lol Try living on Vector. From my point of view this is just what we needed to have some were new to go and fight if we wish to just cuz we are all flaged that dos not mine we have to fight. lol but just think if there was anyone in your org you would like to kill now you can... see not all badGrave

So... With this new area, Zion can fight EPN and Mech can fight Cyph, huh ?

Hopefully it will be like Vinia pointed out and only be FFAPVP if you type /pvp

The non-hostile servers have PvP constructs. How is this any different?

Pvp for the win, vector ftw.
Awesome.
While FFA is fun, I rather see not see that, but that still could be interesting!
So a better place to datamine? I wish you add a bit more than just that, or hope you have.

ManicV wrote:Exactly... an area as detailed and lush as this shouldn't be just an area for PvP... This one actually seems worth going to for non-combat purposes.
A lot of people are complaining about, "oh it's only for datamining and pvp? lame." But keep in mind that the image retrieval says:
"Phase 1
Population: 0
Interior Access: Restricted
Mining Yield: *10"
This leads me to believe that there will be future phases with more things to do in this area. Rather than wait to add all sorts of things into it, he is probably letting us test the area with pvp and datamining, in case there are any bugs that he has missed. I believe in a previous post he mentioned that there were bluepills inside the buildings and he would have to take them apart to remove the bluepills for the next patch (which is why interior access would currently be restricted). Really, would he have made this large and detailed of an area just for datamining and pvp? I think we can expect a lot more from this area (at least I hope so) in future updates. Who makes a Phase 1 without a Phase 2?
You make a good point, we can all hope that you are quite correct.A lot of people are complaining about, "oh it's only for datamining and pvp? lame." But keep in mind that the image retrieval says:

Sounds good to me. I guess we'll just hafta wait and see?A lot of people are complaining about, "oh it's only for datamining and pvp? lame." But keep in mind that the image retrieval says:

If you're saying that Friendly Protocols being Engaged indicates FFA being enabled, then Enemy Protocols being Engaged certainly means perma-PvP.
Just something to work with. It's still an awesome area.
-Collbard- wrote:Since these are from the Archivist Society, one could assume that Rarebit is just showing this as an excerpt from the development of the Datamine construct. Having said that, maybe Phase 2 will show more features in the Datamine we'll see (which could be the result of Datamine: Phase x). Sort of like a teaser, showing only a few features that will be available at a time through showing how (in the Matrix) Datamine was developed over the course of it's timeline (started with FFA pvp, restricted access to interiors in Phase 1, but x, y, and z features were later added in Phase 2, etc.) with the final retrieval showing it in the state we'll see it as. Hope that big of mumbling made sense, couldn't think of how to say what I was trying to convey. =PSounds good to me. When does this come out??

Hmmm... Enemy protocols are engaged in Richland but in Syntax and Recursions case, to actually use them you have to flag. If it said enemy protocols disabled then when you flag you wouldn't be able to target enemy personnel. If you're saying that Friendly Protocols being Engaged indicates FFA being enabled, then Enemy Protocols being Engaged certainly means perma-PvP.

That hasn't been done since the start of the game (barring the Commando white halls, but they were easy)! However little there is to do in there, we technically just got a huge boost of content. I think just having the place is all we can fairly expect for the time being.I am lured into posting.
The fact that the data mining payout is increased in this area leads me to believe that there will be a tradeoff: namely that you are attackable by everyone in the construct. I would imagine it's a balancing measure to keep 50 people from sitting in there data mining together. You have to find a good hiding place if you want to camp and data mine (or a good team protecting you... a team you can trust
) or else you'll have to fight to stay in there.
Plus... I remember making a post a long time ago where I prophesized that a new area open to all levels would suck everyone out of the city and then all our new players would really think MxO's a ghost town. The FFA construct area would prevent people from idling AFK in the new area just for fun.
Lastly, from my experience with the FFA areas during the Joker Finale, being flagged FFA makes you immediately attackable by everyone, regardless of your level. I imagine that's how this construct will be.

If you want no combat stay in the dam megacity.
Constructs are build for pvp

Someone missed the point lol.
Construct <> Archieve. I don't see a perma flag in the Zion, Merv or Mech Construct whatsoever.

Oh, and can we get that nifty top-down perspective on the existing districts at some point? That'd be really cool.Hey, yeah! Man, that'd make for some awesome maps. We could more easily measure distances and mark out kilometers and the like for navigational purposes. Something for Broadcast Depth to think about?
Pshh, Vinia. You were a little too late >_>I know... and I was ready to pull out this handy guide that someone made...
We do noone is disputing the fact that Archives are meant for pvp. The weak link there is that this isn't an archive.Ok thats fine.
I echo this sentiment.HOLY MACKEREL!!!

I understand what the difference is in the 'current' constructs and archives... BUT
And... I mentioned this before, but I don't think anybody saw it. I know the image 'Says' Construct, BUT... one of the images he released yesterday showed an 'Archivist' being used to get into the area..... like the current Archives.......... so which is it really?
A Construct (like the others) OR An Archive (like the others)
OR
I think it could be something in between... not one or the other. So we won't know exactly how the pvp/ffa/etc will really be, until more information is released. I think this is a hybrid of what we are used to. Something completely new. Time will tell.

Lets just not get back into the Archive/Construct argument again.

Oh your god..!!!!!
Ive just wet myself..... Can not wait till this is out...
