I just finished downloading all 20 cinematics so I can now watch them whenever I choose without having to wait ages for them to load in the ingame browser with the stupid background music playing!!
Thanks to all those who put this thread together.

The Sentinels flying similarly to falling code at the very beginning told me that this was going to be a good cinematic, and it delivered all the way through.
But, who was that in the Real watching everything unfold...? A human in the real? With mechanical bugs roaming about paying him no mind? Looks like there were some miniature machines laying about too.

I've been trying to capture pictures from the movies for my own use, but I can't figure out how! Print Screen especially doesn't work. Any tips?

If your running it in WMP go to Tools>Options>Performance>Advanced and untick any 'use overlays'.

Excellent resource, and very quickly updated with the 8.1 animation.
Much appreciated, especially since the PC I'm on here goes mental if you try to run the animations from the in-game menu.

I don't know if it was lag but when I played the cinematic in-game the loading area music stopped so I could actually listen to the cinematic properly. If it was something they fixed that's another thing missed on the patch notes.

I miss the good old days before the cinematics were replaced by black/white comics. What was the reason for the switch?
Movie funds go bye bye.
I remember it being discussed a while back...the in-game rendered cinematics were very time consuming and difficult to put together. While they came off wicked cool, with the staff being trimmed back in the SOE takeover I'm guessing there wasn't enough resources on the team to continue putting them out that way.
I guess I don't mind the new ones...I think some of the art could be a little better though. Hey wouldn't it be cool if SOE could get Geof Darrow to drop by as a guest artist and do one of the upcoming cinematics? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Geof_Darrow

Where do you see the preview?
In your MxO folder, eg. C:\Program Files\Monolith Productions\The Matrix Online\resource\cinematics
Used it in the header image for download on the first page also.

Okay now that cinematic was definitely interesting...the shadowed figure, and it looks like he is watching footage of Neo...wonder what the story on that guy is

I really hate being teased about this same guy in the real for so many months. I want to know!

Sounded like the true Merv as well to me... would be nice to have them do some voice work for the game, outside of cinematics... whoever they are.
#3630033729110/14/2007 11:59:58Re:Cinematic Downloads - Inbrowser or Save to HD
I don't think any of the VO's currently are from the original actors. Before the game was released, Monolith hired most of them for their early cinematics and some speech in-game, most notably Laurence Fishburne and Mary Alice, among others.
This is also why Monolith was in such a hole financially at the start because it took big bucks to get these people in their recording studios and VO new lines.
There is no way Monolith had original VO's this far into the game, so they are just really well done by another.
#3630033751310/14/2007 21:06:30Re:Cinematic Downloads - Inbrowser or Save to HD
Well - at least I can actually watch them this way. I can't get them to play ingame.
Hmmm - Animation has improved and unique noir style has improved considerably. Now it seems to syncronize with itself instead of looking 1/2 assed and cheaply done with cheap Flash tricks.
I am now impressed. And give this direction a thumbs up. And I am a very hard animation critic to please. I would still like to see ingame cinematics. It can be done you know - but with these improvements, at least it is getting better.
So - when can we start seeing more blood in the game? Hmmmmm?
