General?

I know they aren't brilliant looking chars or anything, but it'd make life alot easier, ty.

#36300559795 05/29/2009 18:19:33 Re:The Patch

You might want to read The Guide! It explains how to make your own changes.

#36300559812 05/29/2009 18:43:28 Re:The Patch

Thank you, but i really have no idea what any of that means lol

#36300559835 05/29/2009 18:59:54 Re:The Patch

Awesome. Thanks!

Couple questions....

a. Does the game have to be running while I make the changes?

b.

from the doc...

This translates as:

Resource ID 0x08000337

Filetype .moa

Filename demonarmy-3-1.moa

In char_npc.pkb starting at 0x2E9C604, with a 89A byte length block

Apply the RSI capture to your character, and using HXD’s RAM feature, search your memory for the hex (not text) string 37030008. You may notice that this is the rezID’s bytes BACKWARDS; it is supposed to be that way.

----------------

If it's backwards, why is it 37030008 and not 73300080?

#36300559856 05/29/2009 19:07:57 Re:The Patch

a) No, the game needs to be closed if you're editing files. You can't be reading from and writing to the same files at the same time. Concurrency issues.

b) Each rezid is a four byte sequence; i.e. 08000337. Each byte (two hexadecimal numbers) is represented by one ASCII character on the right. The word "roar" in hex is 72 6F 61 72. If we want to reverse that to raor, it's 72 61 6F 72. Reversing all the hex entirely produces gibberish, since you're editing the bytes rather than moving their positions.

#36300560066 05/29/2009 20:43:48 Re:The Patch

Could always replace the sleepwalker caps, or the Valfreyja, or the override Exec. As a last resort, at least.

#36300560093 05/29/2009 22:12:53 Re:The Patch

Lol wut?
