Nice shot. I would like here, in Spain, we would have the same patriotism.

For the Fallen(1914)

They went with songs to the battle, they were young,
Straight of limb, true of eye, steady and aglow.
They were staunch to the end against odds uncounted;
They fell with their faces to the foe.

They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old:
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning
We will remember them.

Laurence Binyon (1869-1943)

For all those who have fallen and those who have experienced the evils of war...

It's the politicians who start wars, but it's the boys who fight them.

Thanks for this rememberence! Lest we forget.

Boys and girls fight them. In many cultures women have been warriors right along with their men, not only nursemaids and those who fill jobs the men leave to go "fight."

The system of calling the national guard in the USA to go to Iraq and Afganistan has leveled a bit the socio-economic gap of previous "wars" where the lower socio-economic, often non-caucasion men were the ones who got sent off to fight. Seems to me that some justice has ocurred now that sons and daughters of Senators, etc. now have also been sent to war.
