Im still having problems as well... and Im not dling station launcher :/ It always messes up for me.
Alright, I went into Station Launcher and clicked on "Games" to launch The Matrix Online. After that, I was prompted and asked if I wanted it to download the latest game files.
I agreed, and it launched into a Full System Scan. Once it did that, it patched without a problem and gave me the option to launch the game. I did that, it tried to sign into MxO, then it said "Auth server inaccessible."
I tried to log in again, and it worked. Now I'm in game.
Sounds like a real headache to deal with, but think of it as "hacking to broadcast our signal into the Matrix."

Seems the only way to get ingame is to patch thru station launcher. I caved and installed it, got the patch updated and Im now ingame.

I just downloaded the launcher and it wouldn't let me use it. Says I don't have sufficient user priviledges.

Yeah. I'm getting the same thing. Which doesn't make sense seeing as how I'm using the only admin account on my laptop.
station launcher worked for me...got tired of wating and decided to try it...took me about 10-15 mins for the process. currently ingame.

but i just completed 3 missions without they dropping anything, so you can move on to the next mission. Anyone else having that problem or is it just the snow....

Ya know, I just signed on yesterday after having quit for nine months. Maybe this is one of those things that made me quit to begin with.
Just a clever ploy to get everyone to use Station Launcher. It's a conspiracy, clearly.
My station launcher is doing a full scan. It'll probably work and I'll probably be in-game soon.

i figured out you have to change the compatibility mode to xp service pack 2 and run as administrator. launcher is now updating. I'll see if it works soon.
We are still working on a fix for the regular launcher.

I got station launcher to load up, but now its at a screen where it says "Scanning, loading remote manifest". Can't tell that's it's really doing anything.

Doh! After doing some reading about the Station Launcher, I found that it uses Microsoft's Background Intelligent Transfer Service (BITS) to update games. I usually have this service shut off unless I really need it. It's now doing a full scan. It's completely my fault. ^^;

In the patching process a file didn't get patched correctly to all the correct patcher servers. Station Launcher and the old Launcher use two different patcher servers. (but I'm not a programmer or engineer so I may not be explaining it exactly correct)
Guys i downloaded the station launcher, and it came up with a message saying that insuffient user privilages, so i went onto my harddrive and located the station launcher folder in my program files, i right clicked the folder from there and selected run as administrator and my firewall popped up, i accepted it and then it opened up without a error message and i entered my username and password as usual, now i selected matrix online from there, and it is working! im just waiting for it to update, hope this helps, bye my games launched xD!!!
I just got the game to work with Station Launcher (running on XP) - pretty nifty! Sorry all you Vista users! If it's any consolation now that I've got it working I have to go out - grr!

Dont they do internal testing with the patch before they release it off to the patch servers for consumer downloading? I mean, how many times has the player had to do a work around for a bug on this game caused by a patch?

to play devil's advocate (from the player's reaction so far that is) I dont think we're giving the devs enough credit for the work they did. Sure soem of you are having legitimate problems, but it seems the real issue is people don't want to mess with a new application just to play the game. yet you still want to complain about it even if the work around does indeed allow game play.
basically suck it up and wait - this stuff (excluding the winter event) will be around till mid January.
or try the work around if you indeed know it will work for you.
Either way the tech team is doing their best to deliver a solution to us, so just be patient
