well the second to last Harry potter book is set to hit theaters this november this looks really good the last two movies have ben my favorites and this should be good also if you havent heard The last Movie will be into 2 parts in 2010 one in may and then the second half in that november. they did this so they can get as much of the book in with out having to cut out parts of the book.
heres the trailer http://www.moviefone.com/movie/harr...ince/27063/main

i highly doubt those who havent read the books at this point are going to care about this movie. and even if they havent read them, they've atleast read up on them on wiki or something similiar.
anyway, I am looking foward to this movie as well. OOTP was, in my opinion, the best movie based from its book since chamber of secrets...possibly even sorcerer's stone. and even with that, i still cant believe that the locket was never shown or mentioned in OOTP.
So, having a HP nut as a girlfriend, I'd be dragged to the theatre by her and my friends if I didn't want to go. But, I've always enjoyed the movies so they won't need to drag me.

i wont say im a nut, but i am a fan. im one of those weird fans though that got into the books because of the movies
I really did want to read all the books before the last book came out, but my lady read the last book in about 7 hours and spilled the whole ending to me (even when I told her not to =/).i wont say im a nut, but i am a fan. im one of those weird fans though that got into the books because of the movies

I cant wait for this movie. Im a HUGE fan of Harry potter. I love it!
seriously. this is not like a "dark knight" thread where the movie just came out and only those who saw the movie will know what happened. the book this movie is tightly based off has been out for a few years now, as well as having information on numerous webpages. you cant even truely discuss the movie and what you are hoping to see in it without discussing "spoilers", so if any "spoilers" are going to be romoved by mods then the thread itself should just be closed....
or just edit the title to "warning, spoilers" to let people who have never read the book and are waiting on the movie, with no intention of finding out what happens in "the half blood prince" until they see the movie this november.

Indeed Operative plus the last book will be split into two separate movies much like how Matrix Reloaded/Revolution was like.
I was hyped to go see this now its not out until 2009
As with all book to film conversions, the book is far superior. Every single time.
I enjoy the Harry Potter films but they miss so much, and further more restrict your imagination so much more. Its like they're telling you what Hogwarts has to look like or how people look.
I got book 7 and read it thoroughly in almost one sitting. I found the mid-part a bit of a chore. I mean they did nothing for the most part. But, I'm glad I got past that. I really, really, really enjoyed the ending (even if it was 4am the next morning).
"hey, she's only interested in you because she thinks you're the chosen one"
"but I am the chosen one"
*smack*
"k, sorry. um....kidding."
best line right there lol.
Yah, i saw this trailer last week actually. I'd of posted it sooner but I didnt think about it. As for the complaints up top, about the changes...its only expected, really. Half-blood prince is a long*censored* book, and to expect that they are going to have every scene, every character, every subplot in it is redicilous. They would have to break up the movie into 2, like they are doing for the last book, in order to do that. I am disapointed that they are not, so it seems.....
*SPOILER ALLERT*
going to have dumbledore's funeral. I think that is a crucial point in the book where Harry realizes what he is left with doing. I just pray it is not skimmed down to them walking back to the train talking about it again. However, when it comes to book 6, I feel there are 5 main points in the movie that must be addressed, and from what it seems...they all are.
1: Harry learns about Voldemort's past.
2: Harry learns about the horocruxes.
3: Harry begins the quest to seek out and destroy the remaining horocruxes.
4: Harry + Ginny....nuff said.
5: Dumbledore dies.
As long as that happens, I think the movie is going to be fine. Anything else we get in it will be extra, but those 5 key points are, I feel, crucial to making this movie run the same story line as the book. Personally, there hasnt been a single movie made thus far that has even came close to comparing to the book in my opinion, yet I still have liked them all and still own them all, and I am not going to start cutting down a movie and hating it before I've seen it with my own eyes.
The only true complaint I have about this movie is the fact that I wont be watching it in a couple weeks, and instead have to wait until next July. However in the end it will work out best, because by the time the dvd comes out, we will only be a couple months away from pt 1 of the last movie, with part 2 following in november (grumbles that it will still be 2 more years before they are all done.)
*spoiler below*
I read they cut Dumbledores funeral scene Tygrius?
**spoilers**
yes, I am aware. and while i feel it is an important part of the movie, I think it can get by without it.
