Steam is reporting that they have teamed up with SOE to offer EverQuest®, EverQuest® II, Vanguard: Saga of Heroes® and Pirates of the Burning Sea™ from Steam.

I think this is a cool little move. Too bad they didn't put MXO in to the mix, oh well. SMILEY

Now, you would think that MxO would benefit from the exposure with new players, but if it isn't even worth the advertising on Steam, then I honestly don't think the point of this MMO is to get new players.

Again, not surprised, but disturbed. This isn't a good sign for the future of the game, and that's beyond the debate about how solid or "good" the game may or may not be. If the production company isn't behind it, none of it matters, not to the outside world at least.

I sense a disturbing lack of MxO ¬_¬

Yeah, YOU.  Get us on Steam please!

I'm tired of MxO getting the shaft on these kinds of promotions.

#36300536060 01/16/2009 21:05:03 Re:Steam and SOE join forces

wow I find it funny and not the least bit suprised! The funny part being that neither SWG and PS are also on the list to be offered.

#36300536066 01/16/2009 21:16:16 Re:Hey Virrago!

I would agree with this...

#36300536073 01/16/2009 21:56:05 Re:Steam and SOE join forces

What's funny is how they give us absolutely no love, EVER...  yet they continue to push Vanguard and that POS game Pirates of the Burning Sea.

Any SOE graphic they make...  no MxO.  Any promotional ad...  no MxO.  Any promotional item given out at Fan Faire...  no MxO.

This is getting really forking old.

#36300536074 01/16/2009 21:56:32 Re:Hey Virrago!

Honestly, I think SOE just wants MxO to die out.  I wish they would change my mind and do this, but I'm not holding my breath.

I agree with everyone in this thread. However, getting MXO on steam is not an easy task. 1, you have to convince steam it's worth being on there. 2, you have to link the steam account with the launcher. It's not *that* easy to do. So if this ever does happen, it will happen months down the road. And that's if they start working on it on monday.

After all the things we've had to go without, I don't think you're gonna sell anyone on this.

Didn't Rarebit once say isthat the lack of Graphics or promotional ads was due to the arrangement with Warner Brothers?

Something about jumping through too many hoops for very little gain?

This is the impression I got from Virrago when I asked about Matrix images on SOE's banners and website graphics for events such as Fan Fairs, red tape holds up the process for too long, legal issues with WB's etc..  Even if they aren't film character likenesses.

#36300537184 01/22/2009 02:57:50 Steam and SOE team up but no Matrix Online

I've just logged into steam for the first time in ages and i see that in a recent news article SOE teamed up with steam to bring you their MMOs via steam but unfortunatly Matrix Online is not on the list so i see now that SOE just want rid of this MMO.
