Whats a 2.0 doing with a 53 decom level? =P
Bear in mind i havnt had a chance to check this stuff out yet.
FYI the 2.0 is minimum level 40 item. You will see this kind of thing with clothing and weapons etc. Lvl 50 enchanced clothing is lvl 55 to code, gives reason to have good decomp points and use Sats + frags. Anyone trying to decomp these, be careful.
still, 14 levels ahead for decom? =P
Thats odd, 1.0 is level 20, 2.0 is level 40 and 3.0 is level 30.
I think 2 and 3 have got mixed up...
Aquatium. wrote:LOL, yeah I was thinkin' this was a glitch, but I guess not. Woulda preffered the Data Sentries though, cant wait to get my hands on the new data tap, as of now I just got a new pair of Torturer's Gloves =/

Ok, so what we have so far is:
--Old--
Basic Data Tap - only needs find data node, decom level 5
Data Tap - only needs find data node, decom level 17
Advanced Data Tap - only needs find data node, decom level 30
--New--
Data Siphon 1.0 - needs siphon data node at 20, decom level 30
Data Siphon 3.0 - needs siphon data node at 30, decom level 40
Data Extractor 2.0 - needs siphon data node at 40, decom level 53
Assuming of course Aqua was on about a siphon.
Also, regarding...
Finally a use for Tool Maker?
All of the new new taps are craftable... and two of them can only be created by a Tool Maker - there is no other way to get them. Characters with Tool Maker at level 50 should check the Tools->Tool category in their Code Analyzer Tool in the level 56-60 range. Any recipes for making luggables will appear here as well once they are learned.
That implies the scrambler and extractor are data taps, but they're only schematics... unless of course you need the frags referenced
Three of these luggables give nice bonuses themselves, but can also be converted into special frags that can be used to craft new items
There to finally make them actual tools. And even then why the 0.4 and 3.0 monikors?
If it isn't, please say.
I have, the above is confirmed by the items sitting in my darn coder library in-game right now. Apart of Aquas '2.0' which i'm presuming is a Siphon too.
If it isn't, please say.
Data Extractor 2.0
The descriptions are a bit confusing too. Stuff about how structurally sound the data is, how fast it's extracted, etc.
Thank you, post updated.
So there must be a Siphon 2 as well *continues huntin*
Though it looks like it should logically go:
Siphon 2.0 - level 25
Extractor 1.0 - level 35
I imagine its the same for the 4.0, which when you look at the code analyzer says 0.4.. TYPO

Once you make the schematic, and compile it, put it in your toolbar. You will then learn the code structure for the Data Extractor 3.0Jeebus, that is complicated

Why on god's earth do that?! It just adds a completely pointless phase to the creation process xDD
Deviljonny: *CENSORED* that
I lol'd.

So i figure great, i can even move it around districts. Then i find other folks can pick it up and steal it. I thought we could decomp it, turns out nope. I thought maybe atleast id have it if i log off, nope. All in all, im gona love farmin the stuff, but my day sucked bad..... so now going to bed at 4am, i have no dish

If you guys can make the dishes able to move between districts, you could always make them single user only. If you farm you, you should atleast own it.
Awesome patch, few things, i farmed for hours today, only thing i got....and as a crafter was really excited about, was a dish that i could use to upload ect. It was awesome.Well, they aren't very hard to get, you can get another in a couple of box spawns.

This is a very worthy "Matrixy" addition that gives people a reason to use the Data Miner tree! A little nugget of faith is returned to me and my dream!
Now if we could just get the Corruptors from the Patcher quest put somewhere out of bluepill range I'd be sick with happiness.
Surprises are nice I suppose but at the same time, if this were announced in some sort of way it would attract alot more interest and activity for existing players and maybe even potential players. Put it on the front page of the site perhaps? Have SOE give MxO a little spot of it's own on their site like so many other games they have that'll lead to the main site page where they'll see that the game is actually getting new content and that it does exist. I would hope that if MxO ever gets something truly big added that it is advertised not only to current players but potential players as well. Any sort of positive advertising for MxO is long overdue, come on SOE, step up to the plate and let's hit a home run!
I like to believe anyone who has anything to do with MMORPG's (customers and DEV's and publisher's etc), know the recipe is more, not less.
Imo this is one of the best things to have ever been added to the game. It's far better than the corruptor quest. I think one of the reasons it has been so successful is it was a complete surprise. I mean we'd heard that you guys were messing with Data Miner, but I wasn't expecting all of this.i think its because you never know what spawn your going to get. And obviously, there must be some loot out there dropped by some of the spawns no one has defeated yet. Someone needs to make a list of spawns, and their corrosponding loot.

