10% drop rate.

Yeah, I know... with all of the times I've killed her so far, though, I'm beginning to wonder. Then again, I've never had the best luck with drops.

Edit: Finally!  Sheesh...

Am I the only one who is a little raged at the fact that the "Gray Bandana" is just a copy of the Threadbare Sleepwalker Bandana, just only with mediocre buffs? While Merv's and Zions get new items?

Pfft, a retextured model as opposed to two completely new models.

For once Mechs aren't getting the best item/s and Zion/Mervs get something cool, I see no problem. After all that time of Mechs having the FM-1500 all to themselves it's nice to see attention on other orgs.

Okay so let me try to follow this logic here...

Because other orgs got sub-par items at one point or another, or didn't get anything to perfectly match another org's thing, that justifies one org getting a sub-par item. I thought this was a video game and not some kind of content-revenge circle.

Agreed on the Bandana. I wouldn't have minded if it had decent buffs, and yeah my FM-1500 must have gotten lost in the post... >.>

#36300518254 11/07/2008 02:52:03 Re:Update 64 Discussion - November 06, 2008

The point I'm trying to make is, all this time Mechs seem to get the favourable items associated with their org where Zions/Mervs get reskinned stuff or stuff that is barely associated with their org (Archive Rewards are a good example).

Now for once Mechs don't get the premier treatment, I for one don't really see the problem cause at nearly all other times you've been getting it better. Besides, the items you get are rewards for critical missions so clearly they are RP based, much like Zions agent spawns. And if Zion have to put up with them cause of the RP and story reasons, I guess you have to accept your items cause they're based on RP and the story.

#36300518258 11/07/2008 03:21:10 Re:Update 64 Discussion - November 06, 2008

While the visual aspect can be explained that way for RP reasons (Hey lets attack the Machines for having a well defined look shall we? We'll also ignore the fact that a Bandana is generally seen as Cyph not Mech) each Org item has had the same buffs attributed to as others given out for the same point do they not? So while the Mervs were a bit screwed due to being only able to wear one Archive reward at any one time, it doesn't justify the poor buffs of the Bandana compared to Zions. Different buffs, fine, as long as they are actually useful.

Last night I dropped two GM Boxes in Sati's playground, 5m a piece. I killed Ninjas up to lvl 57 on both boxes and not one shuriken.

Question: Have the drop rates been changed on the Kunoichi boxes with the update 64?

I have been doing these boxes for the last month and I usually get 1-5 shurikens. I would like to know before I drop another 5m on a box that won't yeild Shurikens.

I think what's been done with the faction system is a bad idea.

Did some tests, leaders are no longer allowed to pass on leadership to another crew; and their crew cannot leave the faction. The only way to change leadership is to completely disband and remake the faction, or to go through a huge headache of inviting another player to the crew and promoting them to Captain.

Doesn't seem like that to me, just bad luck I guess. Seems like the Shuriken drop rate is 25%.

That's actually been like that for a while. I remember as far back as June of 2006, the Devil's Advocates had to disband and re-form when leadership changed hands.

Frankly, I like the change to who has access to the Disband button: when I first started MxO, the first faction I was in was abruptly dissolved when two of the Rank 1 captains started quarreling. It seems the other Rank 1, not the leader, decided to disband the faction just to spite him, and I think Rare changed this to prevent repeats of the incident.

Okay, so Zion gets their own new model glasses that was previously NPC only. Then Merv gets their own new model, that was previously NPC only. Then Machines get a Gray Bandana, that is the same model and *same* texture of a Sleepwalker Bandana just with not-so-great buffs. And that's okay, because you know, we have had access to a re-textured FM model that is given out at the graces of LESIG.

I have never said that Mervs and Zions got the good end of the stick when org-specific rewards came out. It's really just a matter of opinion though. Zion Beret is a re-textured model (actually come to think of it, it's a new model considering it has the same little button or whatever on the front of the beret), Zion Rave Pants is a re-textured model, Merv Coats are re-textured, Machine gets a retextured shirt and a new model of glasses. Well it was new, until now we have 3 versions of the same model just re-textured available for everyone, and you can also get the Earpiece seperate in 2 different textures.

