We'll have to see how it goes. So far I'm seeing far too much love and not enough ganking!
Fortunately it's a server variable we can update at any time. =)

Like, as in throw in NPCs like oh, Smithlings, Unlimits, MAYBE something like an Accelerator or Deaccelerator with some Accelerated exiles along with them to defend them. The super data tap sounds kinda cool though, but what would it do?Just give twice as much $info; ie, we would cut the base $info payout in there now down to x5 from x10, then put in these super taps that give x2 (over a Data Scrambler 0.4), to get you back up to x10, IF you manage to hold on to one of them.
Basically, I'm observing so far in Datamine that greed is a more powerful force than the urge to gank others, so everyone's just sitting around next to reds, merrily sucking the place dry. =P This would be a way to make things a little more...competitive in there, by leveraging that supreme power of greed!
Hm, it wouldn't hurt if they generated just slightly more ripple, too, I suppose.
As far as NPCs go, I think we'll stick to the current menagerie that pops out of nodes... There will be some NPCs added to the Datamine itself in a few spots for questy type stuff.
Make sure you leave it at 10x til you get the new taps out though (awesome idead though). Cuz i wanna be able to level all the abilities on my main!
How would you know if someone had one of these data taps on them?Luggables?

Hopefully, there would be a way to know that someone has one without having to alter your load.

YES PLEASE

I have my reservations when it comes to certain engagement protocols, but once again, it's probably only me.

Wow. Did PvP ever suck in there tonight. One hyper ftl. Sorry devs, but that was a total failure of an idea. Against a team that was balanced between MKT, hax, and snipers, I couldn't last more than two or three exchanges. Being able to last only 4 seconds in pvp sucks, especially when you have to crawl back into a construct.
(Oh, and the patch seems to have taken a look at the CameraPhysics parameters... *grumble*)

Being a trauma surgeon, like you were, is like having a big bullseye on your back. That's why you only lasted 4 seconds. Also, I noticed most of the people I was pvping against were simply jumping away when they were attacked. Might of lasted longer if they hadn't of run away.

Yea, some of us where there to DM, not fight

I beg to differ actually... I and several other people tonight commented that this was the most fun we'd had in MXO in ages. Large scale PVP battles with this system have been quite enjoyable.By large scale you mean you and your team running around trying to gank people before they turn on Master shadow right?

EDIT: Hey 8ayamo I also have a macro called tap...
macro Tap FTW, who taps without this macro?
I believe I should get royalties, or some sort of tribute for the macro tap idea!
The 1st night in Datamine was great. Ganking on a large scale great cq the 1st night. Now last night it was hard to get as much cq as i did the 1st time even with mkt loaded they either A.) go into master shadow as soon as they see you. or B.) hyperjump 3 times in a row. O well guess its just gonna be somethin were gonna have to deal with lol
Now, many people want the info nerfed, some think that the high amount will crash MxO's economy, other thinks it's ridiciouls that you can now get 100 mil in just four hours when back before this construct, it took alot of selling of items, opporunities, and "hard" work. I can understand where these people are coming from and I can appericate their position. That's why I think we should look at several options beside nerfing.
There are some of my ideas, you can critque them if you want.
1. Make Data Spawn appear more often. Now it is true that all you have to do is HJ up and they dissapear, but that's doesn't happen all the time. Sometimes they chase you and sometimes just HJ straight up and back down doesn't get rid of them. It would make the Data mining alittle bit harder and tust make people work harder for the x10 info rate.
2. Allow the "ripple" affect not only make agents appear but clue other redpills in on your location. Yes, this will probably turn into a gank fest, but once again, it is a FFA and it does make it harder to get the info.
3. If the devs are going to go with the Super Data Tap idea, then I would suggest a Pandora Box, Area K, Patchers 'dana style of mission to get this Super Data Tap. I don't really know what they mean by making it "rare", are we talking FM-1500 rare, Assassin mask rare, or are we talking more in line with Patcher's 'dana, Area K or the drops from Pandora's box rare? I think if we impliment the Super Data Tap in a quest style mission where you have to work hard to get it, then I think alot of us would be willing to do the quest just to get it lol.
4. Finally, if we are going down the Nerf road, instead of nerfing it to x5, couldn't we instead do x7 or x6?
Anyways, that's my thought, you guys can take it or leave it.

