That would have been Friday, November 28th, "1999" (2008) starting in Mannesdale Housing Projects around 4:20 PM MCT.  (After leaving us, Ghost seems to have made a stop in Downtown then made quite an extensive tour of parts of International District.)

The Matrix was eerily quiet and empty, with none of the members of our loosely aligned Zion/EPN cooperative jacked in to any of the instances.  (We checked all the standard Zion comm protocols: YIM, AIM, XF, Skype and SL, but there must have been severe interference from Dark Storm, because no one answered our hails.)  The Brethren were running orientation and access node operations for a couple of new recruits (one of which you can see being unceremoniously dumped on his head by one of the local drug dealing gang members) when Ghost dropped in.  He was, as usual, thoughtful and, for a change, talkative.  After the only other available allied operatives were called in for the impromptu meeting with Ghost, we shared our thoughts pro domo sua. Zion and EPN allies on any instance may request a debriefing and may be asked to join in the investigation underway because of Ghost's promptings.  Qualifications of high NKL, and/or outstanding Zion/EPN reputation and/or mad street cred may be required before any information is divulged.  Contact one of The Brethren Captains on Recursion: PS10N, NeoExcidious, BadKiity, Sarisor or Commander LeMage.

Not sure if the posts were just late, planned to be posted a couple of weeks after the events or ended up being posted due to the comments of a lot of people wanting to follow what was said and was decided that posting them doesn't really make a detrimental impact on the format of the new approach.

Personally I'm going to opt for late due to the extra stuff being done for the winter hols. Still, I'm also very happy that these are continuing to be posted to the public.

The real problem here is that he's shot himself in the foot by posting these now, because effectively we'll know how often he does them as opposed to having the possiblity of him saying he's doing them constantly without confirmation, so basically we'll be able to view his "efforts" concerning these events and understand just how much time is spent in game as opposed to out.

Those of you who think that's a good thing - stay tuned you're in for a treat.

This is the way i thought LE's were suppose to be done, random. The way before, i wouldn't find out there was an event till that night (mainly cause the liasons were never on to pass any info) but there was people that would come over from another server, knowing there was a LE.

What time of the day did this go down?  Wondering why because I'm on the west coast with a full time day job so the richland club meet and greets are pretty much out for me; so wondering if, in the 0.0000001% chance I'd stumble onto one of these spontaneous things, it would be a time when I'd actually be ingame.

I think it was already established that live events would be sporadic and only done to facilitate points in the story, where needed.  So for us to only see these on occasion would be expected.

amirite?

#36300527365 12/09/2008 09:33:47 Re:[11.3] There's something I just...remembered - Recursion - 11/28/08

My point isn't about when they're done my friend, it's about general effort, personally i think it's good to share intel in terms of keeping people on the same page and i do like the smaller circle events, but i think rare's shot himself in the foot because this is going to show people how often he jacks in - but i guess i've forgotten that what used to be random encounters now constitutes as very difficult and elaborate high end live events.

And the difference between not enough events and where the story needs it is a line rarebit get's to decide afterall.

=

So let's just say i said something nice and polite in the manner that synapse did as opposed to my previous points about a lack of effort.

I thought the Machines got to him after he'd returned, though I suppose since he's a program, the Merv may have a back-up file for him somewhere.

It was always kinda left open. I mean, sure he got shot but he made it back to his Construct before dying. And as we all know, down there, he's god.

   Eh, time really isn't an issue.  He can post these whenever he wants.  It's just that Rarebit stopped writting the storyline summaries, and I was slightly (and perhaps unnecessarily) worried that he wasn't going to make live event posts anymore. ^^;

#36300527547 12/09/2008 21:24:34 Re:[11.3] There's something I just...remembered - Recursion - 11/28/08

Well we may see some of how often, but I remember a few events that simply weren't posted (because they were small or went bad)

that and they are staying random since this happened a few days ago atleast.

....oh and now im thinking of next likely locations if she kept going back in the story from the chateau and ending at the apartment before going back to DT, it would either be, from what I can remember outside metacortex waiting for Thomas. But if she jumped forward past the chateau it would either be that one meeting room in DT where they plan to blow out the power (an unknown location could be in hampton, it was just a random room) and then after that (the beginning of revolutions) the building with the missing floor where she needs to blow the power and then jumps out the window.

unless I'm missing something those would be the two locations that would logically be next going either backwards or forwards in the story from the chateau.

I got this dispatch for immediate release from Commodore PS10N, so here it is.

Those who think that this encounter was with a "random" group of people fall into the category of masses who mistakenly believe their own subjective perceptions are an objectively absolute reality.  Perusing the full logs of the Zion meeting held in Sakura will reveal the reason why The Brethren were chosen.  The visual records of that meeting could even reveal the connection to those who are very perceptive.  Everything is what you make of it, and it isn't difficult to excel in an environment where so many are quitting and so few are even trying.  It's not at all difficult to keep text and visual logs of the critical missions and later scrutinize them for relevant clues.  It's even easier to follow the information posted on the public feeds.  Discussing ideas with friends and allies separates the plausible theories from the unlikely ones.  Presenting a relatively competent analysis to Zion command, in this case represented by Niobe, was the feedback which sent Ghost to the ones who were interested and involved and actually have a good idea of what's really going on.  I guess the old saying is true, "in the land of the blind, the one eyed man is king."  Operatives of other organizations who demonstrate their interest, involvement, and competent knowledge of current events to their leaders will likely be rewarded similarly with live operations.  As with any undertaking, it must be pursued with will, focus and diligence, and involves time and hard work to yield results.  You didn't really expect or want these operations to be just hand-outs, or did you?   You do have to want it, but you also have to do it.  It isn't hard after all.  From a certain perspective, our lives are just games, and games are meant to be fun.  The last five weeks have been a lot of fun for the Brethren, and I have a feeling others are about to have some fun of their own.

