Some of the things that happen just seem so weird.  Like the /afk flag that never seems to have worked.  Like the anomalous results from the ingame item emailing.  It might be worth having a few people try these things out in advance.  Maybe an invite-only QA test group which would have controlled access to a QA server.  I don't mean a forum; I mean a QA server so these things could be caught ahead of time.
Full disclosure: I'm not interested in this for myself; there are lots of better-qualified people like delstardotstar who could do this extremely well, who have the passion and the insight to make this work.

Apparently, according to some devs, the hardware for internal QA and Live is different. For what reason, I don't know.

Budget reasons Im sure ... I mean u dont need that good of a hardware for a couple QA testers

OMG Quote tree?

Actually I think some of the problems may be related to the testers using admin-clients since they have to put in special commands and stuff. That's probably some of it, and the fact that the internal test server is using different configs or whatever than the live one.

Wow, cool. Interested to see how that will come into play...

I really hope that doesnt mean after killing someone they can run outside the zone.

read the notes.. says that if you leave the zone, it takes the normal amt of time for your flag to expire

So when's this hotfix coming, tomorrow?
#34800001371 07/17/2006 14:33:00 Re: Update 45 Discussion Thread
The greatest patch for me, even though some bugs. I love the Mission Archives. Now I can play all critical missions I missed, including special ones. I have been waited to do these missions for long time, since I missed them last year. It motivates me a lot because I am an avix fan of the Matrix and want to experience full of the storyline.

Special thanks!

Great patch minus the email bug and the archive bug that came with it. I was doing the Merv archive missions yesterday series 1.2. Made it up to 6 when the ticket dissappeared (and I had inventory space). Tried again and this time made it to 11 when the ticket dissappeared again! Then tried same set of missions for Machines and made it to 5 when exact same thing happened. I have an alt char and I really depend upon the email system. So with that said, as much as I love the new patch they REALLY need to fix these bugs and quick.

this reply should be appended to update 45, hotfix discussion thread.. when it gets created.

hotfix which came out within the last hour seems to have walk speed increased. I don't like it one bit. I don't want to be walking fast, it stresses me out! SMILEY

Woah great work with the hotfix guys! I had 120 Machine rep, did an assassination for Gray, and now have 117!

This isn't the worst patch/hotfix ever...but I'm really disappointed.

When I read that I could e-mail items to myself I thought that was awesome.  I guess I misunderstood because I thought that that would apply to all RSIs on my account, and not just the one doing the emailing.  I think that that is an entirely worthless addition.  There's no point in e-mailing non-tradeable items to myself, except maybe for storage, but that can only last for so long.

Either increase the inventory space, or allow us to e-mail non-tradeable items to RSI's on our accounts.  I honestly wouldn't know how difficult that could be, but I don't think it would be impossible.  The central database obviously knows which RSIs are on our accounts and which ones aren't...so...yeah.  I just kind of think that that's pointless fluff, when there's stacking needs to be fixed and other such combat exploits (some dude hit me with overhand smash yesterday for 800 damage!).

Some of the bug fixes are nice though.

Oh God archive missions.  I've been working on those for about a week now.  To the dev team...come on.  Being able to relive those old missions (around 72) is great and all...but couldn't you have fixed the buggy ones?  Not to mention that the rewards for all that hard work...are purely vanity.  I can't wear a Red Eye Beret or System Shades in PvP.  I'd get slaughtered.  Come on guys it's bad enough that I have to wade through 80+ hours of missions to get all these neat things, can't you at least buff the hell out of the rewards?  Meh, I suppose not though...the only buffed special items you guys have been giving us have only boosted IS regen 10%...like you've run out of ideas or something.

Meh it's just a gripe.  Decent patch/hotfix all in all.
#36300004428 07/22/2006 08:31:53 Re:Update 45 Discussion Thread

I do think its a good idea to make the auto stacking limit on the codebits some higher, if possible.
cuz i have several trees in my inventory (already deleted the ones i didnt use for space (love the ability buy backtime..thnx for that)) cuz i can upload enuf code bits. although i get PLENTY....but got so little space left after rare mission items and all.

so maybe increase the code bits stacking to like 50 or so?
that would be cool

#36300004635 07/22/2006 13:21:54 Re:Update 45 Discussion Thread
Well, aside from the fact that stacking bits seems to be broken for Code Storage... again... that would be swell.

I'm missing 4 trees from the set, have a few code bits, no event items or anything, and my storage is full.

In some kind of way we need to keep this topic active and keep this problem in the light.
That we can make SOE see that we need a bigger loading storage.
maybe make a new topic about it SMILEY
