Midnight showing, here we come, doo da, doo da.thats what this is for
Someone needs to put up an official spoiler thread, oh de doo da day.

OHH MYYY GOD!!! Heath's Legacy needs MOAR!!!
If I wasn't opening today I could have watched it twice last night. It's that GREAT!!! Heath's performance IS Oscar worthy.

Oh my f*cking god it was so f*cking fantastic I sh*t orgasms the entire movie.I ABSOLUTLY LOVED IT!!! Christopher Nolan and David Goyer did it again... bravo boys. I can only hope we get 1 more film out of you two, but I know Nolan probobly doesnt want to do a 3rd.
Grade A Joker stuff, man. They got everything even down to his flailing fighting style.
Kinda sucks that they would kill off Two Face so quickly, though.
He isnt neccesairly dead. They just want Gotham to think "Harvey Dent" died a hero... later on he could come back and people not really figure out who he is. He's just Twoface now. At least thats one way to look at it.
OH OH and the part where the Joker plays with Two Face in his hospital room - priceless.
I was ready to call this the worst movie ever when Gordon "died." I was so furious I almost started booing.
HAHAHA GOT YA! I KNEW he couldnt be dead, and KNEW he would pop back up when I least expected it. And he surely did ^_^ My favorite part of the movie I think.
Best part was the audience around me. Every single one of them, Batman fans. One of them dressed up as Scarecrow, one as a very convincing Riddler, and another in a full Batman suit. They were all asked to have their pictures taken for the newspaper, I'mma see if I can find it and show you guys. We all cheered when the movie started, reacted generally the same way to every major part of the action, oh, it was friggin unbelievable.
I have a little criticism... it was a little fast paced. But eh, the Joker was so awesome I forgive all flaws.

My favorite Joker moments: Walking outside of the Hospital in the nurse outfit blowing stuff up. & Beating Batman with a pipe.
My favorite Batman moments: Batpod vs. Joker's Semi. & Kicking Joker's arse in the interagation.
My favorite Dent moments: Killing Maroni's driver
My favorite Gordon moment, and of the movie: Snagging the joker @ the S.W.A.T. Truck
Best line of the movie...
Joker: Im like a dog chaseing tires, if I ever got my hands on one I wouldnt know what to do with it!
Going to see it again tomorrow for sure.

hmm, so I got to thinking after the movie that the ending for The Dark Knight really leaves a good opening for the next movie to be Batman Vs Superman. I read on an interview a few months ago on IGN.com that Bale is now more open to the idea of doing a cross over movie, specifically the Batman Vs Superman if its handled correctly. Since the police and Batman has painted Batman as a villian for killing the cops and people, Superman thinks that Batman is out of control and needs to be taken into custody. And so begins the Batman Vs Superman movie.I just got goosebumps
Best magic trick ever.Yeah, I'm going to try and re-enact that at parties! Its great.
Great movie. I will definetly be seeing this one again.
The score to the movie is great too.
2 Hours and 32 minutes of just the movie itself (not including the trailers) is NOT LONG enough for this movie. NEED MOAR!!!

well the question seems now how much will Dark Knight Crush Spidermans 3 Box office record? it set the highest midnight Record at 18.5 Million record and that doesnt count the 3 am and 6 am showings that most theaters haveIt broke our record for sure on our theater as schuduled only to run 6 theaters and it came to be 9 theaters running for the midnight alone with 1600 seats total SOLD OUT.
30% of all the cities in America are reporting that they are sold out for the entire weekend.
If that doesn't tell you how epic this movie is nothing will.

Marias wrote:I believe the Batman Vs. Superman thing was Superman going on a rampage because of the joker, and Batman having to hit him witha kryptonite gun. Looks like it'll be the opposite.Best magic trick ever.Yeah, I'm going to try and re-enact that at parties! Its great.
And yeah iMax, I think that it would be the best course of action to take realistically due to Heath's death too. Have the Batman Vs Superman with like ummm, Brainiac and maybe the Riddler (or something along those lines, a super powered villian for Super-Man to actually fight) pulling the strings from behind the scenes. And then have the next 'solo' Batman film have Two-Face and the recasted Joker as the villians (and probably another villian too, I would really like to see what Nolan would do with the Riddler)

I saw the movie at 9:30am and it was packed! I 've never seen anything like it. I thought the movie was amazing, I would be MORE THAN upset if Heath Ledger DIDN'T win the oscar for his role as the Joker. Just watching the Joker in this movie gave me chills down my spine, it was almost disturbing.
I think that there is going to be a 3rd film, Nolan wouldn't leave the movie with such a cliffhanger like that and having it BEG for a 3rd film. Afterall, it is more of a cliffhanger ending than the first one. Also, I don't think that the Joker should be recasted. For one, it would be insulting (in my opinion) to Heath Ledger. And Two...I don't think it's possible to find ANYONE who could play that part as well as he did, it would be a waste of time to even try, I think Ledger's legacy as being the Joker should remain as it is now.
Christopher Nolan is by far, one of the best directors in the business right now, and I would say, one of the best in cinema history. If you haven't seen his other films I STRONGLY suggest watching them. All of them are dark, and go very deep into the human psyche, specifically personal identity. Afterall, this new series of batman movies could have been just another corny superhero rehash of the old films. INSTEAD, Nolan has given us an EXTREMELY well developed, SUPERBLY filmed movie that not only entertains but also makes those watching think. Because be honest, does anyone really know who they really are? Of course not, and Nolan knows this and brings this to light.
I loved every moment of this movie, my only problem is that I have to wait to see if there is another!

