Looking forward to the stills of the cinematics for 5.1 Can't wait to find out what the flash ones look like. Makes me excited that Walrus is excited about showing them off. Can't be that bad... hopefully.

#10300002119 01/27/2006 19:52:38 Re: The Other Side of the Looking Glass - January 27, 2006
Dude!!! The Gov't lobby is gonna kick butt!!!

It should definitely require a team to go into that place. I mean, Neo is the one, and he had Trinity.. Does that mean we'll need atleast a team for 6?
#10300002120 01/27/2006 19:55:56 Re: The Other Side of the Looking Glass - January 27, 2006
Thanks, It really didn't make sense that after Neo came thru they stopped putting good security in there SMILEY
#10300002121 01/27/2006 20:19:25 Re: The Other Side of the Looking Glass - January 27, 2006
Yea, the new issue of the Sentinel has been done for a while now.. You can't say it hasnt because Paul said so, lol. Im personally waiting for this next one to see whats next. Its so close to the ending of the 4th chapter, and the lack of a sentinel issue isn't helping me gather my thoughts...

**bleep**, I cant wait for the Govt lobby!!!

Doesn't look like the sitting (aka The Suicide Shot) method.

Very Nice "Looking Glass".

Also I like the little set up you did to the kalt buidling.  That should make for some good times.

Looking Ahead
As you all know, Combat Revision 2.0 is our primary focus right now. We're targeting Update 41 for Live release, but that all depends on testing and changes. That's why your input is so vital to this project: The more feedback we get from you, the quicker we get the revision done.

I didnt even pay attention to that!!! Holy crap! Feb 14th! I need to get onto QA and learn the basics of it, then I can start testing. By the time I turn around, Feb 14th will be here!

(Wait, isnt that Valentines Day, I dunno, I get all my holidays mixed up..)
#10300002128 01/27/2006 21:46:57 Re: The Other Side of the Looking Glass - January 27, 2006
Hmmm are they rushing things again?   Anyone having flashbacks?
#10300002129 01/27/2006 21:48:30 Re: The Other Side of the Looking Glass - January 27, 2006
I believe he meant that Update 41 will be released on schedule, assuming nothing goes horrendously sour with CU 2.0 between now and then.
Frankly, it would be a huge mistake to release CU 2.0 in the state it's currently in, much as I believe it's shaping up nicely.

Aye, that line is a bit confusing. Clarification, please?

OOoo cant wait to storm the lobby with a coat full of guns!!!
#10300002133 01/28/2006 01:23:13 Re: The Other Side of the Looking Glass - January 27, 2006

Just wondering, will these guards still be at average level so 50s don't have to fear anything, or will it never be safe there?

Somehow, the quiet, peaceful gov. lobby wasn't that bad...

#10300002134 01/28/2006 01:30:33 Re: The Other Side of the Looking Glass - January 27, 2006
The lobby! Thank you!
#10300002135 01/28/2006 02:20:11 Re: The Other Side of the Looking Glass - January 27, 2006

I could go on about how good this game is becoming

I could go on about how good CR2.0 is becoming

I could go on about the new cinematic and missions

but i hope this sums it up    :smileyhappy:

#10300002136 01/28/2006 03:33:38 Re: The Other Side of the Looking Glass - January 27, 2006
Through out the on going story of this game, somehow you guys never cease to amaze me. This looking glass was not just a discussion on current game details, but introduced us to some very, very cool things coming soon,  rock on walrus and crew....rock on.
#10300002137 01/28/2006 06:27:59 Re: The Other Side of the Looking Glass - January 27, 2006
Great looking glass. The lobby adjustments may be small but they are the kind of things that are brilliant, bringing the matrix to us and letting us re-live moments is great.

Now all we need is a reason to be breaking into the Gvt. Building :smileywink:

And I think CU2.0 isn't too unrealistic to be released the week of Feb 14th if everything goes to plan. I mean it gives them about 2-3 weeks and looking back 3 weeks ago at the QA server, it was a giant mess while now it's looking a lot more shiny. Just need to get the spy tree in and balance things out (assuming that isn't too hard) and possibly fix a few animations and we're done. Either way, I'm sure they won't release against the communitys wishes.

Question though, what level will the guards in the lobby be? I'd like to think they'd be tough.

Yeah, especially how one of the shots has the bullet effect right infront of the camera.

That would be awesome to get a first person mode for screenshots and such.
#10300002139 01/28/2006 08:15:10 Re: The Other Side of the Looking Glass - January 27, 2006
If the lobby's been updated, does anyone know if the roof will have been aswell?

