It's the Japanese Kanji for "wolf," read in Hiragana as "ookami." And for the record, it's pronounced "oh-kah-me," not "oo-kah-me." Doubled vowels in Japanese only double the duration, they don't change the pronounciation.

I doubt it has anything to do with the story, it's just a cool image. Also, I don't think the first image had anything to do with the story, either. It was just hinting at the (then) upcoming patch.

The image isn't a render, actually. That's one of the concept pieces done by the original artist.
Ookami isn't any more part of the current story than she normally is. Image Retrieval is just a handy place to show off cool things I think you'd like to see. Posting Ookami art is kind of a no-brainer.

Feel free to post anything. Image Retrieval is cool so far. I wouldn't mind seeing some old, unreleased MxO art, or anything that helps expand the Matrix universe.