But you have to realize, all of the above was accessible by everybody, not like it is now.

So instead you justify that since Machines got the special treatment of replacing a permanent sfx-reward item with re-textured gun with an altered noise, that is pretty rare to begin with and will even more rarely be given out, that it's okay to just say, "The score is settled."

I don't know what to make of that. Either you're biased, which you probably are considering you're Zion or you're just saying, "It's okay, we got our revenge." Like eval said, it's a video game and that's a very childish way to look on the situation.

#36300518409 11/07/2008 13:16:30 Re:Update 64 Discussion - November 06, 2008

I never said revenge, stop putting words in my mouth. I would consider it "Revenge" if Machinists were to get their own random lvl 100 spawns that they can't prevent SMILEY

What I am trying to say is that in most new content Zion or Merv got the short end of the stick (Be it functionality, originality, relevance to their org etc...). Now an update comes out where Mechs get the short end, to be honest you really can't complain given all the other perks of being a Mech. You still have no agent spawns, the only truly unique item in the form of the FM-1500 which can't be traded for, you can trade for the Zion and Merv item still.

Recently there have definitely been more defining difference between how orgs are handled, some good, some bad. The Org specifica areas for example, Mervs by far got the best place, Zion worst. Then the Archive rewards, Mechs got something they all want where Zion get a beret for the commando's that now work for the Merv. Now Zion is getting Agent spawns which harass them (Granted Rarebit toned it down recently which I am very grateful for). I'm not denying the mechs got the short end of the stick this update. But it's all swings and roundabouts. Now that Rarebit is more clearly defining the orgs I can accept the agent spawns (That's also due to them being toned down) as long as there are other differences (Where before with the agent spawns alone it was nothing but a "Punishment"/Disadvantage).

Each org now has perks and disadvantages in game terms (Mervs get a tops Org specific area, Mechs get cool relevant archive rewards and FM-1500's, Zion gets Agent spawns). Not every org can come out on top with every update and Zion has been shafted a few times in my opinion. This update the Mechs came out worst, but given the history of what the Mechs have been getting I don't think you can really complain. Who knows, maybe next update the Zionists will get the worst item, or the mervs.

And after all the Mechs told me to "Deal with it" when I complained about Agent spawns, I really don't think they can complain now.

Spawns can be prevented.

Mechs don't get FM-1500s.  A very few select operatives have one.

Agent spawns are easy to deal with.

We can complain now because the new mech bandana has essentially no value as it is weaker than so many other options and looks completely generic.

It's quite probably something that can't be fixed, texture layers and all that, but because it's such an odd combination it probably wont be much of an issue anyway. Just thought I'd share.

I gotta admit, i'm not entirely sure what you're pointing out either Well, i mean...i can see what you mean about the shirt collar being see through, but i though that those shirts were see-through anyways sort of (bare in mind i never wear those things, so don't have much experience, and i'm sure you are right...but i can see where confusion might arrive).

#36300518676 11/08/2008 13:53:14 Re:Update 64 Discussion - November 06, 2008

I see what you mean, Vin.  SMILEY  Despite the mesh of the shirt, one shouldn't be able to see straight through oneself.  If you look at the picture, you can see the subway wall/stairs through where the collar on her shirt/blazer would have been.

As for the male blazer, I was under the impression it's the same as the avero suit coats we already have.. though I never wear them so I'm not sure if they had any collar layering issues that the Hampton one was designed to address.

#36300518677 11/08/2008 13:56:49 Re:Update 64 Discussion - November 06, 2008

I'll get the man of the house to jump on MxO and take a few screens of the blazer and a shirt...

So he says that the collar does the same with the Hampton blazer as it does with other uncollared jackets such as the Merv black trench...

Now if only the Jeans had belts like the Hampton pants! SMILEY

#36300518892 11/09/2008 15:56:19 Re:Update 64 Discussion - November 06, 2008

This new content is similar to the old content in that if so motivated you can farm everything you want in a few days, or even a day.