After some persistence (and a lot of luck - I was level 20 at the time), I managed to get in the elevator and get up there.  Was kinda dissappointed that the helipad etc wasn't there.
#10300002140 01/28/2006 08:24:32 Re: The Other Side of the Looking Glass - January 27, 2006
Im actually hoping that the guards ARNT leveled to 50 as then it would mess up an event that im planning some what.

The whole government building except the lobby, including it's roof, its tallness and the exterior textures, seems to be a totally different building than was shown in the movie.

#10300002143 01/28/2006 09:50:41 Re: The Other Side of the Looking Glass - January 27, 2006
Whoa, there is NO way they are ready to release this. Yes it's shaping up and making big improvements but it is WAY to premature to be released in a few weeks. The spy tree hasnt even been released!

MxO has ALWAYS released itself to early, PLEASE don't release this to early or you will see a mass exodus which anyone that loves MxO DOESN'T WANT TO SEE.

Don't do it. Wait til March, the release of CR 2.0 isn't going to keep people from leaving, it'll only cause people to leave if done improperly. If you want to keep peopel from leaving you use the LET.
#10300002144 01/28/2006 09:50:50 Re: The Other Side of the Looking Glass - January 27, 2006
Wow, looks interesting. The government lobby looks great, I want more details now though :p

Thanks for some of the clarifications about the CR2 and nice to see we have some characters posting on the forums!

I hope they are level 65! That'll be awesome.
#10300002146 01/28/2006 10:03:01 Re: The Other Side of the Looking Glass - January 27, 2006

Ok, lobby looks great but...how many ppl will try to rush in there trying to pwn everything insight? I am sure were going to see lots of hardlines going down and possible lag/time outs in that area once word gets out about the lobby.

Does the lobby act like the movies? If your carrying a weapon does the metal detectors go off? If so, does a guard approach you and ask for any metal objects you may be carrying, if you deny a trade with him for your guns does he call in the swat team?

If the swat team does come after you for some obvious reason, will they chase you up the elevator onto the roof, or if you run out of the front doors do they give chase untill you either kill the pursuers or jack into the loading area or exit.

I would rather perfer them to be lvl 60+ and also  I would like one or two neighborhoods in downtown with a bit higher gangs, like 55-60's. Of course thats with the current combat system where you can walk around untouched anywhere you go. But with the new combat system I think the levels they are will suffice.

#10300002147 01/28/2006 10:04:08 Re: The Other Side of the Looking Glass - January 27, 2006
That would suck, because so you'd never be able to go there without immediate death.
#10300002148 01/28/2006 10:44:36 Re: The Other Side of the Looking Glass - January 27, 2006
Very cool update, expecaly the lobby...

However, could someone please explain to me the new Cinimatic Style they are talking about in 5.1?
#10300002149 01/28/2006 10:45:31 Re: The Other Side of the Looking Glass - January 27, 2006
If I remember right CR2 was supposed to go live on Update 40. It wasn't ready so it didn't.

He's right, it's shaping up pretty good on the EP. Feb 14th isn't an unrealistic date for it. If more people got in there and tested it out, it would be ready for sure, but its a dang ghost town over there!

#10300002150 01/28/2006 11:11:44 Re: The Other Side of the Looking Glass - January 27, 2006
Still, I half expected it to be atleast 2-3 months before the CU was ready.
#10300002151 01/28/2006 11:14:08 Re: The Other Side of the Looking Glass - January 27, 2006
I think the CU2 needs a good couple more months of testing before subjecting it to the live game.
Typical fanboi posts in this these types of threads, "wow, golly gee, that's super, I can't wait!!!1111, I luv u"
I never thouight I'd say it but my frustrastion level is getting so high I too may join the chorus if dissaffected players who are considering leaving.   All you people had to do was add more content.  Instead you chose to add a half-assed incomlpete combat revision which spells doom unless you're a button masher or know all the loopholes that enable you to kill 50's with one or two good headshots.

While my frustration level isn't as high as yours you make some very good points. A combat revision isn't what the game needed, however the one they are working on will be better (or so it seems) but content and LET interaction is what the game needed. I think the combat system will work out great...but not this early. There is still way to much testing to do.
#10300002153 01/28/2006 13:10:09 Re: The Other Side of the Looking Glass - January 27, 2006
Just a little something to add to an already excellent "Looking Glass"...

#10300002154 01/28/2006 13:45:00 Re: The Other Side of the Looking Glass - January 27, 2006
What about those missions that you are *required* to go into the Kalt building in Downtown?

....Not the regular contact missions. The onese released late last year...

...Yes, those ones. We woudn't want the lowbies be slaughtered would we?

Agreed. We should protest by summiting every single bug we see. Then they have to postpone it.

Yeah, PB was pretty much my first thought too.

Looks cool, although I don't thinka release date for CU 2.0 of Feb 14th is anywhere near feasible, if that's what you meant.