I wanted to say something here, buuuuuuuut I think I'll keep my piece. Regardless good try at keeping the rp in the tread going PS10N and crew, but ehmmmmm... I think that there's no need to point out your good intel abilities yourself with a justification for why you got the event linked to a Zion meeting and furthermore naming yourself delegrates to EPN now... not unless that's something you've arranged over the heads of.... HOLY! It just dawned upon me that I'm witnessing a pre date SOE takeover  FA vs the World situation! THE GAME LIVES!!! THE GAME LIVES!!! *runs off to the big cave in Zion* "THE GAME LIIIIIIVES!!!!!".

Hope you're feeling suitably 1337 now.

Come on People! I have better things to do than make up stuff and post it on a forum!(Like my college classes, my job, my boyfriend, my family and my friends!) The reason I made those posts for PS10N is because he is saving his next post on this forum, which is his 777th post, for something grand! So get over yourselves and do something productive! I have been named the "communications officer" for my faction so expect to see more posts from me. If you don't like it don't read it!

You know what? You're perfectly right. You succeded so well past every other Zion/EPN faction, and even every other faction in MxO for simply not giving into those urges to spell out ape noises in area chat, that you got Rarebit to find you and talk to you on a LE character. Congrats. I'm sure you'll have plenty more of these private sessions in the future!

It's a shame that Live Event's or whatever it is, is turning out to a fight/hate between player's now. I fear what the first real Live Event will be like if it continues this way. The whole forum is full of hate and anger now, let's atleast not try to kill each other in here too, we are not event get forum cq's for that.

#36300528022 12/11/2008 01:02:44 Re:[11.3] There's something I just...remembered - Recursion - 11/28/08

It's not really anything to do with the event itself, just more to do with the egotistical boasting and the apparent 'Haha, u guise r 2 stoopid 4 to get LE's' mentality of the participants subsequent posts. LE's are a hot topic right now and what was posted was either done in ignorance of the current community issue or simply an ill-advised cheapshot and one-upmanship post aimed quite obviously at the rest of the community.

PS10N writes:

The intent and meaning of my IC post was so badly misconstrued, misunderstood and twisted by some of those who replied, that I feel I must paraphrase it in much simpler language OOC.

((Participating in the meetings, party and live event over the last five weeks was a lot of fun, involving exploring the storyline and interacting with the movie characters.  The new approach is workable and will open up Live Events to anyone who follows the new ways.  We had a lot of fun, we like this new accessible approach, and we hope that sharing this working method means you can too.))

The only way I can understand how that could be so hatefully twisted into the horrible insults and accusations we suffered is that those who replied were IC and role playing (with great skill) a Cypherite choosing delusion over reality (but resorting to name-calling - ?) and a Machine propagandist following the official System doctrine of attacking the messenger by perverting the message.  IC RP is great, bring it on.  The ad hominem comments of "egotism, boasting, mentality, cheap shot, one-upmanship" only go to show how an intended meaning can be completely twisted to appear to be opposite by assuming a wrong IC/OC context.  I'm not PS10N, I'm the player playing him.  He's got an agenda quite different from my own, my own being to have fun playing MxO and help others do the same.  Does anyone accuse an actor of the actions, beliefs or words of their character?   It's equally silly to think that an RP post has anything to do with the real person writing the fiction.

Rest assured, nothing anyone posts on the internet can stop us from continuing to support, promote and play the bits out of MxO.  I'd like to welcome any of the six new Brethren recruits who joined us in the last few weeks who may be reading this.  If you have even a fraction of the mad fun I've had playing MxO, you'll be here a long time to come.  The community is going through a period of painful re-birth right now, and when the dust settles it will be stable again.

The matters of the New Zion Medical Corps and New Zion Ambassadorial Delegation to EPN have been discussed with those EPN who requested clarification and information.  Zion and EPN who wish to work together and share intel across servers can contact Brethren for more information.  Thanks to all the EPN on Recursion and Syntax who have been staunch allies in the past.  Believe, Neo Bless You, and all that IC RP stuff.

Caveman's issues include having three university degrees, being a published author, owning a computer business, running the IT department for a major Real Estate company and being one of the most optimistic and spiritual people one could hope to meet, not to mention having a GFIRL who's a beautiful, sexy, educated business woman who plays MxO.  Happy Caveman go have more MxO fun now?

P.S. These posts are from me, soe.mxo.recursion.ps10n BadKiity is posting for me for various reasons. If you want verification, I can be reached any number of ways.  AIM: ps10nmxo, YIM: ps10n, email or Live!: [email protected], myspace.com/ps10n, MySpace IM:ps10n, skype: MxO_PS10N
