While this event has had it's flaws, I think we all need to step back and thank doh and co for putting themselves through hell to try to help us have something to do.

It's sad to hear about someone can't take losing a fight. Bottom line is if you can't prove a sploit or stop it. theres nothing really to talk about. Disqualify someone for something you can't prove? I think people are missing the general idea. To give some content to the game we all can participate in as a community not just a faction or an organization.

To the winners, congratulations

To Playdoh & Byond: Dont let it get to you, and keep up the good work

To SC and Bayamos - it seems like you lost and dont like how it feels?- so its not SC 26, World 0 - big deal

To any complainers: Host your own tournament

To the exploit claimers: Talk to a dev, like Playdoh said, its not our function to nitpick at every single damage dealt in a fight and determine whether or not an exploit was used - if you wanna do that, as above, host your own tourney.

DE does not pick sides or allow known exploits to be used in the tourney that we have control over, or if we are 100% sure that it is indeed an exploit. Take your claims elsewhere Bay, as far as that forum access you have, its gone - you dont get to make an alt in our faction, Atrophi, and never get on it, but in the meantime troll our site EVERY DAY to see whats going on and make false interprentations of what you say to be us favoring exploits to be used in the event. Please.

Of course, I dont want to ruffle any feathers either, but by all means if any of your egos cant take losing in an event, feel free to drop out.

Frankly, I'm disappointed by this post.

I've had nothing but respect for the previous tournaments run, and this one too. I've got nothing but respect for you either, Manatik. If you'd have read my post I'm quite happy to accepted defeat(This line in my post, if you read it: Like I want to re-iterate, I'm not complaining or wanting this decision overturned, Duckker won the second fight fair and square.), I was beaten fair and square in the second fight, and congrats to him for doing so. Heck even this might have happend by accident that can't be ruled out at all, but what I'm trying to accomplish is bringing something to the table here to try and *help* the tournament so that there's no issues in the next events. To have an ego in a video game is both pointless and stupid, particularly one with a combat system like ours, so I don't know why I'm being accused of having one. I'm getting mixed messages here, because Byond was quite willing to get any possible measures in place to prevent it from happening again.

Like I expressed to Playdoh and Byond in game, I know running a tournament is hellish because I've done it, and pretty much run it by myself. There's like 90 different people sending you tells along with area chat spam, faction chat and everything else. So I can appreciate why things are so d@mn difficult, because pleasing everyone and/or the majority is absolutely impossible. So I know the stresses of running these, you do too, you've done it for like 4 years now. There's nothing but appreciation for the work you put in to organise and run the events because it's hellish for you guys for the time span that it runs.

But honestly, that post just really comes accross as there's some kind of underlying dislike which is quite disappointing because I've always felt we had a good rapport and my post, in which I was highlighting an issue, accidental, deliberate or otherwise is still an exploitable issue which can hurt the integrity of the tournament and I spoke with Byond about it last night in order to have some measure against it today in MA one which he was all too happy to take onboard, I don't see why thats changed.

I hope everyone can move on from this, it's not something I've enjoyed at all but I'd still like to re-iterate(lol, feels like the 20th time but whatever) that I'm happy and appreciate the tournaments hosts, I don't want decisions overturned, nobody here is bitter about losing and I'm trying to highlight a possible issue so that in the next fights, there can be a method to prevent it.

I think in future...

Organisers hand out to each participant an item/items of clothing and shoes that they are to wear, preferably  unbuffed..no deviating.Make sure nothing can go underneath =) This sorts the clothing issue.

Surely its about doing the best with what you got, not who can dodge the rules and flaunt sploits? Finding out who is the best in a certain discipline should be the norm...not the exception after you've dug thru the enhancements.

Take all tournaments back to the basics. Who can work their Loadout best. Not their exploits.

Ok...cmon, start slating me ...I'm a big girl...

