lol at orien....always the second post...heh

you should get an answer for being that close too many times!!! lol

great answer btw...I'm sure that its even being thought about by a dev will make everyone on Vector very happy.

Well I cant try to ask it again lol I have my last final tomorrow.  If someone in their good heart could ask that question for me that would be the most nonbogus thing ever.

Everything's possible, but this isn't very likely to happen. Come to think of it, it's highly unlikely. It's hard enough getting a random procedural mission system to come up with three phase missions that kind of make sense.
#10400133407 12/14/2005 23:26:50 Re: Ask the devs an MXO question
As quoted from Rarebit: The answer to this is: we're still figuring this out ourselves. How can a carefully managed focus group of dedicated volunteer players help us tell the story of the Matrix? Let's just say that many ideas are being generated.

Another answer is: keep an eye open. If our first trial run goes according to plan, you will see, or hear, about a small LESIG-assisted event shortly. If it doesn't go according to plan (what? something not working perfectly the first time? whoever heard of such a thing?), then you will have to wait just a bit while we sort these things out. =P

Or in other words, the devs cannot tell you, the people who were picked for LESIG cannot tell you. So all you can do right now, is wait. Just a little longer.
#10400133408 12/15/2005 00:05:44 Re: Ask the devs an MXO question
In Dev Journal 01, Archon mentions much needed updates to the in-game Marketplace:

Marketplace

We are
also working on some significant improvements to the Marketplace. The
Marketplace should be a great tool for players trying to buy and sell items
and the current system needs to be re-tooled. Improvements are focused around
expanding the design and fixing broken or user-unfriendly issues. Our goal is
to implement an overhauled Marketplace before the end of the year.

As you can see, he says the goal is to have it implemented by the end of this year.

So my question is: How are you progressing with the marketplace and what new features can we expect to see?

EDIT: **bleep**, lol  Thanks for answering our questions HCFrog!

I'm split on that one. For having fun, the Merovingian: the ultimate bon vivant. For getting deep down into the messy guts of the Matrix, the Oracle.

To answer your non-question (see how sneaky he is?), I pieced Veil together from existing parts--if you look close, you'll probably recognize most of them, but maybe in different colors. Tinting skin in our NPC RSI system is a bit of a pain, which is why only her head is exposed. I took some glory shots of her a month or so ago, but then realized my AA had shut off (darn task-switching on my vid card!) so they were all jaggy. :{ Maybe I'll see if Walrus will let me post them anyway.

There are proposals on the table for doing something with them, but it is unknown if they will work smoothly. Maybe the QA server will help us with that somewhere down the road. No promises, though.

Currently, they are used for cool screenshots!
#10400133420 12/15/2005 00:44:02 Re: Ask the devs an MXO question
Could the screenshot feature ever be updated so that instead of the first ten images being numbered 0-9 they are numbered 00 to 09? It would make managing screenshots just that little easier... (even better would be 000 to 009 and so forth so the first 999 screenshots are easily managable...) I know, future release question and all... I'll abort it for yah. *click*

No idea, but if that name occurs there, then probably yes. The old LET team came up with the name, as far as I know.

#10400133433 12/15/2005 01:33:43 Re: Ask the devs an MXO question

Are there any plans to implement more dev tools to help run events more smoothly on the hostile server?

Some humble suggestions would be AOE mutes and the ability to unflag players much like a construct safe zone works.

Also
customized chat colors or even fonts would be a cool idea as well
considering the chat interface is the main form of player live event
character communication customizing that avenue even more would really
be sweet SMILEY

The dev team has done a
GREAT job with the interaction they have provided us and we appreciate
it alot but there is only so much a human being can do compared to
specifically tailored software to help you guys make it an even better
experience than it already is on our hectic server.

Same as my forum handle. I'm old school. I also haven't logged in with that character in ages, but months and months ago when I was freezing in my old Monolith office, rubbing my hands together to stay warm in the broken air conditioning, I used to log in with Rarebit, dance near newbie hardlines, and give cryptic answers to people who stopped to ask me questions while trying to come up with crit mission ideas. That was back when /dance prevented you from getting kicked for idling. Ah, those were the days.

Man, this forum stuff is addicting! Walrus never let me log in before, so I didn't realize that the forums tracked how many unread posts you have in each thread. "What? A new post! Must click!" It's like crack! Not that I would know anything about that.
