The CODEMAN's statement was inaccurate. I hate the other servers. I was born on Vector, (Enumerator) and that's where I'll stay. You want to stay in carebear land, than stay. It's simple.
Merge

Well following this thread it appears that most pushing for a merge are from Vector. If folks want to come over there more power to them. Let em' build a new character. As for the population, I ain't sayin' that I have everyone on my list, but I have alot and hardly ever see em online. So by observation, I'm saying Vector appears to be the least populated server. You don't agree? Fine.

Oh, it's definatly the least populated. Let me ask you this though. What's the point of having any area's that are not Mara, in your instance. Syntax and Recursion are a joke, simply because the fact there's no point in ever leaving Mara there. You have an entire city, and I'm willing to bet half the people there have never Pvp'd anywhere but Mara. You have a whole city that is usless. You don't agree? Fine.

/elite isn't a known emote. Some of us were around back then too bud and started on Vector (enumerator). You say I'm inaccurate? What exactly was innaccurate 'bout what I said? I'm not putting down Vector. I'm not putting down any of the servers. I'm just sayin' leave em alone. If ppl don't like what I'm saying then it's too d*** bad because I'm gonna continue to speak out on this.
Codeman, did you read through the thread or just read the last 2 pages? I think theres only been about 6 or 7 Vectorites posted in it. And everyone has said pretty much, one hostile one non hostile with a chance for transfer.
And no, i don't agree with vector being the least populated atm. For a while back, it was defo Reccy. Might hvae changed now though.

No I'm looking out for Recursion players. I have a 50 and 2 30's there and it's too bad they're collecting dust. The option should be for me or any other players who are sick of jacking into an empty server to move over to a bigger server, either non-hostile or hostile. Just one single superserver seems appealing to some right now, but I don't think it would be appropriate at this point in time, for some of the reasons you describe. No reason there shouldn't be two servers, one hostile one nonhostile. Simple, easy, elegant, commonsense solution.

Yeah. I've read the whole thing since it was first posted. I guess I shoulda said those that have multiple posts in this thread appear to be Vectorites. BTW, props for keeping it civil.

The point of having other areas besides Mara is because a) Not everyone is interested in PvP. If they were they'd be on Vector. b) ALL of the games content is spread out throughout the other districts (mission contacts, collectors, etc.) c) If players are inclined to create story content or other artistic projects using the game, it'd be a pretty lame project if it was all done in Mara.
BTW. I'm not too slow. My beer waits for no man.

Haha...touche sir. I retract my previous statement.
I'd like to throw my hat into the Pro-Merge ring. Recursion population is just pathetic nowadays, and either people need to start jacking into Recursion more often, or Syntax and Recursion needs to merge.

ok for the past 5 nights i been on.. i have only seen like 5 people at mara c.. isnt it time to merge servers???? its a ghost town.
YES YES YES YES YES YES YES to merger ... just my 2 pennys worth there
Thanks

Its been months on end without any showing of an ever near desireable population. We would just like the same opportunity to experience the whole mmorpg rather than what we get now which is only the orpg.
By the way, anyone knows what happend to the servers? They are all down. And there are no news about it.
Is there a new update in progress or just a Server Restart again?
I think all 3 servers should merge. of cours you non hostile noobs arent as good at pvp. but atleast we would have someone to play with.

Way to really add to a conversation with that ever important 3rd post... Try pvping while questioning the morals of your opponent and the group he/she is associated with, then stand still for 4 minutes not in sneak, you may like it
My money's on the PVEers. There's alot of HJing happening in the hostile zone. I was suprised.
I would be happy to pay to have my main character moved to Syntax.
And if that doesn't work, I'd be happy to pay to have it reconstructed manually, with the Recursion one being deleted at the end.
And if even that doesn't work, I'd be happy to pay to have items (say just ten or fifteen) removed from a Recursion character and transferred to a Syntax character.
How technically hard could that be?

Unless 9mmfu or Dracomet could come up with a "How-To Transfer", the CSRs don't know what to do to accomplish it. Any transfers would likely be done by a CSR agent regardless of game. They already know how to modify certain things (bluepill name, redpill name if it so does warrant it) because they have been briefed on how to I believe.
Personally, the real issue I see is the ingame email & buddylist since they deal with multigame SOE code, and that emails are stored somewhere else. Now if they gave a transfer to us, I'd make temp accounts just to hold stuff and transfer if I had to....
The transfer flowchat if I assume even remotely:
Lock account from using character
Force character out of crew, causing disband crew if necessary.
Change character's server information
Change character's code library information
Change character's code storage information
Update emails (if its remotely possible).

Thanks for the insight! This doesn't seem like such a big deal technically. I'm also thinking that maybe 9mmfu and Dracomet might now not be as busy as they were in the past....

