Whats up with them org abilities someone coded  for me? I was barely awake and I remember a trade. It looked like a solid white box in the trade..and I uploaded only for it to  disappear..if this goes in another thread my appologies..but whats up on all that? Is there supposed to be a tree on that *poop*? is it an exploit? when will it be made since the codes are in existence? were they inspired by the pills in the org constructs? so many questions, dudes

Nah. It takes a while to get a Stun to happen, and remember it's draining IS all the time, and quite rapidly too: you won't be able to fight as well as normal and wait for a Stun to happen.

So... When's the hotfix coming? Obviously these weren't meant for proper release yet and Rarebit said they were going to be made unloadable (hopefully not permanently...)

Technically this means that people who do switch orgs will never use some of the abs. As getting to max rep is near impossible, even when you've only ever been running missions for 1 org.

Oh, if they ever do implement these LIVE, then the fact you need good org rep points is awesome!

What was mentioned about org abilites in the past was about their function, connected with active operatives (I believe).

One thing is clear, there is a BIG shift in buffs given and that most certainly needs to be addressed, if they are ever to be considered to be active, but yea it's awesome that you need to reputation to earn them and max rep for the top tier is a great thing too.

What?
Personally I think the buffs are fine. I know that are are powerful, but there is a use and long re-use timers which balances them out. Also if lots of people are running around with them, then things are balanced as everyone has the power.
#36300436987 04/04/2008 07:52:59 Re:Update 59 Discussion - April 03, 2008

Tier 2? is serious flawed.

40% Health regen to Mecs.
15% Defense on all defenses to Mervs.
23 points of resistance to all attacks to Zion.

These have no timers and are passive.

Can't see the problem with it, just maybe up the mero one to 20%.

Yeah, I'd say bring them up to 40-50pts of Resistance for Zion

Darkhawk's Gallery | Section 9's Past | Metal Gear?! It's already active?!
There can only be room for one Snake, and one Big Boss!
#36300437023 04/04/2008 08:32:43 Re:Update 59 Discussion - April 03, 2008

LOL at the nerf whiners already.  These aren't even officialy and intentionally out yet.  Relax.

Although, I am a bit worried at the max ability.  It's cut off on the description as to what the rep requirement is, but if it's 127 that's gonna be a big problem.  I've been Mero since beta and over the course of about two years I have gone up from 123 rep to 124 rep.  If the odds of gaining a rep point stay at .001% or whatever then no one will get the top tier item unless they constantly grind standard missions for many, many months, and even then you could just be unlucky and never hit that magic number.

Max rep represent! *Throws his fist in the air dramatically.*

Eh, that is to say, I have maximum reputation with the Machines. I know it can be tough to get max rep, but it's more a case of the people not getting it for years being unlucky than the ones who do get it being lucky. It took me a few months to go from 126 to 127, but not forever.

#36300437116 04/04/2008 11:15:39 Re:Update 59 Discussion - April 03, 2008
I think we should be looking at these like this.

1. What needs to be changed so these can go live?
       Bugs
Obviously that one where people can use all of the org abilities.
       Balance Issues
How balanced are they in comparison to the skills of the other orgs?
       Design
Is there something with the design that must be changed because of what I said above?
Do all of the abilities have proper visual for activation?
             What about ability icons?
I really think the community could make some great icons if they gave us specifications to work off of. (this is if icons don't already exist)

Development Team, Please find a way to work with us and get these into a usable state.  Lets's not let this go the way of Zen master.

Yeah I've been playing Villemar since beta and sometime over the course of last year I went from 123 to 124 (I almost fell out of my chair when I got that rep point).  So, at that rate, despite my many, many days of /play time over the years, it looks like I can look forward to getting my Retribution ability in 2011.

I do have a question though, why do people keep trying to provide feedback on these things when their not even being worked on?

This is what HCFrog had done when he left.

We knew that.

We were never supposed to know they were coded up and there lying dormant.

Their not coming out, Rarebit has said as much in the past.

Could he be lying? Sure maybe, but I doubt it. The amount of balancing time that would have to go into it is to much "dev time" to invest because it would require sacrifice in other areas that they are not willing to sacrifice.

Oh, but aside from that point, dear lord fix rep gain plz.
#36300437144 04/04/2008 12:10:09 Re:Update 59 Discussion - April 03, 2008

I think they slipped them in by accident... on purpose.... just so they could hint to us that they ARE being completed, and will be ready to use soon.

Only my opinion, and Phluffish intuition.  >.>

#36300437146 04/04/2008 12:12:56 Re:Update 59 Discussion - April 03, 2008
I know they were tabled so to say, but that doesn't mean I want to give up on them.  The devs were able to do something we were always told was impossible/not going to happen, in Datamine.  I think a lot of people would love it if we really got new abilities like this.

This is all about 'pet projects' over the winter holiday and beginning of the year.

With Rarebit it was creating Datamine and with Dracomet it's finishing off the Org abilities, with 9mmFu QA'ing them

After they're done they're gonna have plenty of time (aside from their busy normal task time) to look at Zen and Citadel and all the others! After they're in they're probably gonna look at creating new clothing models...

I told you over the winter they had a tidy up of the office and found the instruction manuals for everything previously thought were lost or left with Monolith. Next year expect melee weapons!

Well... perhaps SMILEY

Still makes me wonder, if these were the abs that HCFrog was working on why have they suddenly appeared now after so many updates? Surely it cant be a matter of accidentally pressing the button next the to patch button...

These white boxes in our inventory (if you got bored and coded them last night like I did) are placeholders.  They are the exact same white placeholder boxes that we saw in our inventory when /copied our characters  over to the CR2 QA test server, placeholders for items that hadn't been given CR2 stats yet.

Placeholders are placeholders for something, not a random accident.
