Sorry but that is not even a real sport....watch more NFL....there's a reason those soccer players make less than my cab driver.

Now you're getting Football and Rugby mixed up, that's basically what NFL is actually.

#36300533376 01/05/2009 02:39:22 Re:Any Peterborough united fans?

I ain't a sporty person at all but i have to say football is better.

Rugby > NFL

Rugby owns. End of story. Stop comparing em. Not even the same sport obviously. Rugby is Rugby. Nfl is the NFL. Dont give me that noise either Woken. Even the NFL players complaining about how soft the sport has become. Getting fined for any little hit on th QB or the recievers. Crying like little girls. FFS its a contact sport. Dont want to get hit. Go player golf.

NFL is still a rougher sport than rugby, and i used to play rugby locally for a team, people die every year playing NFL, some of the tackles are insane, no wonder people break their necks etc when they get tossed into the air and land on their heads, i think NFL > Rugby, but its true that you cant really compare them, two totally different sports

and theres only one UNITED and we play in the best league i the world the premier league!

Do a youtube search for "rugby spear tackles" then come say that again!

Edit: Or dump tackles.

#36300533407 01/05/2009 08:10:03 Re:Any Peterborough united fans?

hehe theres countless NFL tackle videos that get one over =p

i just think NFL is better, its more enetertaining, more money has gone into it to make it entertaining, its a more physical sport, and its a lot more strategic with the plays they think up, when i watch rugby it sends me to sleep, when i watch nfl its exciting, but thats just personal preference, each to their own SMILEY

So if the NFL is so great, why is it no other country participates outside of the United states.

And why is it Americans have to invent their own team sports to be good at team sports.

And as for "Soccer" players getting paid less then Cab drivers, wasnt the "Soccer" club LA Galaxy in america stupid enough to pay a 30yr old + hasbeen $200m to come and play for them? lol.

haha, youll find that NFL is played here in the UK aswell

and, there isnt any reason for NFL to be played outside of US anyway, considering that america is a continent exactly like europe, not a country, and is bigger than all of europe and austrailia added together with a load more space to spare

and look at the 6 nations tournament, 4 of the nations are us! =p

The NFL is not a major league sport in any country other then America, if its in the UK i've never seen it,as its not important enough to get televised.

The countries that make up the European union arent the countries in question we are talking the entire world, even countries like south africa play football (Soccer) and Rugby as Major sports, then you have the entire middle east who play a majority of sports like Cricket and football (Soccer),when America competes in a team sport the rest of the world also competes in it loses horribly.

 Article

The above article points out that they have tryed to bring the NFL Market to Europe,Toronto and Mexico, with it being popular in Mexico and Toronto because it is so close to America it failed in Europe.

#36300533418 01/05/2009 08:53:50 Re:Any Peterborough united fans?

but as i said, america isnt a country, its a continent, exactly like europe and asia, north america is as big as all of europe and new zealand, and thats not even taking south america into the equation

and we arent arguing which is most popular, that wasnt my argument, my argument was that rugby sent me to sleep, and to me nfl was more exciting

the chelsea flower show is a massive televised event, probably more popular than top gears christmas special, it most certainly isnt as exciting =p

I meant continent SMILEY

and as for the rest of your post its all a matter of opinion if i was a Gardener who didnt drive i know what i would be watching, i have stated facts which pretty much shows you that the NFL isnt as great as some of you think because it has failed to take off in other countries.

#36300533427 01/05/2009 09:15:26 Re:Any Peterborough united fans?

that isnt very convincing, that because it failed to take off its not as great as people make out?

the matrix online isnt taking off at the moment, its still a great game SMILEY and i bet you could argue that mxo is better than wow, even tho wow is more popular?

WoW is the better game, they are two different Genres of MMO you could only compare them on Popularity

Much like Football (Soccer) and NFL the only way you can compare the two is through popularity.

#36300533435 01/05/2009 09:32:26 Re:Any Peterborough united fans?

but that argument cant stand, because northern ireland could invent the best game in the world, absolubtly fantastic but only they play it, it doesnt make it any less of a great game, just because more people play it, quality over quantity!

it all comes down to personal preference at the end of the day, there is no "better" than the other one, theres noone who can decide, its just down to you as an individual

makes for good banter though
