I challenge you, sir, to do more than post pointlessly and rebutt my post here. You say there is no point, yet I say there is and then some. Who is right? Oh, and if you can't be arsed to respond, then please quit trolling this thread. *insert obligatory smiley-face here*
In responding to Mad's point, I myself wouldn't mind what he's proposing, except it is even less likely to happen than just an RP server merge.
Also, I suspect that some of the reason Rarebit has been hosting things like the thread about the servers being on medium and the Biological Interface party is to show that the server pop isn't as small as it sometimes seems.
Be calm. I posted relevant content, then merely changed my mind. My comment above was simply an alternative to "Nevermind," or similar.

Ah, my mistake. However, the challenge still stands to you or anyone who claims that no good could come of a server merge.
Hmm. Well, I certainly can't argue with that logic.
However, as a point of fact, no one here in this thread is arguing that a server merge is intended to "Save MXO". Rather, it's merely desired to bring more of the remaining player base together to share the everyday gaming experience.
A noble enough notion, but it's still not the answer to longevity. It's more trouble than it's worth.
That's pretty much all there is to say, for me. There's little point in debating over opinion. Some will want it, some won't, and that will never change.
I truly hope it doesn't happen. Selfishly, Syncursion would signal my departure, most likely.
Why merge the servers when people can just stop being lazy and lvl a char on all 3 then we just all go to one one day and all go to the other servers the next days and bam there ya go, you have a server merge kthxbai.
Such claims may be silly, merely boasting, but well, sometimes they are true...
... such as the QA server when Vector wiped out all of you peeps... PvP stopped completely after like 2 days... lol
I have a suggestion: How about we close BOTH Syntax and Recursion, and you all join us in Vector?
Think about how fun THAT would be!
Seriously, I don't see how you could merge all 3, and NOT make it hostile.
It just isn't the Matrix.
That might be fun...but... us Vectorites don't need the drama so they could merge all three servers, make it hostile, and have a scaled down server where the drama can continue...
Also I agree with you about a single server not being hostile, "It just insn't the Matrix."
- A fair few more players (Recursion probably has around.. 40-50 active players?) - Populated hardlines - Oppourtunities for events and meetings (There'd be no lack of interest, you'd get quite a few people I'd imagine) - Bigger PvP - More PvP (As well as more players in it, there would be more people around the clock logged in - Better impression for lowbies as they will see a lot more people - Easier for Rarebit + Live events - More time to put in other things (quests, items)
I wouldn't even say lag would be a problem, because we'd only be inheriting only handful more players than what the servers used to hold (10x more!)

ftw ok devy merge servers now kthx ;P or everyone move to syntax since the population there is like WoW compared to the amount of people on recursion.

I've been on Syntax quite alot lately, and I've seen people in /who no matter where I've been. I don't know if its normally like this or if its just because of Halloween but Yeah, It's good.

been playing there for about a month and such and the time i been there its always packed its very rare for me to find mara below 8 to 13( but thats normally at the really late times during the day syntax is packed ) people i think i only seen that about 3 times out of the month

agreed 100%, but is this merging really possible?,and if so what would happen?do thet shut down a whole server and flip a coin as in whos gonna get it ? or everybody stays with their chracters as they are?

Bolding mine. Yeah, exctly. I've got a Machinist alt and a male Exile on Syntax, so I really don't want to sacrifice either of them if this were to happen.
:: Thumbsup to Dr5mith for posting the "beating a dead horse" animated GIF:: Here's one that's a leetle quicker:

I'd say they would merge whichever server is least populated into the more populated server, since that would take less work. Hm, I cannot remember if, when they merged the 9 servers into 3, we had to do some sort of /copychar or if they just did all the work for us.. perhaps could someone remind how they went about doing it before?
With your logic there Spha, your pretty much saying merge Vector and Reccy. No, no and no. I'v just lvld up on a non hostile server and naw, i will always be with the hostile's
If there was a merge to happen, i would like to see maybe character transfers made available to non hostile's over to vector (after all mainly the reason people dont come over is cause they either can be bothered lvln another char or they'll lose the so precious/meaningless cq points.)
Recursion Drama would pwn syntax, this I know, they can hardly handle me, and I tone it down quite a bit when I'm over on Syntax, but meh, w/e keeps the fish from being caught in a huge net and being served for dinner, I guess.
