I am seriously enjoying this new stuff. Not a gruesome farm grind like the lastest boxes. All the new gear can be obtained by a solo player. Good work. HIGH 5!

Yes, yes.  After all my bellyaching, many thanks are in order for the solo content.

Excelsior.

I love the fact how this new quest is set up like a pandoras box format. Satis is noce and all but gets boring. Grab box go wait forever to teleport then sit and hack. New quest you actually do missions. I love it. *crosses fingers hoping future quests get added in same format*

My excitement about the Svanhild quest, the item she gives to start the misson has two runes on it. The Mannaz rune, rune of the self; and Raido, Rune of a journey, communication, union and reunion.

The Journey of raido is the journey within, so it relates back to the self.

Advice from the Mannaz rune: remain modest, be in the world but not of it (thought that was especially fitting given the nature of the Matrix); remember at all times what is coming to be and passing away, and focus on that which abides. Nothing less than growth is called for from you now. Be content to do your task for the task's sake (given the cost of the dress and shoes with no buffs, I found that amusing). Do not forget how to play and lose yourself in doing the work for it's own sake. That is the secret of experiencing a true present.

Advice from the Raido rune: It is concerned with the attunement of something that has two sides, two elements and with the ultimate reunion that comes at the end of the journey when what is above and what is below are united and of one mind. (hmmm given this LV push to wipe out all redpills makes me wonder if this is a hidden message). Ask what constitues right action instead of relying entirely upon our own power. Be content to wait and while waiting keep removing resistence. (This is about the soul's journey and resistence to our personal spiritual path I think, I'm not trying to interpret that for MXO). Regulate all excesses in your life. Material advantages must NOT weigh heavily on this journey of the self toward the SELF. (This again amuses me given the cost of the new items). Keep cutting away illusions. Stand apart even from like minded others.

I speculate on how these might tie into what is going on with the story. Wright, the biological interface, LV's effort to wipe out all redpills. Could these runes be some hidden message to us?

(Thanks for indulging a reader of runes excursion into interpreting something that may mean nothing. Then again.....it may have meaning. I invite you all to speculate with me.) (Interpretation of runes taken from The Book of Runes, Ralph Blum)

I really love the theme of these new items. When I first got my own Hovercraft (which was way before this content came out so Rarebit must be copying me...haha) I named her The Valkyrie. And My first tattoo was a wristband of Runestones. The Runes are (Algiz)for Protection,(Nauthiz) Constraint,(Berkana) Growth,(Mannaz) Self,(Thurisaz) Gateway and (Uruz) Strength. As a reader of Runes also,  I agree with your interpretation . By the time a player reaches that level, they should be competent enough to not need buffed clothing etc. This is definately encouragement for me to level although it will be a long difficult journey indeed. Thirded! You guys did GREAT this time. And I gotta admit, I love the exclusivity and sheer luxury of the gold dress. The fact that it's unbuffed just makes it that much more decadent. And the white suit, the glasses .. WOOT!
What a fun update! SMILEY

P.S. plain white stockings for next time pls! SMILEY

Just to clarify, I love the update too. I keep overintrepting the runes I guess. My latest is:

the first rune is not Mannaz. I have that on good authority. I think it's Dagaz, the rune of transformation, so the runes together would be a transforming journey.

Since the Valkries were death angels who took fallen heros to Valhalla and death is a transformation, could be called a journey, I think this fits since in the misson we fight Valkries and the one with the summons is level 55, surely an angel of death for many.

Anyone else think that level 55 Valkrie looks a bit like Wright?

Badkiity: Love your tatoos and that you are a kindred soul in reading runes.

great items. Got everything SMILEY

I wish Val's Glasses and Shield were switched around in looks, though....I love the pink/purple glow on the Shields but I'll porbably be wearing the Glasses most. Shirt is cute....bit white, though... SMILEY

Nice to see the broken dual pistol grab animation fixed but theres still quite a few bugged with it, against a variety of different classes. Wonder if Rare only fixed one instance of it?

excellent upgrade SMILEY I like how the grind is time consuming yet not really something you can get bored of easily. I have the suit and half way to the lvl 50 shades SMILEY

Well I know that I've /bugged a load of animation hiccups in the past including the gunman's grab animation but I think it was when Tsusai and I were discussing the issue in Rare's Dev screenshot thread that really brought the issue to the attention of the Devs. I'm not saying we should spam his thread with details of animations that don't appear to show properly but perhaps, in addition to /bugging them, a seperate thread could be started detailing animations that people aren't seeing or that don't work as they should? Before anyone points it out, I know that there is a section in the Feedback Forums for animation issues, but because of the collapsed status of the entire Feedback section new posts aren't readily apparent and it seems that people don't use it or view it very much any more.

Personally, I say all typo fixes are welcome, although were they necessary in a hotfix? Still, I like to see additions to the patch notes! SMILEY
#36300507698 10/08/2008 17:35:46 Re:Update 63 Discussion - September 19, 2008
I guess the hotfix is more about fixing the Valk stuff to be singleton, and they just threw in the typo fixes with the opportunity.
#36300507777 10/09/2008 00:49:48 Re:Update 63 Discussion - September 19, 2008

If they're gonna send out a hotfix might as well do as much as they can for it... I guess you're right.

Though I must admit i'm still a little confused as to why the summons and the request should be a singleton item, all I can see (at the moment, still waking up) is that you'll have to keep returning to the Vendor after each mission. It wouldn't affect those people farming for the frags.

There was a sploit.

Well I guessed there was, I suppose I just don't have the imagination, or intimate knowledge of these things to work it out at the moment.

Nope, you can't.  I wasn't aware there was an exploit with it either, guess I lack the time, knowledge, or dumb luck to find it.  Oh well.

The adjustment to the level 100 Agent spawns in the halloween patch seemes like the perfect compromise.
