Hmph. I would really like to see like a trio of bad guys being our enemies of the system. I'm kind of tired of there being this singular being that has the power to kill all... aka, Assassin and Anome.

But anywho, I just hope that we don't linger on trying to figure out who this being is for 5 weeks, only to find out in the next cinematic.

Holy smokes, so Chadwick just does the storyboards now.. so now he does no Sentinel, no updated blogs, and now he doesn't even actually do the cinematics, just the preliminary storyboards?
Procurator wrote:
I don't think this is Chadders' fault. He only does the storyboards, not the animation. And the scaling isn't a problem apart from when he's next to the Agents: the Intruder is big.
Told you. SMILEY

This is way more significant than another mega bad guy. If my guess is right, this is the mysterious glowing guy that's been standing in the background of event and chapter banners from day one. He's probably also the reason we've seen Agents lying around dead since Chapter 8.1 (or was it 8.2?), and could very well have ties to Mystery Man - or even be him!

Mean this dude?

He in both of those

Yup.
#36300354412 11/16/2007 09:40:33 Re:**SPOILERS** Cinematic 9.1
I thought the in game use (background) mixed with the wireframe person drawn looked quite messy. Past cinematics (black and white ones) have been more fierce than this one. :( It's got a good story-booster to it, though.
#36300354413 11/16/2007 09:40:41 Re:**SPOILERS** Cinematic 9.1
Chadwick *always* did the storyboards. He never did the actual animation.

And the dead Agents are from datamining.

Mmhmmm... and Halloween Masquerade (2005) and Veil of Cryptos...

Also, unless he's hidden very well, I don't think he is in every single one.....

It is the Assassin resurrected with Cheat Code powers. Remember, in the cinematic that the Assassin dies, we do see a single fly buzz across the screen clearly, and during the Unlimit battle, a shot of the laser did disturb the Uriah wharf where the Assassin presides, as well as the dumped cheat codes that might have contaminated the stream. It's possible that the Assassin is pure raw, powerful code atm. The wire-frame is probably just to show his appearance and the size of him (and perhaps to see this enemy in-game).. who knows what or how much cheat codes got entangled with the Assassin's code in the wharf. As for appearing at Ascension Monument, that is still a mystery, as we do not know what leads through that door.

The "Matrix" short story by Neil Gaiman, "Goliath" (featured in one of the "Matrix Comics" anthologies, and now in his short story collection "Fragile Things") mentioned aliens attacking the Matrix from the outside by dropping asteroids on the Machines or possibly the Machine City. Might have something to do with it...

Whoa. Is that one on their website? I wasn't aware that any matrix media had dealt with the possibility of aliens coming into the mix (not counting exiles, anyway). If so, that'd really help shake things up.

yeah, it's on the Thematrix.com under the comics. it's the first series. pretty good read; I read it a while back.

As for the 'Intruder', he's not Neo.

   Yep.

As far as I know, the only Matrix comics that are available to the public, but are not on the website, are the three that are exclusive to the Matrix Comics Vol. 2 book ("Saviors", "I Kant", and "Who Says You Can't Get Good Help These Days?"  ).

Well, there's also the "missing comic", "The Man Who Knew Too Much".  If you want to read the rest, just change "WWW1.jpeg" to "WWW2.jpeg", and so on.

From what I can gather, it was originally a Series One comic on the website.  I used the Internet Archive to check earlier versions of the official site, plus I saw an old Matrix fansite that did a review of the comics back when there was only the first series.  I don't know why it's not available on the site anymore.  I recall someone on The Last Free City's forum saying that he asked Spencer Lamm about via email, and didn't receive an answer. *shrugs*

After that appearance on Syntax where the Accelerated Agents were about, I began to think it wasn't Neo but I am starting to think it is again SMILEY

Also, after watching the Cinematic again, I noticed when 'Mr Wire' gets to the bottom of the monument he holds his hand on his chin and makes it look as if he is thinking, but I think it is a sign that he knows the Agents are comeing as he turns around as they arrive which makes me believe it is Neo more...

I also had the unlikely thought that Morpheus went and found Neo in death O_O

At this time I don't think it is any form of Neo/The One/Thomas Anderson.

Now that I think about it, in one of the Matrix comics, there is a story about a Giant. I loved the story because the Matrix messes up and gets caught in a loop where the subway stops at Euston and half the passengers get off. Then the car shifted and they went through Euston and half the passengers got off.

Then the car shifted and they went through Euston and half the passengers got off.

They mentioned that this guy, The Accelerated Man, was 7-8 ft tall... so hmm. Maybe a tie-in or reference?

I can't believe I forgot about this and now that you mention it the two characters do indeed have a lot in common...

By the way its a great story everyone, if they could, should take some time to read it, written by one of my favorite authors at the moment...
