Eh, you should probably just post ideas in the Missions and Storyline forum, we read that one. (And then I can disavow having read it if the law comes for me later!)

Hehe I'll remember that, and post a link to it there. But I'm sure players won't read it... it's only about a third done and already looking like a novel!

That's a little hard to say, as my "game designer" title is pretty generic. I had a liberal arts education, which helped with communication and writing skills, which are really important to this job. what about if you chose. not to take the B.A's at uni. i was accepted. but last min changes i did not wish to go. im still happy with my HND. im hopeing my portfolio and knowledge of the games industry will get me a valid job somewhere.


im also interested in QA. but i know u must the litterte in english, (as you can see i cant spell to save my life) but i know my stuff. and my programs. (and a little bit of the computer side too)


so what process or line of work. should a person take to become in a situation that you are in. im very curious...

im a blue pill from when MxO was first created and a Beta tester before that. i loved the game but was 'unpluged' due to unforseen circumstances (relationship!) im looking to re connect real soon but it looks like alot has changed and i havnt been able to follow the storyline or keep up with all the new features. is there any place that i could go so i can do a complete catchup before my return?

Ever since about one month after the release of the game I was hearing rumors about swords being implimented into the game and that eventually new area's will be released possibly in an expansion...


Now my question is have the Dev's even thought about these idea's or are currently discussing or developing such things? SMILEY

I hope this does not count as future development or future content because i am really curious.


Back in the day we had full hyper speed and hyper jump. The jump distance was shortened and I believe the height of the jump was left the same. But either way the cap is fairly low for the ability.  Hyper speed was amazing early on, I remember running around 250% of normal speed with the right load out and equipment.


I know for hyperspeed the reason for the nerf was the servers could not handle the speed of everyone running at 250% speed. i am not sure if the jump nerf was for similar reasons but it seems reasonable to me that it could have been. (Someone correct me on the reasons for a jump nerf if they know)


Now to the question. Can the servers with SOE handle the old speed and jump caps as they were with launch? Nothing made this game feel like the matrix more than running full friggin speed and then hyper jumping blocks.

The Chateau should be a new Exile Hideout or Construct and to get there you will have to make the Highway meaning the introduction of vehicles.:smileyhappy:

For starters I would probably just boost the amount of $i it rewarded. Like, x2 or something, but I'd have to do some playing with the numbers to get an exact figure.

   One question that's been on a lot of players' minds for a long time now is this: where do the Machine and Merovingian redpills go when they're not jacked in and not on their hovercrafts?  It's doubtful that they're all living in Zion.  Many of us have assumed that they have bases somewhere in the real world.


   I wouldn't be surprised if this was more of a question for Paul Chadwick. ^^;;

We asked Paul about that a while back, and he hadn't fleshed that aspect of the story out yet, but he definitely agreed that they wouldn't be in Zion. It isn't clear if they have large, established bases on the scale of Zion, of if they're scattered around in smaller waystations.

I think I sorta answered that before, but so far probably the Oracle, since she can really mess with people's heads, and then make up for it by giving them a cookie. The Merovingian is fun for parties and practicing bad French (not that his is bad, but mine is) and pick-up lines.

Hm, then again, just killing people as the Assassin was pretty fun, too. SMILEY

Sweet. That's what many of us roleplayers established in our stories ages ago.



I recall reading the Masked Men story intro on DN1 when it aired and
thought how awesome it was that it was mentioned that a Machinist
captain had a mechanical eye gifted to him by the Machines for his
outstanding service. How cool would it be to have eyepatches in the

I don't know; that would be a question for the bean-counters. I believe that SOE is adding this in-game ad system to most of their MMOs.

That's pretty much a future content question that I can't answer, but they *can* be updated, and we would certainly like to take the time to update that aspect of the game content. Although we would like to figure out a way to do it that will tie them together both with the other neighborhood contacts, and with the story of the Matrix as a whole.

Not really. I only know what Walrus has said on these forums. I seem to recall that it will involve making a copy of your current install of the game. But I'm pretty sure the final details won't be announced until the server is ready to go.
