I think most people will agree the most popular is Mara but what about the most unpopular?
I have always thought it should be one of the industrial neighbourhoods because missions are so rarely set there and they are dull. I think there is one in each district so they are:
Uriah in Richland
Southard in Westview
Ikebukuro in International
Edgewater in Downtown
It shouldn't be Uriah as thats the new place where beginners start. Pandoras box missions can be set in Edgewater so not that and I don't think Ikebukuro either as it is near Sai Kung (Probably the most popular neighbourhood in International) and I have seen people there. So I think it should be Southard because its nothing special and I have never seen anyone in it.

You forgot Lemone in Richland and Bathory Row in Westview SMILEY

I can't quite agree with you about Southard, it has an absolutely unique look and structure and really looks most "industrial" and least like a "warehouse neighborhood". Think of all the energy pipes on the ground...

OK, back to your topic, I have no idea lol.

The Uriah secondary hardline (the one near Mercury) is about to steal some popularity from Mara central, as about the others, I really don't know.

I've already seen people in Bathory Row, and got killed SMILEY

Oh yes forgot about them. Bathary Row is quite unpopular, I remember going there to be safe because I always knew there would be no one there but someone did come through a hardline once. I suppose it should be Lemone as I have never seen anyone there and its a pretty pointless neighbourhood.

Well, I can't contradict what you said about populary since you seem to have done some researches about this (all I know is that I already saw players in Lemone more than once), but I can't agree the industrial neighborhoods are "dull" or "pointless".

Except the fact that some critical missions take you there and the three-dimensional mission areas there are quite intriguing, each of them adds variety to the city. I think without them the world would be much more monotonous. But now I get off-topic again...

sorry

The least populated neighborhood seems to be Roger's Way when I play - apart from the abandoned subway, I rarely run into people there.
#11700000280 01/30/2006 09:55:25 Re: The most unpopular neighbourhood
i think it works differently in vector becuase some ppl tend to try to seek out the unpopular neighborhoods to hide from gankers, and gankers in turn try to seek out these unpopular neighborhoods to find ppl to gank :robotvery-happy:

i personally love the industrial/wharf neighborhoods, i think they provide an important contrast to the residential/business type of neighborhoods and i love the feel.
#11700000281 01/30/2006 10:50:46 Re: The most unpopular neighbourhood
i reckon the least popular is Downtown Pillsenn
most people dunt even kno where it is, so it must be :p
#11700000286 02/01/2006 15:33:33 Re: The most unpopular neighbourhood
On syntax i would have to say tabor, its laggy, and missions are *in* the same two buildings over and over, when you do get a diffrent building it is the same floor plan as the rest of em....and all missions somehow wind up in tabor. Even if u start in eshean.

Up until the other day when I checked because I saw it on an Access Node list, I didn't even know Lemone existed. I'm level 40 too :smileysurprised:
#11700000288 02/02/2006 05:16:59 Re: The most unpopular neighbourhood
I have gone through every district in West view and Richland on the syntax and Vector instances. The only areas that have an ounce of life is Tabor and Mara, Sai Kung, Appolyn, and south stamos.  Every time I am out of these areas there is little life. aside from the stray guy doing missions.  Uriah has the most low level people and recruiters.  Id say the worst district is international since its more pretty on the eyes than good on the population.

It's somehow hard to overlook... lol

I suppose you haven't tagged its hardline then. It isn't a very noticeable neighbourhood and not one I find myself wondering into. I think the only way you will find yourself in it is if you start a mission near it that requires you to go in a warehouse, which is unlikely. The only other reason someone could be in there is for the collector but I don't know if they have something good.

Why all that mission and collector stuff, if you can simply simply walk there? No matter what others think, Lemone is quite impressive and one of the better neighborhoods in Richland (if there are any better/worse).

As far as I know, standart missions don't send you into warehouses anyway.

#11700000292 02/02/2006 16:48:07 Re: The most unpopular neighbourhood
Before the major change in neighborhood gang levels I leveled my characters at the Lemone hardline early on.
#11700000293 02/02/2006 22:58:28 Re: The most unpopular neighbourhood
Although the area is extremely nice, I remember hating missions in Dana Heights because the NPCs would never follow you up or down steps...

Currently I think Lemone might be the least popular. Bathory has a Cryptos Box and Ikebukuro has a Node so I see people there quite often. Also the key that drops in Lemone can be found at another district so theres a another reason to not go there. =(

Actually most of you are not talking about the most or least popular neighborhood.

You are actually talking about least or most populated.

To me Mara is the least popluar, too many people, lag issues, fights around the
hardline, too many spammers etc.

But it looks good. I personally don't care much about spammers and the lag only occurs when I really get to see all those players, not if I'm just close to the area.

I love Lemone.  Like it's description in the atlas, it's a good place for private meetings and deals.  I tend to go there alot when I don't want to be overheard.
#11700000300 02/05/2006 20:02:08 Re: The most unpopular neighbourhood
I was talking about International being the most unpopulated area but a place that is like a beautiful painting that cost 5 cents and is found at a truck stop gift shop.  I go to International for Access Nodes and Operative Objects.  I go to Stamos alot because it is a perfect Place for trade but no one else goes there.  I stay very close to tabor park west since alot of my friends stay there.

*taps earpiece*  Affirmative.  We will station more spies in Lemone, sir.

I can't believe no one's sticking up for Southard! Southard rocks! No one is hardly ever there, there's some really inexperienced (for their level) NPC's, and a wicked Collector, who gives you the lowest-level-required Sniper Rifle I've ever seen! Level 12-14! (I don't remember, it's at most 14)

Southard ftw! It's not unpopular, just not visited often, it's quite out of the way. There's a nice bar there, too.

My secret coding place is in Ikebukuro.. usually pretty empty SMILEY
#11700000362 03/26/2006 06:44:35 Re: The most unpopular neighbourhood
Hmm...I'm not really too keen on Westview as a whole, maybe because most things are broken or on fire. Creepy place... Richland is a good all-rounder and Tabor rocks, and International is also very good indeed.

I like to visit downtown a bit more often though, cos at the moment, I just get slaughtered by agents and gangs.
#11700000363 03/26/2006 08:50:51 Re: The most unpopular neighbourhood

Creepy is good :smileyvery-happy:

I just love Westview for its creepy and gothic atmosphere, and the music is very mesmerizing. Just had to say it...

#11700000379 04/04/2006 13:16:33 Re: The most unpopular neighbourhood
gracy, i never liked that place
#11700000380 04/04/2006 13:58:38 Re: The most unpopular neighbourhood

Lol, isn't Gracy just a less "majestic" version of Stamos/Manssen? Without the bride streets?

Don't know, it's a "common representative" of the Barrens district without all those extraordinaries like in in Guiness Lake or Rogers Way, and as such I've always loved Gracy Heights.
