Hm, didn't you guys say you weren't going to give attribute buffs? Guns like the Stinger and Lancet give out Focus buffs.
#35600000495 03/03/2006 22:49:37 Re: Unique items conversion
Yeah in the first pass I missed the Lancet and the other two guns from that dungeon. I got them in the second pass but I didn't make it in time to get into this patch. SMILEY

I think I got all the other ones in that first pass though, all the collector guns and whatnot. And definitely all the clothing should be updated.
#35600000502 03/04/2006 04:47:03 Re: Unique items conversion
Uhm, Frog? Can I ask you for a favor?

Now that all the items have been converted over to CR 2.0, do you think you could do anything about the appearance of the Ravenswing/feather jacket? I mean, have you seen a pink raven yet?? Not that there aren't any out there, but still... that jacket looks so rediculous. It would go a long way, if this one jacket's appearance would be changed to something, you know, more matrix-like.

Do you think you could persuade someone responsible for these changes (database technicians or whatever you call them... devs? SMILEY) to change the jacket to maybe something... black? =)

I mean, you wanted to bring back fashion back into the game and for that I want to applaud you. But don't stop at the good items.

It's just a small change, non? =)

First I would like to thank you for the hard work. =)

HCFrog and the other DEVs, promise me that a few months after the CR goes live, when you see a bunch of players running around with the same clothing during PvP... make more of the same buffs in different styles and colors.
There will prolly be about 4 different clothing sets for the different attack styles to defend and attack with.
Or just think about seperating the buffs from the clothing alltogether?  I know that would be a lot of hard work, but that's what ya'll need to do.... you know this.  =/
#35600000540 03/07/2006 05:54:53 Re: Unique items conversion
Not sure if this has been mentioned (haven't had time to read the whole topic), but I wonder if the Industrial Boots have the wrong "enhancement" on them? They give off ballistic resistance which is the same as the Industrial Shirt, shouldn't they be giving off Thrown Resistance (which, if I understand the system correctly) is pretty much as close to Dodge Ranged (the enhancment the shoes have on the live servers) as the new system gets?
#35600000542 03/07/2006 10:57:03 Re: Unique items conversion

yes yes yes.. pls change the appearance.. just the color, of the ravens* coats. i think there are 3, ravenswing, ravenstail, and ravensfeather, in order of increasing buffs. these are excellent hacker coats. but they look like my grandmothers couch or something. absolutely awful. how bout some kinda hip post-modern dark red or green? cant go wrong with black. anything other than the "helga's living room drapes" look. how am i supposed to kick *CENSORED* in style if i look like a table cloth? =D

kudos on all the hard work.

#35600000551 03/07/2006 19:11:08 Re: Unique items conversion
As Tseng mentioned...   The number one thing is the legacy speed buffs.   The old Spider/Widow/Black Widow dresses and Gi's, the original Achencourte leggings, and the collector's old caution boots.  Yes caution boots are not tradeable, but I still like knowing that I have an 50% speed when i need it in an extreme emergancy.

Of course, you'll probably keep the increased items decay rate - thats fine.

Also please do something with the pointless buffed items like most shielded and armored clothing and enhanced items with like 1% melee dmg resist or whatever.

Making the old vly virus immunity work with the effect put off by the assassin' s mask would be nice.

Putting back the old items on the organizational collectors would also be appreciated.  I still have about 30 numbered documents in my code storage to still trade in for things like fly virus immunity.  It seems the old items at these collectors were replaced with the new EMCP things.

#35600000558 03/08/2006 12:09:41 Re: Unique items conversion

Ok adding on a list of clothing items that you can find at Neighborhood
collectors so that people will be able to find out the Old stats when the
new stats are posted.

Now I may have older info here before the latest change in some cases.

I understand why you are changing the stats on everything. But it sucks for people who have paid millions of info for these items. Only to have them brought down to crap.
Mabye it will make more sense under the new system.

I noticed some of the program launchers (The non vector ones) don't have viral accuracy buffs (as one would expect).