Don't react to the complaints of those who will always find something to complain about. The worries about the economy are unfounded and overzealous, it'll balance out soon enough (as it always does). You know this to be true.
I figured the info would be progressively lowered to accomodate the economy and for the novelty wearing off. Don't go all screaming sirens on it just because of a few constant whines.
I've ganked quite a lot of reds data mining in there, it's very easy. Because, they've hybrid there build and there accuracy is terrible..

Hats off to you and the team Rare.
(O and Ex i don't know if you was referring to me as a complainer but your mistaken. I love this new patch it rocks the socks!!)
Gank or be Ganked people!!! That is all

I'm sure you are, Rare. However, the true state of the economy won't be revealed until things such as Headgears go for the same 250, or an inflated 500mill.
The only reason there'd be to change the drop is to appease the members of the community who have somehow found a way to complain about it. I understand the important of being proactive, but there's no evidence to support a shift in the economy, as of yet. I'm not saying I oppose it being lowered, just to doing so dramatically, and in one fell swoop. It is called 'Datamine' after all.
Perhaps I just like having infoz for once.
(Not at all, Lilac. I've only seen positive comments from you.)
I can farm 50 mil within much less than 3 hours. That good fact for ya? Shift in the economy always occurs when a new source of money/$info is introduced without the black hole like the orgkeys. The shift will happen no doubt and it's actually a good one, since in other games lvling abilities compared to expensive items there is a similar difference, so this will helps many of the players who keep lacking info until they are about lvl 45.I'm sure you are, Rare. Wait 250 mill for a headgear? Thats it? *CENSORED*?!?!
Yeah, Recursion goes buck-wild for those things, to the tune of 500mill+ from what I've seen. No clue why.

I understand the concept of a shift in any given economy. My point is that it's nowhere near the doomsday scenario posited by so many on these forums.
A progressive phasing of the info loot would accomodate both long-term players looking to boost their bank, and the low levels who would've otherwise found themselves behind.
Tis all Rare's call, regardless. I'm sure it'll be fine. Changes in MxO are never anywhere near as bad as the community makes them out to be.
Edit: 'Boost their bank'? I went a little street there, yo. I blame faction chat.

Great Patch... Shows you can add areas in the future. And alter current items that we were originally told it would be very hard to. My kudos to all involved. Its even brought players back from hiding which is very nice to see. ![]()
However...
To some the construct is amazing... to others a dread... its great for the pvpers to go for cq points.... great for money IF your a lvl 45 and up or need to buy that CR1 item or headgear. Also makes it nice to be able to go thru HL's without lag due to pvp.
But for people around 30 and under this new area is a pain in the *** and a waste of time. Can make more money running missions. The equipment we have to use is nothing compared to whats available to lvl 45 and up. We dont get near as much info. Most I got was 112k. Average 75k. Not to mention every one is immediately after you as soon as u log in. You cant use MS like lvl 50's can. And there are only 2 zones where you can tap the nodes without it saying over your ability to tap. And yes there are zones Nice feature i might add on the map. ![]()
All in all a great patch keep more like this coming. But it sux that either I have to grin to 50 or miss out on making booku bucks like everyone else. I mean who wouldnt want to make 120 mil in a day of playing without the tedious task of the headgear quests. Especially since lvling to 50 is what costs you mioney not being lvl 50.

The point of the construct is to inject some more entertaining and varied ways of making info than standard missioning, hence the FFA pvp, countering the promise of great info with the threat of being ganked by anyone and everyone.Great Patch... Either way at your level all you really need info for is to level abilities. It's once you get to the higher levels, especially level 50 that you need bucketloads of info. Between the price of the multitude of items we need, levelling other trees, maintaining our inventory and so on being a 50 is actually drastically more expensive than levelling up to 50.
Farm lot's of Sakuras, Widows moor caps, shades, Yuki gloves and other drops in the other constructs when your a low level.. you will make a BUCK load of information from that, guarenteedGreat Patch... It's easy, paint a large sun and in the middle one black shape, which would be the tool in MS, abusing a game feature.
