I was hoping they would have done what when they converted the data over from the old boards, but no dice, I guess. Doesn't seem likely to me that they're going to do it at this point.

Is there anything special being planned in game for the 1 year SOE transition anniversary?

How often do you get to speak with Paul Chadwick? Being the main person playing the characters you must get a lot of input from him on it.

Paul works from home and pops up in the office at unpredictable moments, so how often I see him varies a lot. I haven't seen him since before Fan Faire.

How are you pulling off multiple Live Event character appearances now, Rarebit? Do you finally have two computers to work from? Or are you seriously that slick with just one computer and multi-clienting?

It's two computers. I tried doing two clients on one system a while back, but I don't have a split-screen setup, and task-switching back and forth between them in a fight proved to be unstable.

If you would have to choose between adding an additional content developper in the team or one LET-style member, what would you pick?

That's a toughie. I'm not really sure. I suppose a live-event GM would probably be cheaper. =/

I don't know. I'm not usually kept informed about subscription numbers, and I suppose even if I was, I couldn't talk about them. =x

Mission Archives are good, don't get me wrong...
...but there's also history in the Events themselves.
Any plans to alter past directly-storyline-affecting Events into Missions or Archive Constructs for further refreshing purposes?

Who is the QA Team exactly?
#3630002152308/10/2006 19:48:41Re:Ask the devs an MXO question
I asked 9mmfu earlier... what are the programs that you use or the industry uses to make games like MXO... any courses are certifications you know or think would help get a job like yours? anything that the company doesn't ask for but you should know?
I just got accepted for college game design courses. So i'm looking to learn as much as possible. On my own time and at school. Thx.

Ah that explains it. So, I went to my profile and removed my avatar, so that I could link it instead, but now I have NO avatar options at all...
I think I just owned myself...
I just un-grandfathered myself out of having an avatar, didn't I?

Microsoft Visual Studio (C++ code), Photoshop (2D art), Maya (3D art), and Perforce (source control) are the main 3rd-party apps we used on MXO, I guess. Microsoft Office gets used for just about everything on the management side. It mostly depends on what specific area you're looking to go into.

No, it means they have a team of people who test stuff...directed by NoRepro. You really think that they dont test the builds before they go live? NoRepro has plenty of stuff to test on their QA server.
And Rarebit and I are talking about the internal test server, not the live one.

I got this question on a test....wanna help me out?
"In a game involving 1000 vehicles moving around in a large (10km square) open arena, each vehicle can shoot guided rockets at other vehicles to destroy them. Only one rocket per vehicle can be in the air at any given time. Outline the technical design for a system that can detect collisions between all of the vehicles and rockets as efficiently as possible."

And its its not hard is that somthing we can look forward to in the future? Actual black fedoras, and other colors of other clothings?

It's not incredibly simple, and there are a limited number of variants we can have in the game. It will happen, but probably more on specific, special boss loot items.

How is XP awarded in missions determined? The general unverified opinion is there is an equal amount of XP to be earned in each stage and a minimum amount of time is requried to get full xp. Can you expound upon this?
