#36300506976 10/07/2008 10:53:38 Evaluation 6: Codebreaking (complete)

Evaluator:

Not all of an operative's extraordinary abilities are a direct result of programs or manipulation of the System's code. Even using such things requires extensive knowledge of things such as information processing, programs, and data encryption/decryption. Cracking secret codes will be the focus of this evaluation.

How will it work?

Each day at approximately 12:00 P.M., an encrypted message will appear here. The objective is simple - decrypt the message, and respond here with your answer. Once the first message is successfully decrypted, the next will appear the following 12:00 P.M., whatever day that may be. The next message will not appear until the first is solved.

The first successful decryption awards the subject with a point. Only one point will be awarded to one subject, which is the one who gives the correct answer first. There will be 20 point opportunities, after which the point totals will be tallied to decide the finishing places.

Any decryption tips you can give?

Each encrypted message will have its own "key," or very important clue that will greatly improve the chances of successfully cracking each code. How do you find these keys or clues? Those that look deep enough will highlight the way...

Very important, please make sure you understand: When you give your answer, you must also give your operative name in the Matrix. You can either give it along with your answer here, or you can send it in a private message to Merrit here, but please make sure you include it. I won't be able to assign you your points if you do not do this. One operative name per Data Node One ID, please. Although you can send your operative name privately, your decrypted answer must be given here in this broadcast message. Answers that are e-mailed to me in the Matrix will not be accepted, and answers that are sent in a private message will not be accepted.

Very important: Answers given in a message that has been edited will not be accepted! If you have to edit your answer, please make a new message! I will not be able to accept your answer if you do not do this. Your answer must be exact, fully decrypted and complete before it will be accepted.

When will the first encrypted message be given to start this evaluation?
October 8th at 12:00 P.M.

I didn't participate in the first evaluation. Does that mean I can't participate in this one?

No. There are no restrictions on who can and cannot participate in each evaluation. You may participate in any or all of them.

Do I have to be in a specific organization to participate, or is this open to all redpills?

The evaluations are open to everyone.

Do I have to be at a certain neurokinetic level to take part in this evaluation?

No.

Do I have to sign up on Data Node One to be eligible to participate?

No, but if you decide to attempt to give an answer, you must provide your operative name. See rules above for details.

How will the scoring system work in this evaluation?

Places will be calculated based on the number of points earned. The amount of overall evaluation points given will be based on where you place, as follows:

1st - 1200 points

2nd - 1000 points

3rd - 900 points

4th - 800 points

5th - 700 points

6th - 600 points

7th - 500 points

8th - 400 points

9th - 300 points

10th - 200 points

Will there be 75 points given to everyone who participates?

No.

Please ask any additional questions here, to me directly in the Matrix, or through a private message here to Merrit on Data Node One. Thanks for your participation!

Current standings:

 Conrac - 16 points

 Aquatium - 4 points
