Awesome patch Walrus, great work from the team, lots of fixes and some great things from the email copy/paste to the Evade, emailing non-tradable to yourself and mission archives!
/twothumbsup

Actually, we investigated the problem for a long time and all we could find were single fixes for single situations--not a fix for the entire problem. After reviewing things, we came to the conclusion that Evade caused more problems than it solved. So, we pulled it off all gang NPCs, period.

Nice!!! And yes, very good work :smileywink:

Great Update. Can't wait to jack in later this evening. Looks like I will have plenty to level me up now.
SEETHER
Seems to be lots of good things in the patch, but a pretty serious
bug was also introduced that has a great effect on Coders.
You can't send any already coded items thru email. The message
"Mail not sent: You can't send singletons as mail attachments" comes
up when you try and send something like already compiled
pants that are tradable. 90% of the time coders send a
compiled item because the person that they are send to can't code.
This will effect more than coders because it means a male or female
RSI can't send clothing that is not for their gender to a friend of
the opposite gender.

I noticed two things.
1. The new crit mish, "Deviation" did not show up at all until I had tried and aborted a standard mission, even though I tried looking for it in all four districts. This was unexpected.
2. I was able to mail a singleton item (a scalpel) to myself (yay!). But I could not mail a couple of code bit-7s. I could not send them to Delstardotstar. In fact, it seems that everything I could email before, I cannot email now, and everything I could not email before, I can now. This is, putting it charitably, non-intuitive. I must say, I am surprised this did not come up during internal QA testing.
Other than that, much to be interested in!
Any word on the status of quashing the DE Bug?
I think we might need some new QA testers...these ones always seem to miss stuff like this all the time...but since I love this game so much and I pay 15 bucks a month I know they will release a hotfix very soon....*crosses fingers and hopes he's right*
but hey! its a great patch! Archives ftw

Evade is Dead. Long Live Evade!
Gang NPCs will no longer go into the Evade state. They will still retreat in certain situations, to prevent players from dragging high-level NPCs into low-level areas.
Can it be true? This is awesome, you guys finnaly found this nasty, NASTY, ANNOYING, bug? Man it must have been hard to get fixed considering it has been in the game forever. You guys rock, first fixing the sound loop and then this, it's awesome!!!
Not exactly.... They just removed the ability to evade - which is way different to fixing how it worked (or didn't)
But good news all the same

Sounds interesting, but I'm not quite sure what it means.
Dang,, now I have to wait to do the Zion/Merv ones...
One problem i already noticed is you can't send items through the email system at least in loading area.
I have made several attempts with different items and i end up crashing the game. i don't think this is limited to my system as it was working just fine last night prior to the patch.
I have already filled a bug report in hopes that this gets taken care off
Removing the evade state from NPC was win win... Bet you have more bandwidth and CPU now =p
At this time, you can actually upload some pandora items to yourself.
But thank you developers
I've waited for 30+ levels and god knows how many months to have my revenge.

BAM!
- Emailing items is **bleep** impossible now. I thought it was only documents relating to archived missions (which caused me to crash
- Certain mission chapters are not playable. I can't play Zion 1.2. because of a "mission error."

When that happens to me. All I do is leave my mission team, go back into my inventory and use the item again. Works everytime when I try it.
Overall this is an awesome patch. However, I'd like to add that after completing Zion Archive Mission 1.2, which spans around 20 missions (I stopped looking at the **bleep** thing at 18, which was one of the last ones) I was not given my 1.2 completion token, and was told by Customer Service that they would not be able to give me one, and so I would have to do it all over again (not like I really expected them to give me the token, but it would've been nice).
Otherwise, everything's been dandy for me.

Current problems:
- Emailing items is
**bleep** impossible now. I thought it was only documents relating to
archived missions (which caused me to crash)
- Certain mission chapters are not playable. I can't play Zion 1.2. because of a "mission error" which I didn't find out until Walrus posted about the "Mission limit" thing.
- Levels of enemies are sporadic despite the mission settings given in a mission window. Exile and Redpill enemies are 51 while the Imposter Agents are 49 and 50
When I was on Vector last night running the Machine archive missions over in shinjuku and came across a strange bug that basically put the NPC that was supposed to be following me in perma-attack mode. I couldn't get it to stop attacking every NPC that we came across, and being as they were at least 2 levels above the highest-level player on our team, it made it nearly impossible to complete.
The second problem is of course not getting the token after the zion 1.2 missions, which happened the same way on syntax last night.
Also, Another bug that I saw is that mission-specific items such as notes from morpheus, call logs, etc, when loot was set on random, was TRULY random. if you were the one to loot the guy with the notes, you would no longer be guaranteed to get the item in question. I'm not sure if this by design, but it's really annoying.
The no longer evading bug is a pain in the **bleep** too, especially if you're running a low-level RSI in an area with higher-level characters.
I bet the stat hack ticket mission is nearly impossible now.
One question for the devs, for how long the mission that rewards with the item to reset the attributes will stay on ?

Use a sim and no worries gov!
Also you can tell an npc to stop following you to prevent it from getting ganked.
As I understand it, the stat hack mission is a permanet addition.

Nice one, many thanks. I remain waiting for the DE bug patch and a few more IS cost changes (e.g. Canny Strike) and offset abilities to be revised hopefully soon.

Trust me, we tried that. The npc wouldn't stop attacking regardless of what we told it to do.
As for the Sim thing, that's silly. why would I want to buy and build a whole new tree, which would cost me many millions of $info just to run the stat hack mish?
"The advanced graphic parameter "WR_PrefabLODEnable" can be disabled by setting it to zero in useropts.cfg. This will cause the game to render buildings at full model detail, regardless of distance. Setting this parameter to zero may degrade game performance, and is not supported by Technical Support.(In other words: You break it, you bought it.) "
Since im not exactly the technical guru on everything within the game could someone elaborate on this a little more for me? Since in the root folder of my MXO files i seem to lack said 'useropts.cfg' but it does exist within my MXO Text World folder, etc etc.
Shouldn't we have an extra step of contacting our respective controllers before we start our mission? Here's an example:
- Zion player X buys Chapter 1.2 ticket.
- Zion player activates ticket, but doesn't activate the mission.
- Zion player calls Tyndall and adjusts the difficulty on the mission, and starts the mission from that point on.
Doubt it. Dracomet has been out and he's the dude that puts patches together. I bet maybe a Thursday hotfix.

Weapon Auto-Equipping Bug: Fixed
Your weapon will now automatically be equipped when used on the Free-Attack button. This also fixes the "rapid-fire" exploit.
Well, actually, i don't know what a "rapid-fire" is..
If this is something like firing with almost 1 sec. periods in free-attack mode, i surely can say this "exploit"(i also don't know what it is but it is bad, i know
still exists. I don't know how to do it but i can kill ppl just in a 15 secs or near to that. My opponents can not touch me while i am in that mode. Until i read the Update Notes, i thought that that was a feature of my rifle.. My lvl is 25..

Apparently, according to some devs, the hardware for internal QA and Live is different. For what reason, I don't know.

Like the /afk flag that never seems to have worked. Like the anomalous results from the ingame item emailing. It might be worth having a few people try these things out in advance. Maybe an invite-only QA test group which would have controlled access to a QA server. I don't mean a forum; I mean a QA server so these things could be caught ahead of time.Full disclosure: I'm not interested in this for myself; there are lots of better-qualified people like delstardotstar who could do this extremely well, who have the passion and the insight to make this work.
