In these final days of Matrix Online and beyond, I'd like to organize an initiative to not only extensively archive the plot of of Matrix Online, which others have worked toward admirably, but to figure out where Matrix Online fits within the larger picture of the Matrix series.  Through a discussion among a group of dedicated fans of the game and the series, my aim is to establish some sort of consensus on what part of Matrix Online is official cannon, what part of it is sort-of-kind-of cannon, and what part of it is not cannon at all, and then to determine how all of it fits in with the series' broader philosophical implications.  The desired end result, in my mind, would be to construct a narrative in words and images that could describe every important event to people have never heard of Matrix Online, people who have heard of it but never played it, or even (one can hope) the Wachowski Brothers, to see if they want to take it anywhere in the distant future.  Now, I'm sure I haven't clocked in nearly as many game hours as most of you, but I've been with this game since the beginning (since before the beginning, really) and I've been grappling with the game's big picture questions for a long, long time.  If anyone else here believes that such an effort would be worthwhile, I look forward to offering my services as a writer, artist, and Matrix enthusiast.

By the way, this would ideally take place in a separate, dedicated forum and accompanying website, but I probably would not be the best person for that task, as anything I could create probably would not look so great, and I'm sure we have some much more tech-savvy people available for that task, if any of them are willing.

Were you wanting to start this discussion here, or where you looking for a group of volunteers, so you can continue this discussion elsewhere?

Guess I posted too quickly, heh.  I have no qualms with having this take place elsewhere, but I think a lot of people would want to be heard on this.

The bulk of this discussion should probably occur elsewhere, as it's the kind of thing that will likely have to go on for some time after these forums close, but I'm up for preliminary discussion here.  I certainly have my own ideas about what is cannon and what is not.
