Getting the client from the patcher is taking forever.... Never taken this long with any other MMO I've played.

Is there an alternative download for the client? A torrent or FTP would be nice.

It does take quite a bit of time... is that the one you're using?

It's the same as I'm using. It's only the launcher you download, making it download the entire client using the patcher.

Yep, it will usually take several hours.... lots o gigs.  Havn't had too many complaints about it though.