#36300522826 11/23/2008 05:18:36 Re:Vector Olympics 3.0 MKT November 15th

Have to run an errand before the MA tournament today and might run a bit late. If it was picking up milk I'd blow it off, but family crap, so Tony and Gravey you get some free time to make it which is all good.

SC I respect each and everyone of you, and like many of you on a personal level, even the ones that don't like me, cause you don't like me with style and thats fun too.

To all with kind words, much appriciated.

Exploits? I can't put my head around em, I can be steered in a way to stop em, just wanted to give us something to do rather then attack shiny people on buildings and such.

I think I like Pyro in this today, do I have a mancrush?

Yas, my comments werent directed at you specificaly, more to Bay.  I know you ran a tourney as well and know how it can be, and in general you are a pretty reasonable person as well.  I wasnt thrown off by your post and understand what you were trying to say.  Bay in the other hand, forgets that when SC won VO2.0, he was the target along with SC, of commiting sploits, bringing the "Syntax sploiters" as they were referred to by many.  At the end of the day, you got SC and PDS in first place, coincidently enough the 2 factions that are blamed the most in this server for commiting sploits.

And Bay, dont send me these PMs thinking you were any type of "contribution" to DE by "posting long mathematical equations that our members didnt understand".  Most of them are casual players that dont take the time that you have obviously put in into understanding the "code of teh matricks". That dont make you better then anyone pal.  I can care less if DE finishes this tourney with 0 pts either, we put these things together to bring content to the server, not to serve as an ego fest and have a wank over our results.

Bayamos wrote:

I responded in PMs because I didn't want to derail your thread any further, but by all means, if you want to keep the topic to attacking me instead of owning up to the truth, go for it. The truth is that I made your faction look bad by posting the fact that your members were bragging about planning on using exploits in the tournament, and as the figurehead for DE you were obligated to respond in turn by publically booting my alt,  posting "Bayamos smells," changing the subject to "So I hear SC exploits," hoping something would stick.

It's a pretty see through attempt, and it's working pretty well because of the latent SC-love this server's got going on, with butthurt people like Hutchie who, no, are still not allowed back in the faction. The fact that you responded publically instead of speaking in the PM only solidifies my point: you quickly moved the post on DE boards where players bragged about using exploits, hoping that no-one would be able to see it in time before your faction's hypocrisy was pointed out. Whatever man, it's your integrity, not mine, and if that's how you want to play it, I really don't care either way.

Now seriously people, , .

wow look at that, unbanned (wont last long im sure)

where to start...

actually you posted an accusation that wasn't backed up by any factual information in the least. which is precisely the issue that i informed you about your constant crying about exploits conveyed on vent last night.  i believe i told you give proof (you know that little thing that ppl need in rl to convict people of things?) or fack off!  furthermore, i believe the post you are referring to stated "i learned a little trick for rollouts."  the last time i checked that doesn't mean its an exploit, now does it.  assumptions pave the road to failure. alas, the post is still where it has always been, not deleted.  if it is determined to be an exploit and is used, faction members will be punished in the exact same way as anyone else.

everything you say, is stuff you've been told or read taken out of context to suit your needs.  i feel bad for yasa, as he has taken the initiative to try to at least show evidence of his complaints.  this was asked of you, and you could only continue to cry and pack up and move on.  as far you original accusations (u know the ones you posted publicly to try to get ppl to side with you...) no one in DE is a friend to PdS that I know of, at least not anymore than they are to SC, so that leg wont help you to stand.  You say you had non-judge DE telling you stuff, yet again you fail to cite sources or provide evidence of your claims, weird how thats a trend with you.

as far as all the dq talk, i think this was the rule of the tourney from the get go:

Any rule broken during any match will result in a warning, the second time will result in disqualification. Any player/team breaking a rule while facing elimination in a fight will be disqualified

No it doesn't lol. If he'd missed with a Kung fu move, that would show in system. Not to mention states last for only about two rounds of combat, in which he offbalanced duckker on a speed attack, missed with a grab, and then hit with tomo. There was no opportunity to miss a kung fu move.

