Hmm, I remember hearing something that Trinities remains were recycled. But it probly wasn't official from the plot writers. Reguardless, when she died, wasn't there a cable through her stomach right about where her uteris is? Anyone have a picture? I haven't watched Revolutions in a couple weeks -_-
If she was pregnant though, I don't think the machines would have tried to save it. Especially since it would have just been conceived and be no larger then 20 cells. Other then that, yes, I do think it could have been saved.
Judging by the facts given in the movies, I can say it would be possible for her to be pregnant. However... the amount of real-time that passed between Neo/Trinity and her death was too short to be really meaningful.
If the Machines had retrieved her fetus, they would have done so almost immediately after her death. Given the tactics Sentinels used during Reloaded to take out hovercraft, it seems they really weren't too concerned about new human life, no matter how far along it was.
My verdict: It's a maybe. A big one.

You're right. It's not. According to the Assassin Memoirs Trinity's body was never recycled as already mentioned and the Assassin would know since he was the guy recycling people. In fact, that's the reason he ended up in the matrix. He was left out of the loop on what the Machine was doing with Trinity's body and saw his own deletion forthcoming. Usurpation of primary functions leads to deletion. Or something like that. I'd have to dig it out of my archives.
As for the metal through her, people have had a chunk of rebar pass right through thier brain and lodge there yet they are fine. Well ... except for a spear of metal through thier head ...
Stranger things have happened in real life...

((I think the metal was higher up than where her uterus would be. More around the area of the stomach and intenstines. Nearer to the breastbone than the pelvic area. I'd have to check to make sure though.))

Keep in mind that humans have those plugs since "birth". It would be much easier to implant them in a fetus than in an adult.

Now that raises an interesting question....what would the spawn of The One and The Three ( fah, Trinity, you get it) be like? Would we call him/her/them the Four or the Two? Ow, mah brain hurts.
I sense an EPN event...

You are.
Then again, I'm not the one with the medical degree.
Then again again, neither is Chadwick, so we can't really know what to expect. :robotindifferent:

I doubt though that the baby would have been far enough along in development to survive outside the womb long enough to be placed in an artificial womb.

You know...psychtictry....the one where you're psychic...
......you know?

Could

What does any of that have to do with whether or not Trin was pregnant?

recycled. Any potential offspring would have been free-born and have no

connection to the program host. The human body is a mere vessel.

How about what does it matter if trinity was impregnated or not?
Human Trin+ Human Anderson = freeborn fetus.
So the machines went out of the way to save a human fetus, adding again a fetus that would be nothing special, because why? Illogical. Any theories that suggest a fetus was searched for and saved by the machines should be re-evaluated & withdrawn.

Like to point out the DNA thing in regards to a new One and the fact that Neo could jack into the Matrix without a plug (Trainman scenes).
:p
Man, this thread exploded for the few moments I was gone. Did I really create that much of a stir?

Maybe, if there was a fetus, they did it due to emotion. Neo was as important to them as he was to us. He must be the greatest man the Machines have ever seen. Nothing will ever change the fact that we gave them life. Why else would they keep us alive for so long avoiding war?
:smileyindifferent:
Keep the Truce, why not? The Machine as a society did not initiate hostilities before.

Reconsider how you justify these "powers" outside of The Matrix.
Machine City Broadcasts can not be transferred via DNA :robotsurprised:
