I have opened this channel to facilitate communication amongst the Operatives assisting me in investigating a recent outbreak of... anomalous... behavior among bluepills in the simulation.

I am at this time negotiating the protocols to transfer Information already recorded on several faction databases into this channel. Once that transfer has been negotiated, all further investigation will be reported here.

For Operatives involved, I will contact you as soon as I have any substantial information to report.

Greetings Operatives, 

 I have been able to begin the transfer of Investigation data to this channel.

The first section of reports was initially recorded in the database of The Daniel Institute. As they were in close proximity to the initial incident, they were the first group I contacted to assist with investigation. Captain Coroebus of that Institute decided that additional assistance from System Operatives would be valuable to the investigation, and invited members of the Special Operations Crisis Agency to participate, and there will be some data to report from their database as well. Several other Factions have also become involved- at this point I am quite pleased with the co-operative spirit with which all parties have rallied to counter this threat to Bluepill safety, and the stability of the simulation.

I have attempted to place the data in approximately chronological order, and attempted to eliminate redundancies.

However, I did note that Mr. Dunn... err, excuse me, DA... referred to the individual as "drugged-out". The bluepill autopsy did not identify any known consumable inebriants. He also suggested that several other Operatives, perhaps Captain's Coroebus and psilody, may have been more involved in the incident.

Due to other... obligations... I have been unable to contact those individuals directly. As such, this Transmission is simply a request that if they, or any of your other members, have any information that might have a bearing on this case, I would appreciate hearing from you.

The case may, in fact, turn out to be... inconsequential. However, I do not like to leave a case un-investigated. I appreciate any help you can give.

I have now transmitted to you the one retrievable item which I recovered from the body of Abramson. It would appear to be a quantity of a controlled substance; often referred to as drugs.

His manner was very erratic and I would concur that he was under the influence of an intoxicant. I must admit I hold no specialism in this field and would appreciate an update on any new information which may transpire.

This information is useful indeed. It would appear that Mr.Abramson was under the influence of some code substance.

My Initial examination of the sample Coroebus sent me, while rudimentary, has determined that this is not one of the "standard" substance codes within the system. While I am not an expert in this field, I am familiar with the appearance of almost all of our drug codes. The black residue in this vial does not conform to any substance I know of.

This leads me to the conclusion that this is a... "new"... drug. Furthermore, it must consequently have been coded by someone, or, alternatively, concocted within some lab within the simulation. In the case of the latter, I can turn this case over to the regular Authorities. Bluepills playing with chemistry sets is not my concern.

If, however, some Exile or Redpill has coded this, it requires further... attention. Obviously, such codes potentially disrupt the function of the system, and, as you witnessed, threaten the lives of Bluepills. To determine which scenario we are dealing with, I will need to have this sample analyzed by an... expert.

This leads me to a... dilemna. My analyst is a... contractor... who bases out of Park East. Due to my... limited... Nuerokinetic level, it would be... challenging... for me to transport the sample there myself. Furthermore, if it is code-based, the Exiles or Redpills responsible may be looking to recover any... evidence. I would also be unable to prevent a concerted effort to remove it from my person.

As such, I will most likely need some assistance in this venture. I realize that, at this time, the relationship between Zion and the System is... well... quite frankly, hostile. Personally, I am not sure why, other than possibly a desire by my superiors for the "status quo". Despite this, I am authorized to contract out the assistance I need according to my own... criteria.

As your Institute is already involved in this incident, I would... prefer... to have you assist me in its further investigation. As you showed some concern for the well-being of this Bluepill, I hope I can appeal to your concern for others if this code were further disseminated. I will compensate you for your work, as I would any system operative.

And, yes, Operative Hyperviolent, the described behavior is quite different from the...usual... intoxicant codes within the simulation.

It is probably unfortunate that there need be such codes at all. However, the simulation is a modestly faithful recreation of a past human environment. There is some evidence to suggest that humans have been using... drugs... of one sort or another from very early times. As such, it was neccessary to... replicate them... in order to better approximate the human experience.

That being said, it would seem that System has... tried... to avoid effects that heighten the liklihood of death or awakening. However, even some of the... approved... codes can still cause such side effects, witness "alcohol". Though we have little data to work from yet, this new "drug" would certainly seem to increase the chances of the former.

Since you are willing to assist, I will make some... arrangements. First, for the time being, I will return the vial containg the substance to Captain Coroebus. It is quite probably more secure in your posession. Secondly, I will need to arrange for you to meet with our... analyst.

If you could possibly provide me a... convenient... date and time for this meeting, I will make such arrangements.

Yesterday evening, I met with Coroebus, Rsy of The Pride, and Ripin4 of the Special Operations Crisis Agency (SOCA) for a briefing on matters so far...

After the meeting recorded above, members of SOCA and The Collective made a search in the Tabor Park area. They discovered a Warehouse where some sort of altercation had taken place. There were stashes of several drugs, including a sample that would appear to match the one found on Mr. Abramson's body.

I initiated a system scan of that area. While doing so, i received a report from my Operator of an individual behaving strangely on the northernmost bridge connecting Richland and Westview. The operatives present responded, and found yet another delusional bluepill. During the encounter, the bluepill apparently placed herself in the way of traffic and the bridge and was... terminated. Operatives were once again able to locate a strange substance on the body, though in somewhat different form.

My Scan of the Warehouse uncovered a partial recording, picked up from the "radio" transmssion of a cell phone. The conversation appears to indicate that the altercation was somehow cleaning up a mishap in the distribution of this substance. Two male voices can be heard in the conversation, but no identities have been established.

Finally, I am receiving some reports from "the street" about a new recreational drug called SICK, or some such nonsense. The bewildering variety of slang names and spellings for these substances can be rather bewildering. However, i suspect that this may in fact be our "new drug".

It is not yet clear whether all these incidents are related. I will need to arrange another meeting with Dr. Mahanti soon, but it may take some time to schedule this. In the meantime, I will monitor the simulation, and report any questionable activity to available Operatives.

From this point on, I would like to move reporting on this incident over to the DN1 channel. I will be using a post in the Syntax-Next Renaissance for reports and discussions among all the groups involved. You may continue to post findings here, but it would be more conducive to our investiagtion to place them on that channel.

In speaking with Mr. Whitney last evening, I understand that he and others investigated a possibly related incident in the Tabor Area. I appreciate your expediency in investigating this problem. We have reported finding drugs at a building we locked down last night. We found alot of drugs, and other substance's. But, we did find some of this "New Drug" that Coroebus told us about. It was in a small package, but it had the same residue. We have yet to confirm it, because I asked them not to and seek your advice first before analizing it. But, I will be in the Simulation, and will give it to you then.

A meeting with Weft was attended by both Machinist and Zion operatives, last week...

Halfway through the meeting, Weft located another Bluepill under the effects of the drug. She was located on a bridge leading to Stamos. After some mindless rambling about bubbles, she ran out n to a busy highway and was promptly run over. ((Apologies - no shots of the incident with the girl: still hunting for them.)) Remains of the substance were recovered from her body and returned to the meeting. With new test samples, Weft agreed to arrange another meeting with Dr.Mahanti.

Merovingian interference then curtailed the meeting. Whether they are implicated in these matters is still unclear...

In the absence of contact from DrMahanti, operatives were intrigued to over-hear a telephone conversation from a Bluepill at the Tabor West phonebooth... Apparently arranging a drugs exchange in southern Apollyon. He was followed to the area of the Red Line subway where further suspicious loittering took place...

 Our monitoring wasn't rewarded by witnessing any meeting as was suggested by his earlier conversation. Eventually, a decision was made that he be intercepted and challenged.

After some grilling, Mike offered up some enlightening information. His contact was a male who has dreadlocks, known only as "Buddy" and seems to have a girlfrined called "Natalie". We also discovered that he can sometimes be found at Jacob's Ladder on Tuesdays.
