Curse you! I wanted to create the first Walrus thread of the day
You could say I've been better. Sorry to be online for a sad reason.

Agency beta keys for compensation?
I'll mention that idea. We're not to beta yet, but at least it has a style MxO players might appreciate.
And guns. Lots of guns.

If any of you care about what has happened to the Matrix Online and want to do something about it... the best thing you can do is shun the Agency, in my opinion. Cause and effect.

walrus is pr guy right? the agency click and casting time? or is it real time? double client friendly? or is it like fps where you kinda wanna put your eggs in one basket?
or is he the production guy?

No it's fine. What has a beginning has an end, and at least we can get some closure now within a reasonable time to wrap things up. I only wish you guys didn't put up a complete wall of silence from February until today, and at least had checked in officially here during this time period to say that the game is in maintainance mode/limbo for the tme being; because not having done so has generated a bad taste in a lot of our mouths, unfortuanately.
Oh well, but whats done is done and at least we can wrap things up now within a reasonable amount of time, like I said. And happy to have some Armageddonny action at the end there...I remember the eye-in-the-sky fun we had at the end of beta. Good times!

The lack of communication is my fault. With nothing in the pipeline for MxO and another game in development, it was hard to find the time. I should have made the time. This community's treated me so well over the years, it's the least I could've done.

It's not my fault! I blame Keith!
Seriously, though, even not being able to spend time with the community or in the game much, it always made me glad that the MxO world still existed out there. It's hard to imagine being without it.
I agree, while I personally wasn't always able to log in and hang out with everyone in the community, it was nice to know it was there and it was still a place to call home. Time to do some club hopping for sure!

Oh god im finding some good stuff
any possibilities of gettin a free access of closed beta to Agency and maybe or if not a free month subsciption? XD
Wow. Haven't heard anyone blame keith01 for anything in awhile...
It's all about the memories.
Speaking of...just because I'm obviously not afraid of embarrassing myself for the community's amusement, here's a shot from PAX '04...of my best side.

Can we give Rarebit a dev trial account for like... 2 months or something? lol

What a great idea. lol
Walrus, bring back the entire dev team for our end-of-game event. You're the only one who could contact them all. . .Rare, Frog, even the guys from 'Lith. Get them to do it pro bono.
C'mon, please? One last Monolith-style LET?

This.
I don't respect you, Walrus, for your decision to break the silence with this kind of news.
I'll find it hard to respect you at all, anymore. And I certainly feel no love for people who continue to coddle to you just because you made a post.
Of course, all will be forgiven upon the deliverance of an Agency beta key to my account.
I can't believe the people in this thread being cheery and sending /huggles. Walrus, you have failed us as a community manager, and it is not okay. All this time that you've had the chance to keep us informed, or at the very least acknowledge that we still exist, and you didn't. I fail to see how anyone could view you as less culpable than anyone else at SOE in ignoring us as a community.

You know Walrus, I can go old school on you. Like, how Darbacour kicked your butt in the GM fights in Beta and thats the real reason. You were ashamed of yourself and ever since then could not come to gripes with talking to the community after that.

Quite. Notice how quickly he's shut back up?

He's apologized, what more do you want? Its foolish to blame him personally, especially since he owned up and took responsibility (even if it really wasn't, he probably was gag ordered by his higher-ups). Focus your justifiable anger on SOE corporate, who have made horrid decisions leading in failure for this game and the ruining of many other titles of theirs.
And stop asking for fool things, thats the surest way to drive him away again. Stop asking for Assassin's Masks and whatnot. By doing so you make those of us who have been asking for simple and realistic things, like that the Holiday masks be unlocked before End of Live, get lumped in with idiotic requests and blown off. In case you weren't paying attention, there will be no more Holiday events, so this is our last shot. Don't screw it up for the rest of us.

When I saw the beta players trashing the game's overlords...I had to wonder if someone was asleep at the wheel. Or just driving while distracted. It was kind of shocking, really. To me, anyway.

1. Warlus, thanks for owning up to your failures, I respect you in that manner. I wish more people in SOE would do that, or at least talk to us.
2. I'm sorry, but after getting treated like the bastard red headed step child, I have no intentions of giving SOE any more of my money. So I will not be playing The Agency, or DC Universe. SOE knows nothing about customer services and they know nothing about investing in a good game, time wise or finanical wise. SOE wants nothing more than money, and they'll try to half *ss as much as they can to get it.
SOE is black balled from any further purchase.

Mind you, there's nothing wrong with being all about making money. Look at Blizzard! But they show that excellence in service and support and communication is an investment that inevitably bears fruit. They clearly have set the bar for best practices which all others would do well to emulate. If only...if only...

I think because Blizzard makes the effort to have a good customer relations and good customer service is why they're so popular.
Not only that, but they actually invest in their game! *gasp*

You know what's funny? People in WoW b*tch and moan about how horrible Blizzard is, and how bad their customer service is... every time I hear it, I think to myself "Good lord, be thankful you've never had to deal with SOE."

Hear hear. I hear the same thing and honestly I just want to punch them in the face. They have the original game, plust 2 expansion pack! They don't get to talk about the "horror" of Blizzard.

I am not Trashing anyone, I merely am trying to convey a nostalgic memory in a whimsical manner to lighten the mood of this thread. I was merely poking fun at Walrus, instead of instulting him like everyone else had, I was giving him an excuss. Notice the Rasberry at the end, meaning in a jokingly manner, to not take what was said seriously. Walrus knows i heart him.