Oh ya, Aquatium is making a guide with the drops on the general discussion forums located here.
Just a quick bit of random feedback, the quicksilver glove effect would be better using the old blue fists effect, i don't know, seems to be a better fit considering the red theme of the overdrive stuff in comparison.
still ain't happy ?? xD

Of course i'm happy, the stuffs uber and exciting. I've already voiced that opinion several times. Again, i am happy and glad and thankful and all that other stuff associated with this content.
I mean, jeese, it was just a thought that came to mind. Sorry for voicing said thought on a forum (and thread) provided for that sole reason. ¬.¬

iono bout ambriel but i was just kidding lol
Just i've recieved a lot of critisim in the past for simply voicing my ideas and opinions so i thought i'd just set the mark straight; it's one of the whole reasons i see these boards as existing and the main one i use them for, nothing wrong with that.
Just because i offer feedback, or alternate ideas does not suddenly mean i hate everything that happens to the game nor that i do not apprechiate the effort our devs so obviously put into their work.
Box 1 and 2 NPC sets: Doesn't that undermine the box 1 and 2 quests?
Wasteland Corrupter: Are we to be farming in bathary forever?
Blood Drunks and Lupines: The spawn cycle is too fast, especially for the meager reward.
The Hotfix notes state that an exceptional few spawn sets won't be solo-able, but so far the only ones that are don't reward anything in relation to the new coding recipes.
Please tell me it's not meant to be this way.
Please extend the force-despawn timers by a bit, maybe by another 5-10 minutes or so.
I have to say from what i've been hearing the spawns do sound somewhat harsh, specially the corruptors xDD
Overall, as the notes suggest, the spawns should be soloable/small teamable. Not 2 teams worth of people =P
Put into prespective however you need to realize the content spans several levels and for the most part lvl 50 are probably data mining in the higher level areas there by attracting only the higher level enemies which are notably tougher.
So in effect what lvl 50s are experience is only a small % of the overall content and that content is of the Hardest variety.
The higher level content after all isnt supposed to be easy.
I will have Dracomet look at the despawn timers however as that is a good point.
Ah, now ya see that was never explained, so level of player and area has a part to play in the spawns?
Still, surely the design philosophy as made apparent by the notes should expand to all levels (ok making 50 a bit harder cos its max but surely not corruptor hard =P)
Thanks for the reply though fu
Overall, I have to say the Risk vs. Reward factor is pretty spot-on. The rewards are exceptionally good, and offers a pretty decent return without too much of a time investment. The most perfect example of this is the N3O AG3NT spawns for the Quicksilver Gloves. A group of 4 can easily take this on and reap the rewards - there's enough frags earned from that encounter to make enough gloves for everyone in the group.
However, this does fall apart with the more difficult encounters. Namely, the Tengu + Gargoyle spawn. While the reward is very nice, you do still receive only enough frags to make 4 bandanas, which is a bit of a disappointment considering it takes between 8-12 people to clear this encounter without reaching the time limit. While I certainly understand the reward shouldn't always be a 1:1 ratio, I do think the encounters that require more than one mission team worth of people should provide at least one more frag to compensate for their time and effort.

It's not too hard, just got to set yourself up right.
The random exile spawns and gang spawns shouldn't be a problem for either MA's or hackers. The data senties are a bit of a pain, true, yet I've farmed a fair number of 5 wave spawns now myself.
You need to go for quick kills, don't mess around for special state moves. If you don't get them at the start of interlock then use lots of moves, as hard as you can and move onto the next npc.
This might be just me but I've been having no problem with doing this with Kung fu GM and data miner. You should have enough space for a move in karate and a passive aikido buff too if you're level 50.
I thought you were. No worries.Yeah, I was just kidding. I've seen you do your part for the game, and I appreciate it.

Would that be any different than PBs for downtown events though?
Its ok, Rarebit used a Admin /kill command when a 255 Agent spawned next to him at a Merv event once, no reason why he cant just do the same. He may also have a command to kill all the Data Nodes in the area or more likely, leave them as the only thing that would cause a problem at a crowded LE is a Corruptor, which will probably suffer the /kill treatment, not to mention free loot for a lucky person nearby
