Looks cool.
But the fact that a whole bunch of MxO players will be there already gives me a sinking feeling, and the urge to mask my identity completely in that game.

I wish I could sage you to death.
.I understand!! lol there are a few people I would not mind ever seeing again...lol BUT... I had to post this to throw the game out there to the MXO family. BTW they are showing a lot of love to those of us that are signed up to the forums now. we have an MXO topic there now thats pretty busy.

I can't say I'm all that impressed with this game. There seem to be some good ideas there, but nothing really stands out, and all the write-ups about the story content are pretty poorly written (a lot of sentence fragments and "someone said..."). I personally hold no ill will toward SOE, and I'll be checking out The Agency and DC Universe Online because they seem like interesting, action-based, story-driven experiences. Star Trek Online looks cool, as well. I hope Fallen Earth turns out well, though, for all those Matrix Online players who are going to be a part of it, and I may check it out if I hear good things about it after its release. The "Lightbearers" faction did sound kind of interesting.

I've seen people talk about Fallen Earth a lot on these forums, and I can't figure out why, really... it looks like pretty generic post-apocalyptic fare. Did players here just look around for the first upcoming sci-fi MMO that popped up and immediately gravitate to that one?

that's true. Altho Global agenda is much more "MxO-like" as a SPY FI MMO
In what way is it MxO-like? I don't see it.

Spies/Guns/factions/War Swords/Hyperjump/strategy/sniper/player driven/"you make the choice"/etc...
Oh, never mind. Different game. I misunderstood. That one does look pretty cool.

Blobal Agenda ftw.

Still, I'm partial to DC Universe Online and The Agency, as I'll be able to play them on the PS3, they seem to have the richest story content, and they are very action-oriented. Plus, DC Universe Online has characters I already care about, much like Matrix Online.

Global Agenda: NO Elves/Trolls Campaign for the LULZ!!!
Yeah, no. I watched two trailers of "Fallen Earth" and it didn't catch me. Plus I didn't like the graphics at all.
I have to agree, after reading up a few things and looking into it deeper, it doesnt seem all that impressive.
I'd still like to check out the beta, but unless the gameplay is really good, everything else at this time feels inferior to other possible MMO's.
I'm actually Alpha testing Fallen Earth
Global Agenda does look amazing, though. closed beta should be starting in about a month. I'll be on that like flies on Sh**. At the same time Bioware is a solid company (TOR), I've never played a game of theirs that I sould say was "Bad". So it's going to be a tough call. I only have time for one MMO, and I gadda make a choice

Well how is it Bruinz??
Fallen Earth, ehh. I feel I may quite enjoy at least trying it out and as such what appeals to me most is the "Travellers" faction as I feel it would accomodate quite aptly for a Merovingian mind - set which I have become quite accustomed to, here in MxO.
On the other hand, we have the "Light Bearers" faction which look to strike a favourable balance between genuine goodness and the rebuilding of society. However, as we have seen from our forefathers, such terms can easily be weilded as a tool of destruction in the wrong hands.
The third wild card being to try something completely unknown and new such as the Techs which may provide quite an exciting alternative and allow the exploration of a kind of RP and character not able to expressed or engaged quite so sympathetically in the Matrix environment.
I'm on the FE boards too
THE GAME IS DOOMED!
Like I was saying on the FH boards, i'll be interested to try the Beta just to see how it is, but I highly doubt it'd be my new 'home' game. It just doesn't have that 'something' for me!

Fallen Earth is a flaming turd. Controls are crap, aiming/shooting sucks, AI is terrible along with the NPC voice acting. Free Realms has better graphics, and the story doesn't pull you in.
So if you have no eyes, ears, or fingers it's the game for you.

soe ftw?
For the RP folks, there's no way this game can suck.

SOE can bite the big one as far as I'm concerned. Pass.

I admit, that sold a tiny bit of my soul to GA.

LAWL, you obviously haven't played it.
I haven't played, but again I really can't see how this game can be as bad you say.
Prem. have you played beta for FE?
If he has, he shouldn't be talking about it. NDA and all.

Considering it was Warner Brothers Interactive that decided to leave Matrix Online for dead in the first place, I have no ill will toward SOE. All SOE is guilty of is getting a bargain on a game that was already running and already had an installed base. I doubt they ever thought they had the capital to truly revive it to what it was in its first few months, but considering a lot of my favorite experiences in the game occurred during SOE's reign, I'm glad they did take over, because otherwise, this game would have ended years ago. Granted, they didn't keep the game alive out of the goodness of their hearts; they did it to make an extra buck, but the overall effect of this move was rather helpful to the game, because it kept it alive rather than letting it die. Thus, I don't have a particular inclination for or against playing another SOE game based off of my experience with Matrix Online. I gravitate toward the games I've mentioned only because they seem interesting to me.
Also, how does a generic apocoalyptic sci-fi plot make Fallen Earth good for Role Players?

Signs if u have an imagination Im sure u can RP in anygame... MS.Pacman...lol
You can role play with any game. That doesn't mean the game is especially fitted for role playing.
Personally, I don't play video games for the purpose of role playing, specifically. I play video games to experience interactive art. If the interactivity, plot, characters, and visual aspects are compelling enough, you will experience a natural inclination to "play a role". This has been one of my favorite things about Matrix Online. It seems like the same might be true for DC Universe Online, which is the game I am gravitating most toward, now.
Plus, if you enjoyed Matrix Online's format (or at least the format it was intended to have), with one master storyteller directing the flow of major story arcs and massive in-game events that allow players to participate in that story, DC Universe Online is essentially doing the same thing, and might just be a bit more successful at it:

Ive been alpha and beta testing this game. There were too many bugs when I was alpha testing so I had to set it aside until it was playable. I updated the install about 2 months ago and walked around in the barrens. Intro was greatly improved upon since I had played in before. However, I havent played it enough to give it a fair opinion but I would say that at the moment, the graphics arent very good (dont know if they have plans to update them) and the quests you get are pretty boring, tedious, and repetative. If you want, I can get on and post some screenshots. The character customization is pretty decent. Thongs for the ladies is a big improvement over the granny panties here lol

I am currently registered for this game, but wont be able to even try and play it till I get a new computer. I do have alot of friends in Lords of War that are going to play this game when it is ready. I might be getting into Star Trek online if it does go pc AND console. Might get the console version. After August 1st I will be staying away from any online games till I figure out what I want to play when I get a new pc. Will just be going online to check up on DN1. Then going to buy Punch Out and be playing that till I beat it. Hope everyone finds a game they are happy with. Just wont be the same as MxO. A true King among Games.....
