"Do not resist, you are required?"Just two intereptations Ive thought of.
- You are required not to resist and to follow what is said.
- You are not to resist, you are needed for something?
Mm, I thought of something along the lines of #2 when I first saw the cinematic. A Machine program that went rogue and is either being reprogrammed or Exiled?
Procurator wrote:The guy in the Zion mission was also a little off his rocker, as evidenced by the operator's comment, "Why is it always the crazy hicks or the nutjobs that see this stuff?"The Machine mission implied the Intruder is tall. So I think either the Agents that were ported in to deal with him were extra tall by design, or that was the only mistake in the cinematic.
A guy in the Zion mission said he was 7 or 8 feet tall.

Poor voice acting, or is the Intruder actually required?
The first thing I thought when he appeared was "Holy crap that's an aura from CoH! He's at least level 30."

If it's Neo, I seriously doubt he would remember the guy he was or what's his purpose now. If you noticed in the cinematic when he arrives at the base of the monument (before the Agents arrive) he appears to be thinking, perhaps trying to recollect?
Two clues from the cinematic for me was the name of the location and the Agents responses. Ascension Monument, and the "Do not resist, you are required." Perhaps it is Neo in a higher form created by the Machines (The Architect to be specific).
His attack on the Agents would tell me that if this "experiment" was made by the Architect, then it is obviously failed.
Another thing I thought of as I wrote this. Could it be a copy of Neo? Maybe in the same fashion as Smith?

*shrugs* just some ideas.
I seem to remember the Bag Lady talking about something big hyperjumping around in Moriah Projects more than a year ago...
That was the Morpheus Sim.

What the Agent said was a little confusing. The subtitle implies that the Agent was cut off mid-sentence, and was going to say something like: 'You are required to submit for interrogation.' But the voice pronounced it as if it was a complete sentence: 'You are required.'

The "..." implies mid sentence.

For those wondering as to the significance of the monument, read the background info for the neigbourhood, its where all the previous ones appeared after talking to the architect and choosing the 'reset' door.

Oh and...

Hahaha. Nice.
The "..." implies mid sentence.I know, but the voice acting treated the ellipsis as a full stop. That's what it sounds like to me, anyway.

I think she was basically making the case for the "hack the ground smash" which is Morpheus's signature. That's what she was rambling about size for.
Anyway... I don't really know what to think of this. To be honest, I think it's kind of lame to have ZOMG SUPERMAN made of pure white polygons running around the city. It is too Anome for me. I'll be happy if the thing finds a body in Neo or Sarah or whoever. Right now my thoughts of who it might be are:
Mystery man from 8.3, but that doesn't make much sense since he has a corporeal body in the Real, which should translate to a decent looking human RSI in the Matrix.
Neo, or at least his consciousness, or otherwise an embodiment of the code of the One looking for a host, likely to be filled by the compilation of RSI Fragments or by somehow "possessing" Sarah Edmontons.
Sarah Edmontons either morphed into another form (what happens to the One when he/she is not awakened from the Matrix?) or the program of the One separating itself from her RSI and going rampaging.
Like I said, it'll be better when it finds a body. I'm not much of a fan of things looking "out of place" in the Matrix - it's meant to be a simulation of 1999 in all its perfect glory, and when we have folks with less-than-subtle superpowers and/or appearances it throws off the whole motif.

If you remembers from the first appearence of the LED Agents, we learned from Neo's own final thoughts, that the monuments were left behind for us, to guide us. Hmm, while I'm not sure that this is Neo, whatever it is is very powerful. Perhaps another previous One? Or maybe it IS an intruder, something not from the Matrix... guess we'll have to see.
Could be...
But looking back on what I said, since Neo's memories are in possesion of all three Orgs, if this is Neo, then he is most likely "mindless" and probably very dangerous. But he only attacked when he felt threatened, so, this will be interesting.
((PS the music is a really nice touch, very moody, I like it
))

Quite possibly, the Red Pills have never had a use for them besides having parties or stuff like that. Maybe the Intruder/Neo/Whoever will have a better use for them.
((Which event was it where the Monuments started to decay?))

The moments started to decay towards the end of "The Hunt for Morpheus".
And where does this "Neo made the monuments" thing come from? Sister Margaret's first mission says that the Sculptress created the monument in Mara. She probably created at least a few of the others.
"Archival Science in a Post-War Simulation".

"Logging Tips for New People and Veterans Alike".
-
"Submit Your Logs".

Hell cant have a key or box without one to craft "sculpt" the objects =P just my imagination tho =SEbola wrote:Havocide wrote:Death of the Destroyer. And I really wish someone had screenies of that. ((doubt it but thought it was cool when I though of it

QFT.?
xD

All I gotta say is I'm so freakin' happy they finally gave Roger's Way a central spot in active storyline, given the region's history!!!

Anyway, to discuss the actual cinematic, I always figured we'd see Ascension Monument have significance. That door must lead somewhere.. bout time we see it in action. IMO, here's my theory on the wire-frame entity. It is slightly possible it is Neo, however I believe it must be that mysterious man surrounded by the A.I. in the Real. Remember, he somehow was watching the events between Neo and Deus Ex. How did he obtain these? It's improbably he was given records, so this leads me to believe he hacked into the machine database to achieve these recordings. This further leads me to believe that he could obtain any and all information that is held into the machine database. Thus, he somehow found a way to hack into the Matrix, either jacking in himself, or controlling this wire-frame entity in his HQ that would transcend the machines dominant power over the system, as he displayed with his quick dealing with the Agents. It is also possible that the Ascension Monument could lead to a construct in which this mystery mans presides and unleashes this wire-frame entity. Either way, we now know he presents a serious threat to the machines and the entire simulation, and for this he must be stopped.
I disliked the scale of the guy at the end, cuz he looked 20 feet tall instead of 7-8, but other than that I thought it looked good. I think the devs are trying to make up for no longer having in-game cinematics.

Uh...we have a different guy than Chadwick that does the cinematic art. I'm pretty sure he just comes up with the concept art, unless I'm mistaken.

Animation is not done by Chadwick, but the drawings are, which is my main complaint, cause he doesn't even draw the backgrounds now, just uses in-game shots that are zoomed and look ugly, hence him just being lazy. The in-game look is cool when mixed like we saw in previous cinematics but when the entire cinematic has it it just looks cheesy.
This is way more significant than another mega bad guy. If my guess is right, this is the mysterious glowing guy that's been standing in the background of event and chapter banners from day one. He's probably also the reason we've seen Agents lying around dead since Chapter 8.1 (or was it 8.2?), and could very well have ties to Mystery Man - or even be him!Can someone post these banners? I haven't seen them.

You think he'd have more time to work on this stuff...
Holy smokes, so Chadwick just does the storyboards now.. so now he does no Sentinel, no updated blogs, and now he doesn't even actually do the cinematics, just the preliminary storyboards?
You think he'd have more time to work on this stuff...
He works on other projects that aren't The Matrix, by the way.
Hell, he hasn't updated his main blog in ages, either.

Okay, so I had seen them but I hadn't noticed the glowing guy before. He's very subtle. Thanks Remag.
/leftfield...maybe
Maybe he's an Alien from outer space! Or an Alien AI! Maybe the reason the Sentinels are all around 01 all the sudden is because they are fighting off an Alien invasion force! Rarebit said the story would go in a different direction, Aliens would be different!

If this ever happened I'd quit. Immediately.
...But I bet if it did, that the new One would be an alien who Jacks In with the power of love. Ooh Yeah!