As for changing to kung fu stance before tomo went through, i'm pretty sure that's also deemed as 'naughty naughty' (i may be wrong though), seeing as tomo is an aikido move, and sending it through in a different style would have a different effect. Sending through a tomo immediately sets you to aikido stance by default, the only way you got into Kung fu is by doing that yourself...

#36300523559 11/25/2008 13:26 Re:week off for Thanksgiving back at it on December 6th

I've never had an MA ability fail to show in system, hit or miss. I've only ever seen that with MKT, and I watch system pretty solidly. And it hasn't been fixed, that's obvious from the screen. Even if you had missed a kung fu ab, it would have defaulted you to Aikido straight away for the tomo.

#36300523576 11/25/2008 14:19 Re:week off for Thanksgiving back at it on December 6th

Ok soz it isnt that clear but it is readable. i was looking at all the "Theorys" that everyone was posting on here and i decided to just try it myself, First Tomo i sitch to kung fu just as ab hit and second one i didnt. The first tomo i did (Wid Kung Fu) did 1,059 dmg and the second one i did wid Aikid style (so i didnt do anything) was 1,427, so if Pyro really "Cheated" that much he only made his DMG less by using Kung Fu style, so whys everyone Beefing SMILEY

#36300523579 11/25/2008 14:28 Re:week off for Thanksgiving back at it on December 6th

That doesn't make a difference. I never said he'd switch to kung fu to gain more damage in the Tomo. The fact is that changing colour of hands for specials is deemed an exploit, and changing MA styles also has an effect on specials, so it's pretty much the same thing. Except changing MA styles affects more than a colour does.

Also take into account that when you take damage, the ability hits a random item of clothing, so the damages you've posted there could be different depending what item of clothing it hit, and not dependant on the change of style.

What Az said about the tomo debuff is also right

I'm not against you guys, and I'm not against Pyro, I'm just pointing out the facts.

#36300523582 11/25/2008 14:39 Re:week off for Thanksgiving back at it on December 6th

if you look closer brom it never said both times that Nighthawk is off-balnce yet i got 2 tomos off on him, but yea couldnt care stick up for PDS all you like ive made my point, PDS sploit 24/7 but if a TT member makes one mistake theres threads everywhere on it.

#36300523584 11/25/2008 14:43 Re:week off for Thanksgiving back at it on December 6th

I'm not sticking up for PDS, I'd make the same points whoever was concerned. And I don't think system chat tells you when you state someone else, hotbars light up instead, it does tell you when you recover from being stated though.

#36300523586 11/25/2008 14:45 Re:week off for Thanksgiving back at it on December 6th

In my system chat Brom, it dosnt say anything like that, and the 2nd tomo was more then 12 secs as aza put it after the res was anited from the one b4, so that didnt effect the dmg

#36300523587 11/25/2008 14:48 Re:week off for Thanksgiving back at it on December 6th

That may well be the case, but like I said, there are other factors at play, including what item of clothing it hit. It doesnt depend on whether or not the resis debuffs were still there.

#36300523589 11/25/2008 14:50 Re:week off for Thanksgiving back at it on December 6th

As Yas said, PDS did it to him, but no one is posting threads trying to prove that PDS did it, its just coz its pyro, and PDS are so well known for it people just let it go.

#36300523590 11/25/2008 14:51 Re:week off for Thanksgiving back at it on December 6th

People have already discussed the whole situation with PDS, in this exact same thread.... It also doesn't help when pyro puts up screenshots of system chat showing himself doing it, lol.

As Yas said, PDS did it to him, but no one is posting threads trying to prove that PDS did it, its just coz its pyro, and PDS are so well known for it people just let it go.

I think there was a post, 8 pages back, where it was pointed out but everyone was more than happy to accuse others of crying and sweep the whole thing under the rug to ignore it. It's only when people who come from nowhere to win two events start being found out that the sheep start to catch on.