QFMFT
I was laughing long after that scene and people next to me were looking at me in frustration. I just smiled back psychotically.
Alright, so I absolutely LOVED this movie.yeah those two joker parts were Great and the part where Gordon sneaks up on Joker to take him in that was great the whole intergation scene was awsome i have to say this movie may need to be nominated for best picture as well as well as ledger for best actor or suporting actor but i think he should get the actor job he stole the movie actaully my two villains i would love to see nolan do is now since rachel died id think it be perfect to throw in catwoman and possibly the Riddler
Best parts of movie - Wanna see a magic trick? and when hes walking out of the hospital.. F'in hilarious
Saddest part - when rachel dies
Overall... GREAT movie!

It was a perfect Batman movie: The super dark tone. The detective work. The gadgets. Batman flying (literally) through windows and slamming right into criminals. The fight sequences were better. They even had the cowl in the last sequence with the white/pupil-less eyes, right from the comic (and a cool explanation for that, too). The Nolans truly do "get" the things that are the hallmark of Batman.yeah so what villians to cast i think i read somewhere Nolan wants to do riddler for the next role and if he could i think the perfect casting would be johny depp and if they wanna do some one else do Catwoman since bruce wayne needs a new love intrest atleast intrudce selena and tease the roleThe beginning was a direct flow from Begins, with the Scarecrow still in play, the old bat suit being used. It was also quite cool how they very deliberately explained how and why Batman needed the newer iteration of the bat suit for this film. The Batmobile self-destructing also leaves the door open for a new iteration of the vehicle in the 3rd film. There's really no words that can qualify Ledger's Joker. Completely unpredictable and terrifying. I had read previously on AICN that this was one of the great "villain performances" on film (along with Hannibal Lecter, etc.), and I had thought that was overkill. After seeing TDK for the first time tonight, honestly I don't find that to be an exaggeration. The film held back absolutely nothing (which was perfect) in portraying how sick he is. When he makes a "joke", he's the only one laughing. Everyone else is collateral damage to the punch line.As a Chicagoan seeing the film and all the locations downtown was particularly cool. People could be heard in the audience around me throughout pointing out the various locations/street names. In any event, next Saturday night is a second viewing on IMAX at Navy Pier. Can't get here fast enough.
That was an excellent movie. Perhaps perfect. Probably the best movie I will see for a good, long time.
I bought Harvey's change, I bought Bruce's crusade, and my God, the Joker... This movie actually made me sad that Heath Ledger was dead, because we will never see him play the Joker again. I think most of it just came down to the ticks he had - the lip-licking/gum chewing noise he always made, the constant telling of the scar stories, the absolute chaos and madness. It was absolutely perfect.
It did leave the question about the next movie, though. With Harvey dead and Heath err... dead, we've lost two of the real stars of the movie, which is really, really sad. New villains that I could sort of see working are Catwoman and the Penguin, with the possibility of the Riddler, if his character were modified to meet the gritty new precedent of the movie series. I'd be really disappointed to see any of the superpowered villains (or heroes, even, with the talk in this thread of a Batman v. Superman thing) because it would spoil the reality of it all. It'd be like putting pew pew lazhurs in the Matrix (oh wait?). So I'd be rather disappointed if we saw a Freeze or Ivy anywhere down the line. With a good enough actress, I suppose a good Harley could carry out the Joker arc, but I just don't think it'd be the same.
Honestly, I half-expected them to have a SWAT team member or one of the cops with family in the hospital to blow the Joker's head off in the end, if for nothing else than to write him out due to Ledger's death.

This movie was epic.
Heath Ledger set a whole new bar for the epic madman with his portrayal of the Joker in this film. One of the first things I said to my girlfriend after walking out of the theater was "he was better than Jack"
I thought the movie was good. I enjoyed it. Ledger owned every scene he was in.
Though I did have the same problem with it I had with "Begins", I can't stand Bale's "Batman voice".
and for those who havent seen it yet and have younger kids or younger brothers or sisters i advise to pass if they scare easly cause im sure two face will give them nightmares for a lil wile

nubious81 wrote:yeah disturbing but so darn good he deserves best actor for sure.and for those who havent seen it yet and have younger kids or younger brothers or sisters i advise to pass if they scare easly cause im sure two face will give them nightmares for a lil wile
Not only that, but Ledger's portrayal as the the Joker was actually disturbing in my opinion

ooooooh yea, I forgot about the creepy shrill winding sound that always played when the joker was coming up.
