I like the two under the lips for the female but the two forhead ones are meh, all in all looks pretty cool.

#36300530001 12/17/2008 13:10:37 Re:Image Retrieval December 17, 2008

Looks like it will be a hat slot item, which means I'll never use it.  I would really enjoy this if it didn't take my hat slot though.

#36300530002 12/17/2008 13:11:22 Re:Image Retrieval December 17, 2008

I was expecting the earring after seeing the back of it in Dev screenshot thread. The studs are interesting. Not my thing though but I'm sure some people are going to love it. It'll be interesting to see the buffs on them.

Niiiiice!!

#36300530005 12/17/2008 13:11:31 Re:Image Retrieval December 17, 2008

Nice to see some unique "accessory" items, fingers crossed on a gun holster at some point.

Still, annoying to see how... hacky... it all is though, not being able to get certain items to work with different RSIs and such. Still hate the fact we flat out needed two versions of the War Sword.

#36300530006 12/17/2008 13:12:35 Re:Image Retrieval December 17, 2008

yeah this is pretty cool!! I like ^^

A while back I would have said no chance as it's a part of the NPC's pant's model, but seeing what we've seen, I can actually see it happening, although it'd have to take up a slot and I'd guess the most appropriate may be the jacket slot if it was implemented. (Although I'd like to see the tool slot being used for non buffed 'accessory' items...)

I can see your point about being 'hacky' but I guess it's the limitation of the games engine coupled with the usual bit about no. of Dev's available etc. Besides, hacking The Matrix is quite apt!

#36300530008 12/17/2008 13:18:28 Re:Image Retrieval December 17, 2008

Not interested.

#36300530009 12/17/2008 13:18:53 Re:Image Retrieval December 17, 2008

Hm. If it was two earings I could see it attracting more folk. Not I, but more. I have no time for riddling my flesh with bolts of metal and "Talon"

#36300530010 12/17/2008 13:19:46 Re:Image Retrieval December 17, 2008

Gross, how about a belly button ring for females instead?

Hmm.. Nipple rings for male RSI's? There is one NPC with them... SMILEY

#36300530012 12/17/2008 13:23:38 Re:Image Retrieval December 17, 2008

This...while actually a pretty cool addition...isn't something I'd ever use. But good to see the option available.

#36300530013 12/17/2008 13:25:30 Re:Image Retrieval December 17, 2008

I want the level 50 item to be the Black Hat-danna

#36300530018 12/17/2008 13:44:21 Re:Image Retrieval December 17, 2008

Another item I'd never use, but it's still very cool to see something like this implemented.  Perhaps the days of other jewelry items aren't miles away.

Awesomesauce.

I know what I'm getting for Sieges this Christmaaaaassss.

And maybe Nicksie.

But not Ebola, she won't put o-- SHE'S NOT NICE.

#36300530102 12/17/2008 20:52:08 Re:Image Retrieval December 17, 2008

Ahem, don't say bad things about Nicksie, or I shall take your nuts, dip them in oil, light them on fire, and then shove them down your throat while they are still on fire.

#36300530116 12/17/2008 21:33:30 Re:Image Retrieval December 17, 2008

Very clever. I like where this is going. Hopefully it's a perpetucal FX so it'll go in the tool slot, purely cosmetic.

It's not something I'll get, but hopefully that's just the merv item.

#36300530150 12/18/2008 03:15:11 Re:Image Retrieval December 17, 2008

Full suite of accessory items that use the tool slot, plz.

#36300530161 12/18/2008 04:24:05 Re:Image Retrieval December 17, 2008

Are these items only FX???  U could put them in the tool space and make them usefull with some buffs or resistences SMILEY

#36300530166 12/18/2008 04:34:10 Re:Image Retrieval December 17, 2008

Considering that we don't see either RSI with a dana or hat on, I'm going to assume that these will use the hat slot and have buffs. I'm not sure if the tool slot is used differently to the clothing slots, but having accessories enabled as perma FX with or without buffs or bonuses would be nice to see.

#36300530359 12/18/2008 09:40:54 Re:Image Retrieval December 17, 2008

Theres been some very nice clothing items really like accessories and such but its a shame we cant wear them with other items due to the slot it takes up!

Good stuff though.

An update to shut off the winter event might happen on the 22nd, but that may be pushed off until the next main update.

The next main update is probably Feb 12th (two weeks longer than usual since the last main update, due to dev slacking with time off over the holidays).

EDIT: Oh yah, I should mention that since the original spec for the winter holday was to have it shut off on the 15th (tomorrow), after the servers come back up from the weekly restart, the Holiday mission will be disabled until 9mmfu can get in and re-enable it manually.

#36300535494 01/14/2009 17:10:20 Re:Image Retrieval December 17, 2008

so thats an update in 8 weeks since the last does that mean we get a 33.3% discount off my next months subscription due to as you said dev slacking off time.  or a 150% more work effort from said dev to make up for said slacking off time. oh and crappy cinematics and vista bug fixes dont count. lol

#36300535496 01/14/2009 17:14:42 Re:Image Retrieval December 17, 2008

I would say that Vista graphical bug fixes are entirely worthy of the the extra time if Rarebit's work on them bears fruit.

#36300535498 01/14/2009 17:27:30 Re:Image Retrieval December 17, 2008

but for a Gen1 mmo thats basically on life support whats the point. and also xp is the gamers choice of operating system so if your a gamer whats the point of having vista.

#36300535504 01/14/2009 17:44:40 Re:Image Retrieval December 17, 2008

Why don't you ask the people who play it on Vista? Keeping MxO graphically 'XP only' limits the amount of people who can play without some crappy graphics issue. With more and more PC's being shipped with Vista it's about time these issues were sorted out for those people who aren't hardcore gamers and as such don't want/cant afford to replace their OS with XP.

You'd have to ask Customer Service about that. I suspect the answer is "No." Let me know what they say if you ask them, though.

Fixed. It doesnt cost anything to replace an OS.

#36300535512 01/14/2009 17:57:54 Re:Image Retrieval December 17, 2008

So you can get XP for free? Or do Vista users have the option of a free downgrade?

Yep.

#36300535514 01/14/2009 18:07:28 Re:Image Retrieval December 17, 2008

so its ok to have a update that only benefits those using vista. may as well i mean we've already alienated those who were playing just for the storyline and live events so why not release an update for a small section of people who cant be bothered to either dual boot or jiust uninstall vista and put xp on.  i for one run 3 os's for varied tasks and atm im also trialing windows 7 as well, i understand that there are problems with vista andmxo but i think it would be more beneficial if more work was to go into progression of the story.  case in point rarebit you seemed to have some time to jackin to test out vista bugs why not have thrown a mini live event instead.