I guess it depends on how hard Walrus is making them work on the Agency

Can that go ahead and fail so we can get our devs back? >_>

rd /s "SOE\AgencySource"
rd /s "SOE\DCComicsSource"
Merge the servers.
Keep the players the priority.
On other threads we read about the "stone wall of silence" from SOE - how we as players are never told anything about what's going on with MxO, how MxO is not included on the main games page, how MxO is not included in the newsletters or the promotions, how all the money is being put into T.A. and DCUO, how the higher-ups at SOE don't even seem to be aware that we exist or that we have genuine questions/suggestions/demands and real needs for our game. The die-hard among us have been so sick of being ignored that we just went back to playing. There's always a flood of great ideas, suggestions and questions from the community, which we get no response about and, really, we don't expect to ever get any response about them. But still we post them because, even if nothing is ever done, it's still nice to let a good idea out into the world rather than it just run around the hamster wheel in your mind.
Well, on this issue, this dead-horse-beaten-into-a-bloody-pulp merge issue, we have three times, from the executive producer himself, the community relations manager, and the former lead dev, been given a clear and concise answer. Yes, we got a direct, understandable and explained answer to one of our questions about the future of MxO. This is nothing short of a miracle given MxO's -ahem- storied - past.
For those of you who have been living on Guinness Lake East for a year, the answers were:
* MxO is in maintenance mode, AKA "a matured game title" at SOE.
* There are no plans to close any server for the foreseeable future.
* There are no plans for any type of server merge for the foreseeable future. (It's been suggested that there is no one at SOE with the skills to merge servers; the two previous merges were done with Monolith personnel.)
*Anniversary, Halloween and Holiday events will be switched on and off (suggesting that we can expect to be able to keep playing at least until 2010) but there will be no new updates, events, storyline, patches or content.
* "Back in the day" of the character transfer discussion, it was said that a character would never be transferred from a normal server to a hostile one, as it would not be fair to those who had earned their level in a hostile environment. So, if another miracle/atrocity (depending on your opinion of a merge) occurs, it could only be Syntax and Recursion coming together.
Certainly no one should be denied the CHOICE to post on any thread about its topic (as long as it's within the rules and guidelines) but if I were to paraphrase Smith, I'd address this face-down-in-the-sewage thread and cry, "Why, Mr. Merge thread, why, WHY DO YOU PERSIST?"
(Now, if you're at all worked up and thinking about replying in anger and, heaven forfend, flaming me, please take a breath and realize that this was written tongue-in-cheek, dripping with ironic sarcasm, in hopes that you'll laugh about the inevitable state of MxO and her forums, and go jack-in to cause whatever mirth and mayhem in the Matrix that you can, for as long as your sub shall last. If you must reply, please take the obvious route and ask me where I stand on this contentious and seemingly immortal merge issue; assuming of course some drastic change takes place that would make it possible at all, which at this point - it isn't.)
P.S. frakin' awesome party on Syntax yesterday. Thanks, Catzi and crews!
Having been on Syntax for about 6 hours tonight, I can definitely say I would be much happier if the servers were merged and I had some actual people to play with.
Yup.
Here's an Idea. Instead of bickering on the forums about what you can do shield yourselves from the fact that your server is dead why don't you go on your server and try to catch a few of the newbies who pop up in uriah because the reason your server is dead is because they log in and find themselves in a huge new area and don't meet anyone for the first 3 hours of playing.

right because 1 new person a day times 20 days and there will be 23 ppl online... on wait, there are no new people

Bollocks, I spent about 30 minutes chatting to someone at Uriah NE and saw around about 4-5 new players without a faction, all it takes is a few seconds to say
"Open your map, zoom right out and look for Mara Congregational Church which is north on the compass. Head there and you'll find players"
Simplez.

Well this is not the place to argue, for now I shall just disagree and add: *new player gets to mara church and sees no people, just tumbleweeds and a sign that says Goligoth Was Here*.
What would i know, I only jack in everyday since beta so i wouldn't know server population if it was right in front of me...
I really should stop pretending to be a newbie..

I had to lol at this one
B) Obviousely your faction is active at recruiting and helping to level "new" people which is very commendable. However, 10 player event? I know of the Resolution events, the Detective stories... maybe if you posted these you are talking about i would be more apt to believe you.
C)80 people on recursion? Either you having an acid flashback or your just reading 75 ppl on the station launcher with 4 or 5 actually jacked in.
Like so many things in life you do NOT get back what you put into it. So many people have put more into this game than can ever be stated, and well, this is what we have gotten back. Anyways... cya on syntax lol.
rec - dead only the lifeless zombies who insist the game is alive and has a future which infact is has none at all a merge would temp cure the prob game over ladies even soe have gave up on the game W_T_F does that tell you? lol maybe the players left shoul dstop wasting there money and come darkfall online with me
I see where this is going, you're expecting me to respond and try debunk your post. We go post for post insulting eachother more and more (And inevitably all your faction mates weigh in too). But that's pointless, you're stalking me over the forums, trying to get a rise out of me as usual (Funny how you didn't bother to post until I did, and not 2 minutes after I did too).
The thread will eventually be locked and we will have successfully ruined another discussion.
But I can't be bothered, I really can't, you can point out my post history all you want, but for some time now I haven't bothered getting into these huge debates cause nothing good ever comes from them and nothing is achieved (Except maybe E-Peen growth).
The moment I hit the post button I had second thoughts, but alas you caught me before I could edit out my post. Well done.
You can take this as a victory if you want, but I truly cannot be bothered debating with you. I'm going to edit out my initial post, but because you still have it quoted I have to address that issue too.
Sorry for my post GQubed, you caught me at a bad time and I posted on a spur of the moment without thinking.
Please continue with your previous discussion.
