Take you time when picking a faction. There are several good ones and only one really bad one. Ask around, trust no one person and good luck.
Im pretty sure that #1, they are called Section 9. And #2 Dante is not the leader.
I would suggest Section 9 or Novus Imperium, both solid factions with strong PvP
