Indeed, operative.

Yeah, I asked this question in another thread. Basically, as long as your account is still active as of June 1st, you'll be able to play until the very end.

Yes it is indeed sad to hear MxO shutting down. Been here 4 years and it's sad to see it go. The Community here is great also *huggles everyone* and even though hardly anyone knows me that much, I still think the people of this game and the game itself is the best and well worth it.
Might go check out SWTOR myself, LONG LIVE THE REPUBLIC
Great thanks for clearing that up for me <3
Oh god, Another Star Wars game? Talk about beating a dead horse...

True, but at least it isn't owned by SOE, which is always a plus for any Online game.
Come June the 1st when there is a lack of customer support, people will be griefed.

when was the last person to be banned or given a warning by a CSR? They still do that now?
It was a hell of a ride...
But SOE,you suck!

We all suck for having hope of mxo pulling through this terrible ailment called Sony'itis
True I guess..

And yet without them, it would have suffered due to Lithitis. ;D
Still, bungling SOE contributed to the downfall. When they bought the game, it could have been a fresh start not the first nail. Plus WB's obligatory Red-tape around everything is a bit of a stumbling block.
Either way, It's failure at launch was always going to be crippling.

I dont think it was all fail at the start, people were buzzing and for 2 years I had a blast, I'm more than happy with that.
Oh yeah, me too but I mean in terms of projected subscribers and actual subscribers it failed massively.

without soe it wouldn't have lasted this long, but still ....

True, add Star Trek online to that list.

Uh, STO being made by Cryptic as we speak, Wire.
Thank you for a wonderful birthday gift, SOE. Not exactly what I wanted, but it'll do.
See you in the simulation, redpills. Glad to be here, one last time. Wish meh a happy birthday!

Really? I had no idea. Is it being sold somewhere so I can buy it and subscribe? Or is it just being developed still? Does it have a Beta?
That's one game I've been looking forward to for about 2 years now.

KHAAAAANNNNNNN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

STO is still in development. Beta will probably be beginning soon, though, because rumor has it that they are expecting it to launch late this year.
There have been a lot of cool things going on through the forums, though; updates from the writers to let us know what has been going on in the ST universe in the time between Nemesis and the beginning of the game, story contests for lifetime subscriptions, community development ideas, etc.

The 'red-tape' excuse was a lie.

Welcome to the Beginning of the End. Now we know why Rare left when he did...he knew what was coming.

I disagree. I think it was there, but it would not suprise me if SOE did almost nothing to remove said tape.

Huh. I guess I wasn't lying; I will be here until the end. Didn't want to believe it would happen, though, even though it was inevitable, I guess.
Maybe I'll have a watch of the Matrix Movies, and remember what MxO was, what could have been, and what it gave me.
Good times were had. Sad times now.

I'm glad people are remembering the good times. We had a lot. More than a lot of games ever have had.
I've been rewatching the movies, too. Have a feeling I'll be doing that a lot in the months to come.

Aye, captain of the Nagamitsu in the fleet of Children of Zion, guess I'll have to show you just *who* owns the Matrix on it's last day of operation, won't I?

Wouldn't have played the game for so long if I didn't enjoy myself, my tusked friend. I remember fighting you in Centre Park quite vividly, too. You were at Fanfaire at the time, I believe.
And Synapze, I'll be trying to avoid fighting old CoZ members if I can. Wouldn't sit right with me.

Yes, its funny that the Matrix franchise has been alive dynamically for exactly 10 years, 1999-2009. That's a good run.
You know every good franchise comes back eventually to be reintroduced to new generations, etc. I mean look at the Terminator franchise. So dont delete the database and all that, who knows it might come in handy again someday.

Yeah, Star Trek is another one that came back after many years.

I'm so upset. SOE keeps their shi**y games up and shuts down the best they got.
Not playing an SOE game ever again

God rest your soul. You've won that right little guy. You proved to the world that an MMO didn't need end-game raids to be hella fun. You proved that a small community can work out and make lasting friendships. You proved that some of the most arroggant people live off of you!
Okay... you know that's true.
Man, in all seriousness though, I can't believe it's finally ending. MxO has been around since I was 14. I can tell you all right now that I have changed so much since then. I am sad to be one of the last people from Iterator to still be here. I remember people like H4TE, Cap0ne, sgtclunk (burn in hell!). I remember Machine Radio, Radio Free Zion, and Exile Radio. I remember The Machines faction, The Devil's Advocates, Scarlet Prime/Omega, and all the other amazing factions of the day. The friends that I have made in this game will stick with me for a lifetime...
...I'm glad you're all here with me guys... here at the end of all things... *sniff*
Now lets get out there and remember why we loved this game so dearly!
Amen to that, brother...

Paradoxically, the closing of the game is worth re-subbing for.
This could be the most interesting two months in MxO.
Very sad to see that MxO is closing down but I guess with the decline in populance lately it was inevitable. Some fond memories that will be cherished, long live MxO!

No offense but it it safe to say that youre one of the reasons of the lack of support we've been getting from the past two and three years? Seeing that your the Producer and all?
It's just that we've have so many 'why' questions that are still unanswered and you're technically the only person in the game's staff.
This sux, I had a story lined planned out for my faction and more logs to do but that ends today. No more logs or rp from me guys.
Well now I will spend my time figuring out how to keep in touch with everyone. Tell all the new subscribers not to waste their time, and well enjoy what I can of mxo.
I am going to miss everyone and probably will never do another mmo. If you think about it, we put all this time into a character spend all this money for what..? I dunno guess I am a little upset this is happening but kinda knew it would.
Guess now I can start putting money twards a new system.

Agreed, you guys treated this game like sh1t.

No offence to you but someone with half a idea of how the world works will know the answer to all those 'why' questions you are asking.

Or to put in another way, in RL sometimes the good guys don't win.