The difference is that in the past there'd still be a new crit coming out every week, LESIG would have their side events and stuff going on, and daily live events would occur. Now, all those side story LESIG things seem to have disappeared (cough Scanline, among others), and the "crits" are replaced with everything being packaged into the beginning, and we have no idea if or when any events will occur. When we were getting content in the form of constructs, the items there would sell for a decent amount of cash in the first week or so of the update. Now, these quests are designed for most players to be able to complete them, so the perceived difficulty isn't high enough to make people buy the items... and as for the other orgs' items, the buffs aren't good enough for people to be willing to spend large amounts of cash on them. The motivation for replayability just isn't there.

Before you could always jack in and have something to do... now, well I'm glad Manatik's hosting the Vector Olympics for the next six weeks or so, otherwise it'd basically be "Ok, done with 11.3, /jackout until next update."

That's what I've been thinking too, Bay.  Especially since we don't know when/if LE will happen (not the big meetings Rare will announce but the smaller ones), there's not much incentive to play once we have all the new stuff for 11.3.

Granted I have alts to level up, but otherwise, yeah.

#36300518909 11/09/2008 17:20:27 Re:Update 64 Discussion - November 06, 2008

The new content is good, could turn into a bit of a grind, but it is still fun.

However...

The new content can be completed in a day, and once the new content has been finished, what else do we have to look forward to until the next update? As it has already been said, all we have gotten is the same old malarky, but without the daily events.

I never logged on in the past to do missions, I mainly logged on to pvp, or, on the off chance I was awake late enough to take part in the live event, which then would make me think "Hmmm, that was fun, lets go read up on the forums about what has happened in the last few days." Right now, I can't motivate myself to read a wall of sometimes utterly mindless dribble from the mission NPCs.

These are all points from my own point of view, so take them as you wish, but I strongly feel taking away daily content, replacing it with missions (most level 50s hate missions), stripping down two orgs, and adding a monthly (or whatever the time period between updates is) grind fest is taking a positive step in the wrong direction.

Nice to know I'm not the only one who's seeing and feeling this.  Not that I necessarily plan to not log in or anything, but I know I'll be logging in bored and having to scrounge around for things to do a lot more often than I used to once I'm done with the updates (at this point, there's just a few more RSI caps I want and I want to take Wright out once or twice and then that's all folks).

I wouldn't say the buffs are useless on it, they may not be on par with the SSR's but they're still pretty decent. They're better then the shades I use right now but the only reason why I don't want them to wear in pvp (because I wouldn't wear them any other time) is because they lack Thrown resist and I don't feel like having to redo all my clothing for loadouts so that I don't lose that resistance.

That's what I've been thinking too, Bay. Especially since we don't know when/if LE will happen (not the big meetings Rare will announce but the smaller ones), there's not much incentive to play once we have all the new stuff for 11.3.

Hence the suggestion of giving it a week before each part can be accessed, plus it allows for a IR each week to do with the different items available etc...

Because it's only been a few days since the start of this new way of doing things, I'm going to wait to see how Rare  or LESIG go about doing some LE's during the next 5 weeks. Also it'll be interesting, based on the reaction to the very first quest/mission system, to see if Rare refines what he wants to do and how to go about it (Such as the possibility of removing level requirements and releasing each subchapter at different times).

Most of the updated contents concering the storyline seems to be good for me, especially the great cinematic. I appreciate Rarebit's work.

I do not know how new style missions will work. I understand they can be finished in a day. However, since we will have chances to join new style live events (though we have not had any events yet), it does not mean people finished the missions no more log on.

I think the highlight of the update is new style live event. As everybody has his/her own style, some player like pvp and others not, some like gathering items and others not, and some like critical missions and others not. But I can confidently say most players love live events SMILEY

Im in the same boat as these guys. While the new stuff is good and all, to me its just a grindfest, and after you do get your stuff, theres really nothing to do til next update.. guess we can always get our CQ count up ^^

Why is it that everyone will always find something to complain about, no matter what the situation is?

It's called "pacing yourself".  Clearly there is gap between updates so why kill yourself to knock it out in a few days??  Take your time.  No e-peen trophies for "OMG I GOTS IT FIRST KTHX". SMILEY

There is plenty to do and the fact that we have no idea if and when events will occur gives me plenty of reason to want to jack in and check things out to see if anything is on the radar.