Whitfield Mark II (lvl 45) for example.

while we are on topic with items....
surely you have came across;
Whitfields MK II Code Launcher, which can ONLY be equipped into the tool section...

its current buffs are; well look at screenie

Image Hosted by ImageShack.us>

as youc an see this item contributes to alot of IS and this item can only be found on the VECTOR server, so what im requesting is can you look into having this item being added onto the other servers as well?

if this has been brought up already then im sorry

Vector ftw.
#35600000630 03/12/2006 20:48:58 Re: Unique items conversion
I hate to debunk any fun stories, but every item is available on every server. All servers share the exact same item database - in fact, it's literally impossible for us to have certain items on one server and not another.
#35600000633 03/12/2006 21:20:21 Re: Unique items conversion
HCFrog it may be true that all items are in the server database, or where ever such information is kept. However, I can positively tell you that Vector is the only server with the tool slot launcher. My main characters are on Vector, so it doesn't really affect me. But that is how it is.
#35600000635 03/12/2006 22:50:09 Re: Unique items conversion
Frog, is it possible that the items exist, but are not supposed to drop?  Say they are turned off in the loot table perhaps?  But there was a time long ago when they weren't and someone got them, maybe.  Could you check please?

Having decompiled and catalogged (xls file) 4% of the roughly 46,000 decompilable items Rarebit stated there are, I have yet to come across any armored/shielded/enhanced sunglasses at all on Vector. Yet there is a pair on the other servers. Me thinks you should just give us whatever ascii file you guys have that lists all items in all loot tables, only way to be sure SMILEY

does anyone know if this is true..... all "Armor-piercing" has been removed with cr2.0,.....???  it is being said that it is and that its only a graphical error in the item description of the stinger-line of hideout guns that they actually will no longer armor-pierce.  anyone have the real story?
#35600000733 03/20/2006 14:53:49 Re: Unique items conversion
As far as I'm aware, all armour piercing has been removed from the game (you better not be lying 9mmFU SMILEY )

I spent half an hour comiling a list of all items / abilities which still say there are armour piercing to be fixed.

most of the nonspecial drop clothing seems to be all about resistance. would it be possible to make some of these same clothes opposite with damage buffs. while some people like to tank themselves to last long others like to hit heavy and hard at the risk of death. just a thought. i dont see much in the way of damage boosting yet.

my old speed buff clothing (caution boots and widow's dress) decayed very quickly on the qa so i'm assuming this will be the same on live as it is now.

I have to know about Jokah's Beenie
it was +25% evasion
now it's +3% stun duration bonus (I think)
How does that happen ? I mean I was thinking it may have been nerfed but to totally change the type of buff.; was this a mistake ?

Not sure if anyone has mentioned it, but the Org specific buffs, such as the Merovingians Boon, Glimmer of the Source, and Zion Hardware don't work in CR2. It added a 6% toughness buff. It would be nice to those working. SMILEY
#35600000764 03/25/2006 11:11:16 Re: Unique items conversion

why so many thrown dmg items (clothing wise) and so few ballistic dmg items (and i haven't looked for melee dmg items yet) ?

trying to make duelist a bit more usefull, the dmg output is pretty weak (except for dual pistol ex, which is fine)

#35600000804 03/29/2006 11:37:58 Re: Unique items conversion
so far i hear alot about resistance. its nice to be very resistant to those bullets hitting you in teh head but pardon me, the rebel, for not wanting to get hit in the first place =D dodge this.
anyway.. if you dont get hit, nothing else matters. obviously that isnt how things are gonna be anymore but jesus, im constantly getting pelted for 9 dmg or 3 dmg or 14 dmg or whatever. since we get hit multiple times PER SECOND now, whats this doing to our items, as far as their decay rates are concerned? my meson rifle broke today. will my new one be gone in a week or two?
i want clothing buffs with defense/dodge/whatever, not just resistance. it makes perfect sense for there to be lots.. and lots and lots and lots.. of clothing with both defense and resist on it. defense for the obvious, so you can dodge those bullets, and resist, for when your defense fails you, as it often will heh.
things that need balancing if we continue to get hit like we are now, sometimes up to 3-4 times in a one second period...
vastly decrease item decay rates
increase concentration to account for the much larger number of possible interruptions
maybe assign a penalty to gunners trying to hit their target while under fire (freefire only)
i suppose hackers and MA shouldnt get such a penalty.. its just not as precise to hit someone with your hand, and hackers have their concentration plus they arent trying to do much of anything physical.
life is suddenly a real pain in the *CENSORED* for hackers but overall cr2 is pretty cool. i wish the last game i played has this dev team. do you guys realize how cool it is to TALK to the devs, on a forum? and they talk back and stuff? heh..

/target Devs
/salute

They indeed are a crafty bunch. I salute them and their work.

On another note....

I noticed the Whitfield Mark II male program launcher does not have VA buffs on it... yet the Mark I does.
